1. The toilet was blocked for 2 day - I asked for service twice, but unfortinately nobody came to my roomto fix it!!! 2. The toilet was built very close to the wall and I had a hard time to sit on it! 3. At breakfast (at 6:30 am), the eggs work-station was closed and we could not et the service. In addition there were not other eggs provided on th buffet.

« Our stay at the Sofitel Buenos Aires far exceeded our expectations. »

Our experience was better than we could have hoped for. We stayed in the hotel from 9JAN-6MAR 2019. We are a large family with 5 children. Sofitel Buenos Aires went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The staff held a special party for the children to celebrate the first day of school in the hotel restaurant. For Valentines Day they dropped off some balloons and desserts for the children. Throughout our stay we were constantly amazed by the attention to detail and support from everyone on staff, from the room cleaners to the doormen.

We had an easy check in with Bianca, who kept our luggage as our room was not yet ready. She also gave us a map and showed us the route to walk to the Plaza de Maya. Our room was comfortable and had a large bathroom with both shower and tub. There was complimentary water bottles in the room and we were asked if our room was satisfactory. Breakfast had a large assortment of food choices and the coffee was very good. On checkout, our luggage was kept for us by a young man who put it in storage. He also found out the name of very old trees in a nearby park, the Gomero and helped put our bags in the car that drove us to the airport. Muchas gracias!

The room was lovely and comfortable and the location great. Breakfast was fine. However 2 personal touches really made the difference 1. While waiting to check-in the young man who had collected our cases from the car and was waiting to escort us to our room noticed that the 3 of us (my wife and I and our guide who was checking us in having collected us from the airport) were really hot and tired, so on his own initiative he went and got 3 bottles of water - 1 each and gave them to us - really thoughtful and caring. 2. Having checked in and enquired about printing of boarding passes for our onward journey the receptionist agreed to print them for us and explained the procedure. At first I could not link to the hotel Internet system and on phoning down a young lady very quickly came to assist me and got it working. However, because the airline had changed it's procedure the described process for printing the passes did not work. I took my computer to the receptionist who calmly worked through a different procedure to print off the passes. All the time she was helpful, friendly and caring. These 2 examples indicate the whole attitude of the hotel staff towards their guests and made for a memorable stay in a lovely hotel.

Enjoyed our stay, at first we thought our room which faced the street and a lower floor would be noisy, pleasantly surprised, it was very quite. We had 2 meals in the restaurant and breakfast, very high quality our compliments to the chefs. All staff members were polite and helpful.

I've been both to the former Sofitel in Buenos Aires, the one that was located on Arroyo Street and I also stayed at what is now allegedly the new Sofitel, formerly known as "The Brick". I even spent the night before my wedding and my wedding night there, so you see, your hotels have always been my first choice. However, this time around, I was sad to see the deterioration of the hotel altogether, with the exception of the service. I already made a review, that was kindly answered by your manager, but, from beginning to end, everything was mediocre. We had made a reservation for two adjacent rooms about three months ago, and when we arrived to check in, the rooms weren't adjacent, and we needed them to be. They did find other ones in the end, but not the ones we wanted in the first place. The rooms were ok, but not peculiarly decorated or welcoming, the towels are rough, the products you have in the bathrooms are cheap, the minibar fridges aren't cold at all, on the minibar menu they state there are diet sodas available, but there aren't, and -for instance- my father kindly received a complementary welcome sweet or something, yet he's not much of a sweet tooth so, he left it, and it stayed there for 3 whole days (!). I also mentioned that the hotel always displays such awful artists. At least every time I'm there. I know that critique is mine and mine alone since art is subjective, but it ads to the experience. I will, however, mention the good things: Your service remains exceptional, your ikebana all through the reception and restaurant are gorgeous (why not put one in each room? I know, budget, but still), your restaurant is really great, so are your breakfasts, your beds are very comfortable, and the scent you put on them when your amazing maids make the bed, is heavenly. I almost felt like running away with one of those bottles. Your staff is very kind (I highly appreciate your manager answering my critique) and to be honest, ALTOGETHER it wasn't THAT bad, it's just that you used to be better. You can be better.
