« Good Stay Overall. Hotel needs Updating »

Stayed 5 nights. Overall Hotel is Good. It is not in Copacabana but, in a Local neighborhood without lots of tourist. I like this aspect. I felt safe for the most part. Lots of options for eating, transportation (near Metro). Taxis are always outside. I took Uber everywhere(cheaper). Shopping Mall nearby. Rooms are spacious but, the chairs are Horrible. They are soiled and are very nasty. The flooring in the room needs repairing. Friendly Staff very limited English speaking.Restaurant is NOT good and not worth the price. Breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Only 2 Elevators. Elevators are rather slow and are out of service at least once during my stay.

The superior room is very good and has a excellent space, it's recommended for a family of 4 persons. The crew of the hotel is very dedicated, the localization, the building and the view are perfect. It's the right place in Rio.

« We flue down to Rio »

Our stay was in three location Rio, Buzios (To attend a wedding) Niteroi. Rio and Niteroi were both Mercure Hotel. We would recommend both, the later being the oldest and needs a little TLC in a few place. however the friendliness of the staff over come any problems, The food was out of this world both in taste and presentation,

As a business traveller, I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past 8 years and like its location away from all the expensive and hectic touristic attractions. Good breakfast buffet with a nice view to the Corcovado hill, very friendly staff and acceptable rates. I therefore recommend the Mercure Mourisco to folks visiting Rio.

« First and worst experiencie »

I've gotten late at the reception (around 10pm) and every thing was ok. Hv gotten into the room and decided to eat. It would be a 20-25 min waiting. Got no towells and, besides I had to wait for 1 hour, food was awfull. Very small portions and steak was completely toasted (I had order "medium rare). At the end, I've complanied about the stay and the manager excluded the food and mini bar for a "compensation".

« CONVENIENT LOCATION »

Having stayed at the Mercure Botafogo Mourisco many times, this one I was a little disappointed, breakfast not as good as in previous stays, furniture in the room I stayed a bit worn out, slow elevator service, however the attention and courtesy of the staff, coupled with the convenient locations right by the Metro Station in Botafogo, helped overcome these issues.

The hotel is pretty nice and the breakfast is good. The best thing of this hotel is the location: Botafogo. It's a cool neighborhood (more of cariocas than for tourists), near all the nice places (beaches, tourism, malls, local restaurants etc.).

« An excellent stay! »

I liked very much the spacious apartment. The staff is carefull and kind. The hotel is near the metro station "Botafogo", the Sugar Loaf and the Corcovado. It's close to Botafogo Praia Shopping, where you find good restaurants and cafes (like Tiramisu and Cafe Sorelle). Excellent breakfast too!

The room was clean and was spacious, breakfast excellent, staff courteous and professional. My only remark was the very loooooong check-in for all of my family members, considering that I was paying for everyone with my credit card.

« Excellent location! »

Excellent location, access to walk to the beach, shopping malls and free restaurantes.Vista to Corcovado, one of the postcards of the city. I missed a sauna to make the stay even more relaxing. Just sun by the pool in the morning. Breakfast could have more varieties the price charged. Parking is free but not always available when you arrive is vague and the car needs to stay on the street for some time.

I have stayed at this Hotel at least 2 other times in the past 6 months and must say that I was a little disappointed this time in comparison to the previous stays, maybe because it was over a weekend instead of working days, Very courteous staff at reception, they upgraded us to a bigger suite, parking is free what is not usual in other Accor Hotels in Rio, and taking advantage of a very low weekend rate the overall value was outstanding.

« A lot of room for improvement »

The old stained carpet on the hallways make for a very bad first impression. And the dark corridors due to the lights only being turned on by presence sensors add up to that first impression. The elevator, more than looking old, looks poorly mantained with lots of grease stains or fingertips all over its walls. Although you can notice the room in general looks a little outdated, my only critique is that it could use a better housekeeping, the beds looked as if someone had already been sleeping on them, even at the day of my arrival, and the balcony was simply dirty. If you plan on staying at this hotel for the subway station ease of access, I would advise staying at the Ibis hotel at walking distance.

« Excellent choice »

This hotel has everything a business traveler needs in Rio de Janerio. I recommend to get the rooms x11. These rooms are very spacious, double TV nice distribution, maybe not the best sight in Rio but for business travel just fine. Restaurant very good, not much diversity on the menu but it is good enough I recommend the Cheese Cake with Guayaba syrup, delicious. About location, it is on block away form the Botafogo Metro station and from there you can go to Copacabana to find touristic places, of to downtown if you need to do business in downtown. I find the hotel with very good location, nice rooms, good restaurant, my first choice on business travel to Rio.

« large inexpensive noisy rooms »

You get more than what you ay for but less than, at least I, expected. The rooms are large, with a large living area and a small bedroom. Staff is helpful, rooms are clean, internet connections good, breakfast decent. But what they cannot help is location: great to get anywhere, but right over a rapid access ramp = noisy. So if you are noise sensitive avoid it. Otherwise great price/value.

My stay was good. Initially I had to wait for 1 hour before the room was allotted to me. The staff was good and friendly. I felt the break fast was very expensive, it would have been better if the price was little less.

« A course in the RJ »

Went to the Rio for medical training; the classes took place about half a mile from the hotel. The neighbourhood is somewhat intimidating... But the beach view nearby is astonishing. Easy to take cab.

« the hotel is reasonably located in Botafogo district and close to the water and many shops, underground and transport »

The hotel lacks service and amenities, the staff is trying to be welcoming but cannot anticipate the guest needs and expect everyone to be satisfied with the most basic service. The hotel has the right location to make it a destination. Upgrade the service, refurbish the interior, provide some staff who speaks English, and be aware that without guests there is no hotel.

« Great room, not so great service »

The bedroom is spacious and clean. The hotel is close to metro station and is at a good spot in Botafogo. Lot of bars (botecos) and some good restaurants. Close to Hortifruti market (seems like a small Whole Foods). At the hotel the service were not so great. They didn't have plug adapters for their own brazilian pattern (shock!), and they didn't care about it. They didn't have wine openers to borough, so they transfer the call for the restaurant, because maybe they can borough. After one hour that I ask for the wine opener, a man came at my door to open the wine. I already had opened with a pen.

« Good stay »

Staff friendly and helpful. Lobby in renovations. Corridors need to be upgraded and carpets replaced. Rooms recently renewed and quite confortable. Got a high floor with no street noise (a problem in Rio).
