The hotel is centrally located which is excellent. However car parking is limited. I would stay again if in Darlington. Only thing I would say is that in the extreme heat such as last week, fans or air conditioning is needed. However overall excellent.

The rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast very good. The staff were kind and helpful. The downside was the noise of a person who was escorted out by the police, Chinese children running and banging doors in the corridor and a television very loud in the room next door. The last two sorted when I spoke to them. One problem was a stair bannister was broken and both my daughter and I had to speak to the reception staff before a cone was put by it. We feel the problems wouldn’t happen every visit and would use your group again. Mr. M.

Lovely, clean hotel. Staff training required in certain areas. No-one behind the bar, they were busy talking in a back office. Once they were called, they came to the bar. When going for breakfast, the gentleman showed us to a table, didn’t explain where anything was. By 9.20am the kitchen had run out of bacon! I had to request brown sauce twice by 2 different people. When I got up to look, one of the waiters said he’d put it on the side. He had, but in a bowl without a spoon. Then I had to go hunting for a spoon. A little staff training wouldn’t go a miss!

room was comfortable and tidy, entertainment good but the only thing that let my stay down was breakfast, tables not setup fruit bowls empty cold meats and cheese plate empty, young staff could not cope

Our stay at the Mercury Kings Hotel Darlington on Friday 20th&21st of July was mainly for a Murder evening at which we had a great time. The room was very good but was spoiled by our breakfast experience both on the Saturday when the tables weren't cleared or set and we had to wait a long while to be served. Sunday the orange juice was in cartons with straws. We were told when ordering our cooked breakfast they had run out of bacon.

Excellent food and accmmodation plus helpful staff. The lack of car parking space and the fact that we had to pay a small fee at the car park that we were directed to.the underground car park at the hotel was largely occupied by a huge number of motor bykes. I must also say tha the bikers were very pleasant and well behaved in comparison to some of the people who were else ware in Darlington that day

The hotel room was wonderful and the view from the room excellent. However on arrival nobody stood at the reception desk so we had to wait. This sadly happened again upon checkout - I had a train to catch from Darlington station to Manchester and having to wait and wait and wait while staff served drinks in the hotel bar was just unacceptable and the lady who I went to see I explained I had a train to catch and she growl back she was on her own and serving - that is not my problem but I nearly missed the train back home having to wait so long. You need more hotel reception staff- that is your meet and greet and in this hot weather standing for nearly 10mins to be growled at....not good customer service.
