This was a great way to spend a couple of days in Melbourne. The welcome we received by the staff was exceptional. The hotel was well presented and had a lovely old world charm about it. Our room was fantastic, spacious and with the added surprise of a bottle of sparkling and chocolates, as well as a welcome message. The bar, although not busy was also great. Our barman organised great drinks, a romantic meal and excellent service. The food was really good, especially the lamb pie. The hotel was really quiet, never hearing noise from other guests. We would definitely stay here again. Special mention to the staff again- they are a real credit to your hotel. Our battery was flat on our departure, but they managed to get us going and it was never a problem. Thanks for a great stay. PS I loved the little blue duck!

2nd visit for my daughter and I in a month. We actually left another hotel in the city to come back to this hotel. Everything was perfect. The only 1 downfall was the timing of the breakfast with the half an hour gap, it came too close the end of the gap, ie, booked for 8 to 8.30- it came at 8.29 so i had hoped it would arrive a little closer to 8 so i didn't have to rush. That happened twice but everything else was lovely, thank you! In my mind, i had preferred it to arrive between 8.10 to 8.20 am. Thanks.

We liked the upgrade to a larger space and the quiet room away from the lifts. Good daily service Excellent breakfast options. Annoyingly, it took several attempts to convince various staff that breakfast was part of our booking and was included in the cost of the room. Even at checkout, I would have been charged $50 for the first breakfast even though I had alerted reception and the breakfast staff about the error.

The first thing you notice is the professionalism of your staff at reception which is only surpassed by their courteous manner. This extends to all staff I have dealt with at the hotel. The rooms are clean, provide luxurious extras in the bathroom, but best of all are all very spacious. This is especially important in my case as I used the hotel for both business and pleasure and although I stayed in a basic room, I never felt claustrophobic, so that I could email and skype clients in one end of the room while my partner rested in bed. We did order from room service and the food was promptly delivered and delicious. Mine is a unique situation. I live in Melbourne so I'm strictly not your tourist or business traveller type but as I work in the entertainment industry, I often have to meet interstate and overseas clients. I like to do this at a central spot and if I can combine it with a nice hotel room at the right price, my partner who is also my PA can accompany me and we can have a little spoil time. I have to tell you, The Como is easily the best venue I have found to cover all those bases so far.
