Initial experience of the hotel was not great - a small underground car park didn’t feel particularly safe or welcoming for a female travelling alone. I followed the signs for reception with my bags and very heavy case which I had to haul up several flights of stairs, only to be told when I got to reception that it would have been easier to go around the ramp and the pavement to the front door of the hotel!! Shame there wasn’t a sign saying that! The room was small but comfortable and modern with everything I needed.

Building was a bit too confusing and maze-like. No shower caps or hair conditioner. Bed was very hard. Room itself was tiny. Otherwise ok.

The general stay was fine. Room was nice and nothing a problem there. The issue was the noise from high row until about 4am in the morning. There was no way to reduce the noise. Then the fire alarm went off about 6am then at 7am the banging and clattering of scaffolding for the stalls in the morning. So basically had about 3 hours sleep.

Hotel was good. However the carpet was soaking wet throughout possibly due to a carpet deep clean or a shower leakage. Only noticed when I took my shoes off possibly that is why it wasn't picked up by house keeping. It wasn't a large inconvenience, kept my shoes on and informed reception on checkout.

Had a lovely overnight. Room was clean and warm. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Food was excellent, both breakfast and evening meal. In the centre of Darlington near to the market so convienient for shopping.

Only stayed one evening but we had a very comfortable night. Rooms were clean and bright and had everything we required. Staff were all very pleasant and well turned out. Breakfast was of a good standard also.

« Nice people but poor organisation »

Nice people throughout but... I pre ordered extra pillows for a breathing condition. Nothing had been done so had to request at reception. No guide in the room for internal contacts. First morning breakfast was like no one in the kitchen cared cold plate fatty bacon, hard sausage. Second day I had kippers - rather, a single kipper that was fine. Second day my key card failed to work - at reception they showed no surprise. I really expect more from Accor - the local budget hotel certainly has a superior breakfast at a slightly lower price.

As we run an event in the local area we stay yearly at this hotel, previously it’s been good but this year our stay was spoiled by noise on the Saturday evening. The hotel were hosting a wedding and Obviously this will be a priority for the hotel Our issue was the noise from the wedding going on until after midnight and despite being on floor U4 we Could hear the music word for word being played we had requested a quiet room in the hotel having had a letter issue with noise from the market last year so it was very disappointing. The restaurant was nice and the food lovely for our evening meal. Not sure whether we would stay again due to the noise issue

It was very good . Our radiator did not work so we contacted reception. They could not fix it, so they brought us a heater up to the room.

Stay was OK and rooms were acceptable. Only issue was the older building and the lifts required to get from ground to 4th floor. Overall a good hotel.

Brilliant facilities in generally. Sleep was disturbed as neighbours were quite noisy and the walls are obviously not thick enough, could almost make out word for word of the conversations and coughing etc. Cooked Breakfast took a while to come and when it came, the only thing that was hot was the baked beans :-(

I arrived at 9.45 pm. The chef was due to leave within minutes but a hot evening meal was provided which was very welcome. However the bed room was cold and I slept poorly.
