I want to share with you my experience in the Sofitel Abidjan. The room they offered me was terrible, small, very dark, red strange color, noisy AC, old furniture. I have asked for a suite, even the AC in the suite was very noisy and the temperature control was not working and the furniture is old with strange bed. The food from the room service came differs from what I have ordered, not only that also was not well cooked, imagine a chicken color was red. Your colleague Junior at the reception couldn’t accommodate and handle my check in properly. Three times I called for a manager to call me back, no one called as the housekeeping ignored my request to clean the suite before 10 am when I had meeting with VIP in the suite but they didn’t show up. Meireille called for the room service and she was nice and professional. The breakfast was very good and the restaurant team was friendly. Sorry to tell you I had a very very bad experience with Sofitel Abidjan. I was staying in the suite 507 from June 8 until June 12. I have forgotten a valuable item for me Chiwara in the suite, please keep it for me for my next trip to Abidjan in September but I don’t think I will be staying in Sofitel anymore, I always stay at Tiama as they really appreciate me as valuable and treat me a VIP guest.

I love your hotel! Great pool, lovely food, lovely staff, BUT: 1: why charge 30,000fcfa for the navette when good taxis charge 10,000? at a price of 320 euros per night, it should be free with a glass of wine! Same for the Spa: why charge 15,000 fcfa for the hammam, and say that there is no sauna? It should all be free, and there IS a sauna, but in another part of the hotel. The "mains libres" phones don't work at all, should be changed. The tennis Club is derelict; it should be maintained and become a Sofitel-sponsored centre for tennis excellence! And the price of the rooms is very high, and the hotel quite empty: is it not time to lower the price?

The experienced started with a warm welcome at reception and I was upgraded to a suite. Great views. Very comfortable suite, clean, good WIFI and spacious desk. The staff are polite and always willing to help. Very good choice for breakfast and as I like local food I went to the Pavilion twice. The first night Maury told me about the history and made some recommendations. Lilianne helped rescue my polo shirt as I splashed soup (local chicken soup with cassava semolina) on it - she brought warm water with lemon in it. The 2nd night I walked in and the female Maitre d' with whom I had virtually no contact with the night before said "good evening Mr E. good to see you again". That is service excellence. I had the Ivorian Chicken with fried plantain. The tuna starter was great. I had stayed in the "Hotel d'Ivoire" on several previous occasions and always enjoyed it. I was glad to see you had retained the pool and upgraded the rooms, etc. I hope to see you soon.

You should use a different brand from the group. This hotel is not Sofitel standard it’s a 3 star hotel in Europe. Dirty pool, poor food, dirty rooms , old infrastructure, overpriced , poorly trained staff

the carpets and state of the room were unsatisfactory. the toilet pot was loose on the wall and I could not sit flat incase it broke out under me. so had to squat for the 2 days and nights. not a good experience at all

Hotel is attractive inside with interesting fusion French/African design. Rooms a little basic but with everything required. Staff friendly and helpful although it is useful if you speak a little French to make yourself understood. Food reasonable. Biggest problem was a persistent strong small of damp in my room. This was particularly unpleasant and made sleep difficult at times.

Recommendations: - Give security staff diversity sensitization training. For example, saying "hee haw" to an Asian person is perceived as unwanted harassment. - Deep clean the carpets in rooms. The rooms are very nice and well kept generally, though the stains in the carpets in both rooms I stayed really take down the perception of cleanliness.
