« A nice property with cooperative staff »

I was impressed by the quality and swiftness of check in and check out as well as the room that was spacious, well stocked with all amenities that one could require during stay. Room pool view with a private balcony was definitely a plus. Just walking distance to the beach and walking street makes it an ideal location and place to stay

I am a Accor Platinum Member, and i have been staying at the Hotel Baraquda Pattaya for the last 4-5 years, around 1 to 3 times a year. If it was possible I always got a room upgrade. They make me feel so welcome and like I am at home. The staff from reception are so amazing , their service is second to none. The place is warm and friendly and the rooms are quiet and safe. I would like to thank everybody.

Only average overall. I got my foot caught on the exposed underwater pool light wireing. The light fixture and the electrical cord going to the light fixture has fallen off the side of the pool and the exposed wire and fixture is floating around under water in the pool. Really, no one has noticed? Dangerous. Really? As part of the hiring procedure at the hotel a test is given. any potential employee who speaks more than five English words is immediately eliminated during the hiring process. Nobody at the hotel speaks more than 10 words of English. Really? This is an international Hotel. And English is the primary language of tourism. yet nobody at the hotel and I certainly include people who have primary contact with guests can speak more than 10 words of English. Why? Really? Tell the waiter in the restaurant that you want the English muffin under the soft boiled egg and Bearnaise sauce toasted well and what happens? He doesn't understand a word you're saying, and he brings back the egg Benedict with salmon instead of ham but the English muffin still is not toasted well. But always a big smile hands clasped and a little bow but no English. Why. Absolutely no English throughout the hotel. I learned more Spanish in my first two weeks of Spanish class when I was in 7th grade then all of the employees at the hotel speak English now. Why? Also as far as the architecture at the hotel is concerned I realize you were dealing with a very narrow piece of land but you lose this son at the pool very early. Nothing can be done about that. I realize it's a current architectural fad but I like an enclosed toilet and shower not opaque glass I'm not a curtain. I like privacy in my toilet and my shower, although I do realize that some international hotels are building their bathrooms like this but I don't like it. There are two waterfall features at the end of the hotel. Nice thought but they both have kind of a green mold growing underneath them. The Wallace supposed to be white not moldy green. This can and should be fixed. There are far too many electrical on-off switches in the hotel room. you need a degree in electrical engineering to figure out which switch does what. Far too many. Plus then there are even more electrical on off switch is on both sides of the bed. I've never seen a hotel in my life that had so many on-off switches for a small room. Why? The tile pool is a very nice idea and I realized that's expensive. More expensive than a plaster pool. But lots of those little pieces of aisle are falling off especially around the edge. Why can't they be fixed or replaced? When I asked for a taxi to the airport they said they would get me a hotel taxi and if it would be a way to 15 minutes and that the cost would be above what the taxis work charging on the street. Why? What service was this? There were dozens and dozens of taxi sitting right in front of the hotel and all of them offered lower rates than the hotel did back to the airport in Bangkok. I did not want to Hotel taxi with a higher rate I just wanted a taxi at a standard rate. Why? I got a text to myself at a good price no problem. Why? Touch up paint is needed around the exterior of the hotel including the front upper area. Why isn't this done? it's not because paint is expensive and it stopped because labor is expensive in Thailand. Why? Does your regional or district manager ever walk around the hotel to look and see what needs to be done? Interesting architecture for The limited lot size that you were working with but ongoing maintenance was poor. I'm not talkin about the cleaning ladies who did an excellent job. but the regional or district managers who should keep their eyes open when they walk around the property.

I felt at home as soon as I entered the hotel. I received an upgrade to the best suite in the hotel. On the whole, my stay at the Baraquda enabled me to enjoy Pattaya. The facilities and staff were fantastic!

Staff were generally pleasant but not so pleasant in the restaurant. The air con in the room was so noisy that it was almost impossible to sleep through. Shower wasn’t working properly, which was reported, and nothing was done about it. Room cleaners were most friendly and most helpful.

« a little run down condition but with good swimming pool »

Swimming pool is nice. Breakfast is good. But the rest is not impressive. The room conditioned is under my expectation of being MGallery by Sofitel. There's something wrong with air cond and shower with no door, the floor and area close to shower is damped all night that the clothes you put at the chair near the bed become moist as well. The towel is clean but you can tell it was used for some times. I was getting email prior arrival as accor member for late check-out at 5pm. However, front desk grants me only to 1pm and you can tell the hotel is not fully booked as she saids. This is super disappointed. 1pm is normal late check out at any hotel even if you're not their member.

« Baraquda is a swanky and different hotel that is run very well with an excellent staff. »

I've stayed at Baraquda a number of times and every time I found the staff to be excellent. Everyone from the front door to the reception to the house keeping staff are quite pleasant and very good at their jobs. I really like the room but, every time I've stayed there I find that there most be something wrong with the air con systems in that the humidity level in the room is very high. The air cons seem to cool fine but, the humidity is very high to the point where water condensates on the floor.

good stay as usual, not all platinum status upgrades given again but it is a busy hotel and i probably suffer by booking 17 nights, would possibly get a room upgrade if i booked for a shorter period.
