Ok. First night though it was impossible to sleep as another room were having sex loudly. Second night it was hard to sleep with ththe noise coming from the 60th. Food was good excluding Sunday. We popped back to get our bags and ate about 5. I had lasagne which was burned and dry and my mums pork was cold. I ate none of mine. I told the sever who apologised and said the restaurant was really busy. We were then still charged in full despite sending a full plate back!

We do allocate rooms as far away as possible for guests who aren't attending parties, it is unusual for rooms on the side of the building you occupied to be affected unless the was a door or window open from the room hosting the party which perhaps our duty Manager on the night was not aware of and will therefore follow up for future events. I will share your comments regarding the bar service with our operations Manager who I'm sure will provide further training on handling customer feedback at the time in a more constructive manner, I'm sorry this wasn't fully addressed this at the time with a suitable replacement or remedy offered. If you are visiting the area again in the future please do contact my colleague Mike Noble as copied so we can ensure a preferential rate and room upgrade at no extra cost to one of our privilege rooms. Toilet broken - took 2 days to repair. Maintainance man only works 5 days per week!! No contingency plan - never heard of yellow pages. Dirty - somebody else's toenail between beds and stayed there for duration of our stay - 3 nights. Disgusting and speaks volumes of housekeeping staff. Paper tissues left behind on chairs in reception. Bathroom extractor fan not working. Bathroom shower curtain rail had become unclipped and stayed like that for entire 3 nights - only takes a second to clip it back into place. Cooked English breakfast had obviously been left out and was so dry it was inedible. Photographs and videos taken if required.

Room we were originally given was unmade when we entered the room. We were quickly given a new room but no apology given. Staff in general were not very friendly or polite.

« Old fashioned , scruffy hotel with doorway full of smokers !!! »

Poor experience with first room scruffy with terrible noise from out of balance vent fan, second room was supposed to be a premium room but did not even have any drawers to put clothes in . The bathroom was awful with a clingy shower curtain over a slippy bath...........No thanks wouldn't stop here again, food at breakfast simply not good enough, burnt everything, broken toaster, This hotel was a bad choice on our part.

Business trip so only used the room and breakfast facilities. The room was large and shower newly updated/modernised. Breakfast was servered in a large welcoming room with nice light and efficient, attentive staff.

The rooms were very basic I had to move rooms twice due to so many faults ( lighting ,toilet and burnt and dirty iron) The rooms were not sound proof The staff were reluctant to give me a ice bucket All in all dispointing

Good staff welcoming and friendly. The building is a lovely Victorian pile that is a bit of a rabbit warren but the rooms are nice. Restaurant food was good but not many people in on Bank Hol Monday night.

Very friendly check-in, good size room and very comfortable. Free parking too. Great location in town. Only slight issue was no air con, but I wouldn't have wanted to change the good weather we had, so can't complain.

Friendly welcome at reception, hotel looked smart on entering, room was well appointed and comfortable. Only had breakfast in hotel but menu choice was good and food very well prepared. Shower in room was top quality and worked well unlike in many hotels! Some disturbance from chiming clock in tower through the night, mentioned this to receptionist and she apologised saying they have approached council about it but they will not alter the hours. She offered to make sure I was given a room away from the clock tower if I returned to the hotel which I thought was most helpful.

I stayed for an event that took place at the hotel. The room was modern clean and comfortable although not particularly well sound insulated. The hotel is just about as central as you can get in Darlington.
