« Wonderful stay with all you could need for comforts away from home! »

My room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. Lots of natural light, with a functional (and relaxing) spa bath. Also loved the bowl of apples at reception (took one each day I was there). I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! I was a touch disappointed with my breakfast and hadn't realised that in order to have it in my room I needed to place the order the night before.

I was upgraded to a bigger room - it wasn't really clear why as the new room had a strange shape and 2 desks. I only needed one. I had room service and wanted to watch the news while I ate my dinner. The room didn't have a table which enable me to do that, so I had to balance the tray on my knees. Also, the room is for tall people. If I'd wanted to, I couldn't see through the peep-hole and the safe which I did want to use, was so high in a cupboard it wasn't possible for me to see from the ground whether I'd taken everything out. In the bathroom the mirror was too far away to make it easy to put on make-up. You need to get the mirrors that come out from the wall, on an arm so it can be pulled towards one and with a light and a magnifying and non-magnifying side. Also - I'd asked for a room with a double bed. I got one where the bed was two beds pushed together where each side seemed to slope away, so I had to sort of climb into the middle to be comfortable. Ans, while I understand this would not be seen by some as an "issue", the beautifully clean and crisp linen on the bed was almost too much - too voluminous and a bit suffocating. The cafe could not cope in the morning at breakfast to produce a hot breakfast in a reasonable time, and when my scrambled eggs were served, they were either powdered eggs, or very ordinary eggs. I did not go back to the cafe on the second morning. Finally, in the gym, the spin bike was impossible to adjust.

Hi got a call from the Como service desk a couple days before to find out our arrival time and i specified around 3pm to 4pm and they replied is it anything special for your trip to The Como Melbourne and i replied it is our 26 anniversary to which i was surprised the they told us there would be a little surprise waiting for you. On our arrival they tell us our room wasn't ready we waited for around 40min and they told me happy Anniversary and they were giving me another room all ok then they told me that the original room had a small gift that they were going to bring over to the new room but that didn't happen so we were disappointed at the people telling you that there is a gift now don't say anything about the gift if you don't present it we were there for 3 days and nothing pretty poor service

I proposed to my wife at the Como Hotel 23 years ago. At that time the Como was a very new and revered hotel. We recalled it to be an awesome experience as it delivered on the expectation. This stay, 23 years on, we were a little let down. The construction of a large building in the area blocked our view back to the Melbourne city line and the quality of food from the in house room service was terrible, we could of and have cooked better at home. I had the risotto which was like a white paste with no flavour and my wife had the barramundi which was dry and tasteless. The room, the staff and the service was as expected, but we chose not to eat out due to the poor weather. That was a bad decision, as it really tainted what should have been a great experience.

The Como Melbourne was a great motel in a excellent location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & the staff were all friendly aswell as helpful. The only let downs for the weekend were i was contacted the week leading up to our stay via email asking if we were celebrating anything whilst we stayed at the Como? I was impressed with these emails taking such interest in our stay as i was celebrating my partners birthday to which i informed the Como. Unfortunately there was no recognition from the Como for my partners birthday at all though which was a bit of a dissapointment. I wouldnt of normally expected such recognition but it just seamed to be a waste of my time sending all the emails informing the como leading up to our stay. The other dissapointmoint was i payed for the 3 items we consumed from mini bar on checkout only to be emailed saying we consumed 2 other items ontop of the 3 which was untrue. This was sorted with a couple of emails & i was reimbursed. Overall we had a great weekend & enjoyed our stay at the Como Melbourne.

Love the Accor brands ,,,, and of course they went above the required to offer a fantastic experience from start to finish. They help with luggage and stairs, the rooms are gorgeous - I love a spa bath experience, and the breakfast is fresh and yum.

One suggestion for the conference area is for the service team to turn off all piped music in the rooms. No conference I know would ever want that. The service in a conference area is crucial for the running of the event. I found all other areas excellent
