« Not as good as it used to be »

The team remains very professional and supportive as they used to. two main things made this experience worst than my previous ones; The parking, I guess this is the worst hotel I stayed in globally when it comes to the parking, the card, the screening and the attitude of the security make it a deal breaker. The 2nd point is the net speed, although the price of the stays more than doubled in a year the speed of the internet declining dramatically

Had no problem with the room etc, the only problem was the thirty minute checkout when I was the only person at reception at 0500 hours. Incompetence and arrogance in equal measure.

« Good hotel, bad staff »

Room space and design is good, a typical novotel. The gym and the rooftop is nice as well. Good value for money. Maintenance of the equipment could be better (AC quite noisy). Service could not really be worst. No way to call reception, you have to go and anyhow they don't care! Don't expect any hello when you arrive or goodbye when you leave, you will just disturb them. Staff were much better before, seems management looked for saving and downgraded the staff level.

I already experienced Mercure Hotel in Sao Paulo and had to upgrade for $267 to simply get complimentary coffee and water in my room. At Novotel Jeddah (the equivalent of Mercure in Saudi), I had the above for no upgrade (no additional cost) and tactics recommended by room service to minimize my charge on orders.

This was my first experience at Novotel which didn't meet my expectations at all. - There was an accident that shorten the water supply during the first two days of my stay. No notification or apology letter sent from the general manager. This accident affected my business schedule as I was not able to shave or take shower. - F&B is not up to ACCOR standard in terms of the food items and service. All the staff at the restaurant are not well trained and they have no clue about the hospitality. - Housekeeping is the only department that met my expectations. - Laundry service is very slow to deliver the items. - Hotel operator never answered any outgoing calls "no standard".

Usually my stay at Novotel Jeddah Tahlia is without drama and I am made to feel welcome and comfortable. However I have found that when things go wrong at the hotel, there is nothing. No answers to repeated calls to reception, no communication from Staff about the problem and how long it will take to fix it. Nothing. You are left completely in the dark to wait and that is frankly not good enough.

« Wasn’t that good »

Poor staff in addition to untrustworthy in terms of housekeeping. I’m missing a flash memory that have been taken by the housekeeping. My problem haven’t been solved at all in which this is major item. The front desk don’t answer the call unless you call them a lot. This place is a huge disappointment in my experience. The rooms designe & furniture are lovely, however, the staff need to be developed in terms of quick response & customer support.

First of sll my room was next to some teen and the ware making a lit if noise. Until 7 o’clock in the morning. I can’t go to the parking lot unles if i gave a card from the reception wich was so annoying Becouse there isn’t any other pkace to park the and do the check in . They spouse to leat me in by my reservation and the card room or room number . I cam once late at night with my family and I forgot my parking pass in the room , and they didn’t let in and the scurty guy refuse even to contact the reception and check with them . In my way I saw a non Pleasant seen young boys and girls blicking the drive entrance of the hotel they wete coneing from top floor i think there is a club or cafe . I don’t know. Next day I business man came to the hotel i invited him for a drink in the lobby the scurty refuse to let us in although there was a lot of space in the parking lot . What if we were 2 guys staying at the hotel and we have tow diffrent car is the hotel management will allow us to park only one car . I went to better hotel they never did like what you hotel did. I even went to smaller hotel than your hotel and they never reserved ther parking lot the parking lot for guest and vister . Plus the scurty guy was not polite And very rude and a smart mouth .

Service is slow. I asked for an iron with board. It took 4 remiders to get it done. Tv was not working in lounge. Water was dripping from ceiling. Operator , reception, housekeeping do not pickup.

« Worst hotel experience ever »

I am a silver member, I know the kind of experience to expect - this is not one. In fact, this has been the worst possible experience I have ever had with Novotel or any other hotel for that matter. The visit was filled with negative experiences - Here is a trail of the few negative experiences The reception or anyone else - never answers the phone - throughout the stay.. In one instance, I asked, and the answer was "I am alone here and I have guests in front of me - they take priority!" I was staying in executive suite and yet amenities were not fully available. I asked for a "conditioner!" and Iron board at 5pm, and till 12am nothing came up.. When I called asking for the iron board again, I was told - service staff finish at 11pm you need to call back tomorrow! We asked for healthy breakfast - no questions asked about preferences - I got a cup of yogurt, latte, fruit plate, and pastries. No main course, egg or anything else.. When I asked, he said, what did you expect? I asked to book a meeting room for a prospect - I was given a card to call the sales person. The sales person said, there are rooms available, but he asked me to go ask for a specific person. That person frowned at me and said "You should have come earlier".. and "I don't have any rooms!".. After insisting, he showed me a room and greed to give it to me Although I was paying for the meeting room atop my stay, my meeting guests were not allowed to park their car in the hotel parking lots- I was told the policy doesn't allow for non-guests to come inside. I was interrupted twice in my meeting.. Once by a security guard asking me "did you book this room!??" and then again by hotel staff asking me to sign the bill, in front of my guests!! With this horrible experience, I chose to sit with the hotel GM and tell him about this.. He was receptive and nodding his head.. He offered me nothing back but an apology and that he will discipline the staff!! I left speechless.. I know Novotel doesn't differentiate itself on service, but I could tell you this was a different level of low.
