We weren't notified that you had to pay for the carpark also there were very few so it was first in first serve each day also it was more costly than down the road. My husband had had a operation and couldn't lift things so having to park down the road was a inconvenience. With the road works going on it would be nice to be notified and a map sent when you book so you don't have problems getting into the Sebal (all that is needed is a simple map) The room was lovely and spacious The Sebel Quay West Auckland is a little confusing where it is.

Room was extremely old and worn out. Chipped walls and stained carpet.

We found the hotel to be very comfortable and welcoming and in close proximity to restaurants. the hotel was clean and the staff welcomed you with a smile and were very helpful. The receptionist was very obliging and helpful in making our stay a wonderful occasion.

The toaster was broken. The pool wasn’t available and was told when ringing before arriving that a high chair and cot would not be available - so brought our own. Only to arrive and be told that there is a high chair and cot available.

Absolutely wonderful. My husband dropped my kids (6 and 8 years) and myself, with luggage, off at the wrong Sebel! The lady there saw we were struggling so she helped us with the luggage and walked with us to the Quay West hotel and helped us check in - she was so helpful and friendly! Then the receptionists were so warm and friendly (I think they even upgraded us which was so appreciated!). The kids were ecstatic when they saw the suite. We had the most wonderful time. It was a shame the pool was closed - as originally, that was the main reason we chose your hotel! But overall it was a great stay. And that was very meaningful, because I was about to leave for 3 weeks on a work trip and wanted to treat the kids before I was away for the longest time ever in their lives! Our 'mini holiday" (we live in Mangawhai) was the perfect thing to help them cope with my leaving. I've only ever been away from them twice before in their lives anyway! So - thank you ever so much. It was really special for us. :-) Sophie

I am glad to hear that the team were also able to upgrade you to a room with a better view and that you took advantage of our location to your best. I apologise for the pool being out of service during your stay, such a shame! and I also understand that the kids would have been disappointed because of this. The pool has a structural damage and is currently out of order due to health and safety reasons. We are in process of working with an external contractor to fix the issue and have it back in action asap. In the interim, we have organised a backup option for the pool only for our hotel guests. You can use the swimming pool at The Tepid Baths for free, which is just a 2 minute walk from the Hotel. Please see one of our friendly Sebel hosts to assist you with comp passes and for directions. I'm sure the kids would love the indoor heated pool there.. I see that you have made another reservation with us and we are thrilled to have you back at The Sebel. I have already communicated this to my staff and I'm sure they will look after you and ensure your upcoming visit will be as pleasant as the previous one. Glamorous high end apartment stay in the heart of Auckland with spectacular city and water views with wrap around balcony. We booked a 1 bedroom apartment but on arrival were upgraded to an exceptional 2 bedroom apartment! Staff were excellent, professional and courteous. We loved having brunch at Up Cafe on Level 1. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and obliging.

We booked Sebel so that the kids could use the pool which was empty. Nobody informed us.

Not great. We had 4 teenagers and ourselves who booked Sebal so that we could use the indoor pool. Nobody informed us before arriving that it was out of commission. If we had known we would have gone somewhere else for our weekend break.

Hidden in the Auckland maze!

After a 12 hour long haul flight we drove into town locating the hotel by the GPS navigation system. Sadly due to road works the system failed to find a way in. We found the Sofitel (should have stayed there) and the concierge sent us to another Sebel where the helpful concierge showed us how to walk to the Sebel West Quay. On arrival there we have to find a person who could drive a car to get directions from the other Sebel car park into the Sebel Quay West. Thankfully we eventually found our way in, an hour and a half after we arrived in the city. It would have been useful had the hotel (who knew we were coming by car) had warned us of the diversions and sent directions in advance. The diversions had been in place for many months so NO excuse for this oversight.

As we are aware that roadworks can get challenging, we do try contacting guests (only possible if we have contact numbers listed on bookings) a day prior to the arrival dates to check if assistance with directions to get to the hotel is required. Unfortunately we do not have international calling facilities to contact guests outside New Zealand and Australia. However, your feedback will be shared with the management and please be rest assured that we will take the appropriate measures to address the problem to prevent future occurrence.
