« Good location spoilt by uninterested staff and nisy airconditioning »

No welcome to our hotel, it was just name, here is your room. Also the rooms there have a very noisy fan. We called someone to look at it but it's inherent in the airconditioning system and we were offered another room but they then admitted all rooms have this problem. The guy who man's the bar was different and friendly guy. Overall a forgetful stay. We had to spend another week in Santiago early in Oct and stayed at the Hyatt and this was a lessor location but much better hotel.

« Great Location, great staff but the reservations system is broken »

Enjoyed the great location of the hotel and the staff were helpful. We stayed in a recently refurbished room which was very comfortable. Unfortunately the hotel's reservation system is broken and needs fixing. We reserved a room with king size bed over seven months ahead, but got a twin (staff said this was an "upgrade " and couldn't do anything about it). Also, more worryingly, we received an email receipt for prepayment of the earlybird rate when we booked as a Le Club member, but on arrival at the hotel, were told our credit card had not in fact been charged and we must pay on checkout (we could not check old credit card statements so had to take the word of the hotel). Still not sure if we paid twice. I asked to speak to the G.M. about this but she was "in a meeting" and never responded to my request.

« Exceeding my expectations. »

The desk personnel were personable and individually concerned about my welfare. They took on Latam Arilines after my luggage was not on my plane and then the wrong suitcase was delivered the next day. They also provided answers to my questions about transportation logistics. The room was always fresh and clean; the include d breakfast was fine.

Restaurant food was very good, especially the pork dish and the fresh pumpkin soup. The waiter was knowledgeable about his local wines and beers and have good advice and service. Room was very comfortable. Bedding was new and fresh. Bathroom had been repainted but this showed poor attention to detail. Location is ideal - in the main heart of the city.

« Starting from arrival to departure there were huge gaps in customer service and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone »

On arrival after a long 15hour fight we were greeted by a very stern lady - there was no smile, no greeting, no basic courtesies like welcome or hope you had a good flight etc. This created a poor first impression. We asked if we had a good quiet room as we needed to sleep well and she did not respond just kept doing her job and handed us the key. The doorman made no attempt to help us with our luggage. We got into our room and turned on the AC and it was noisy, we thought it would quieted down so started unpacking and tried to get to sleep. The maids were making the rooms next door and have a great laugh and conversation with no regard to other guests. I once even opened the door and looked around as a hint but they did not stop. The AC kept cutting in and out and making the noise and we could not get to sleep. So we thought we would have some calming camomile tea which we had but to our surprise th there was no kettle in the room. I called reception to check and she said very coldly that we would have to upgrade to a superior room. For a well traveled person, this was something we had never struck before. All I wanted was hot water to make a cuppa and I couldn't. The receptionist asked if I would like a cup of tea and I thought that was nice of her and said yes but the tone in her voice made me check if this would be charged. Of course she said! I told her not to bother and hung up. After about an hour I called and advised her of the noisy AC and she sent an engineer up to our room. He looked at it and played with the controls but spoke no English and left after saying something which we thought meant it was all fixed. But the noise didn't go away and we were struggling with tiredness. I called and advised the receptionist that the AC was still making the noise. She offered us another room on a higher floor and came up to our room with the key. I thought I would check the new room first before moving as we had unpacked. This room had the same problem!! I was flabbergasted by this time and could not understand why she would want us to move when all the ACs cut in and out and made the sound. She said this room had a kettle!! The engineer said that all rooms had his problem and the way guests circumvented this was either to have he AC off. I decided to stay in the same room and keep the AC off. The receptionist then said that for the inconvenience she would give us a voucher for a welcome drink. This totally knocked me as it made me wonder why I was not given these vouchers on arrival if it was a welcome drink. They could not even provide a flask with hot water. I was glad that we only had 2 nights here and was happy to leave. As we had to leave very early at 4:45am I asked if they had a packed breakfast we could take as is the case with many hotels. They said they didn't not have this but that we could come down to the bar and have a cup of coffee and a cookie. We came down to have at least a cup of coffee but there was no milk. I had to ask the man at reception who seemed to be surprised that someone asked for milk but did go up to the restaurant and get us some milk. So all in all a totally poor experience with poor customer service.and I would never stay here again and would not recommend anyone else and will be unable to give a positive review on trip advisor or other travel forums we use. I am a dentist and was in Santiago to attend a conference due in 3. Weeks but has just stopped for 2 nights first to get rid of jet lag before arriving at high altitude in cusco. I am returning to Santiago but will be staying elsewhere for 6 nights for the conference.

« Workdays OK, weekends not so »

Breakfast service in the weekend was bad. No coffee or reheated coffee when having breakfast early. New lay-out of the buffet means having to walk between all the stations at least twice (Plates, bread & toaster should be next to each other, or at least in order in the normal walking flow. Rooms dusty & bathroom never cleaned completely after last paintjob (masking tape still on the towel rack etc.)
