« Relaxing family golf weekend »

Stayed at this resort first weekend after schools broke up for the summer holidays. Enjoyed golf, swimming, tennis and walks. Excellent restaurant. Convenient distance to Sydney. Staff were really attentive.

We stayed at your facility for two(2) nights for our annual conference event, this being the second year in a row. the size of our party for the entire two(2) days was 25 persons; location, facilities, food, cleanliness, ease of access etc... very good and worth the mention however, majority of the Pullman Magenta Shores Resort staff team members looked and acted as if they did not want to be there - with the exception of a few; this reduced the valued of the overall experience. not sure if we will be back next year. However, thank you to those individuals that understand what hospitality is about and how it impacts on the overall experience of the client.

The guest bathroom has a sewerage problem and smells. Originally it was locked but we were able to open it as there were 2 of us staying in the apartment. I don't believe it is a 5 star resort given the area is getting a little run down.

« This hotel grossly lets down the Pullman name »

Sorry this is longer than a few sentences!! My husband and I decided to spend our first night away from our children in 3 years with you to celebrate his birthday. It was probably the most dissatisfied we have been for a very long time. We get very little time together and never alone, so it was so disappointing. From the moment we checked in, there were alarm bells. There was a guest ahead of us checking in who was in a wheelchair and we overheard the lady at the front desk pointing out the tennis courts???!! Then counted them out for him. We were surprised to overhear this & thought it a little odd that she didn’t use her better judgement and use a little discretion. Upon arriving at our room, said man in wheelchair and his partner, also in a wheelchair were sitting outside the complex...very unimpressed as there was a step to get inside and they were unable to get in. They had been told that these were wheelchair friendly rooms & they had it booked for months. They had called reception and were told that someone was on their way to “build” them a ramp!!! We were disappointed for them and also concerned that the room wouldn’t be equipped for disabled guests (handrails and such in the bathroom) if they couldn’t even get in. We also had nowhere to park, due to another guest parking over the line into our designated spot. Upon entering our room, we noticed the filthy carpets with stains everywhere, dirty scuffed marked walls and hairs on the bed. We felt even more uncomfortable but decided to let it go and head up for our Couples massage. We got to the Vie Spa and my husband was sent out to the male change rooms near the pool and I went off to the women’s, I noticed I didn’t have reception, so when the assistant manager came and found me & said my husband wanted to see me, I knew something else had happened. He had tried several times to gain access to the changerooms near the pool and each time was met with unhelpful and borderline rude staff. Then once he finally gained access there were no locker keys and he noticed dirty bandaids and used underwear on the dirty wet floor, which smelled like urine. Very unpleasant and he tried calling me but I had no reception which is why I had to be found. When he approached the Assistant Manager she was argumentative and defensive, eventually agreeing to come find me. Of course by this stage my husband did not feel like having a massage (which his mum was organizing to pay for as a gift for him), I was actually asked to pay beforehand, which was odd. My husband expressed his dissatisfaction and said he didn’t wish to go ahead with his treatment bur Happy for me to still go. I was so upset as this was meant to not only be a relaxing unwinding weekend to celebrate some time to ourselves, but also his birthday and I wanted to be with him, so I said I didn’t want to go ahead with my treatment either. We were then informed because we were cancelling we would be charged 50%. When explaining to the Assistant Manager about the unacceptable state of the facilities she said that was not her area. Yet she should take responsibility if there are no male changerooms in her Spa. After approaching the front desk and explaining we were told they couldn’t help with the discrepancy of still having to pay 50% (after the assistant manager told us she would have to go upstairs to speak to her manager). We explained we were overall dissatisfied with everything so far... at that point had only been at the hotel 40mins!! One of the guys on the desk kept saying we should have come and told them... I kept explaining that we had only checked in half an hour ago but he wasn’t listening. Eventually Jessica came to speak to me and said she would see what she could do to put us in a better room... but I never saw her again. We noticed our friends in the wheelchairs were also back at reception looking very unhappy, so we concluded their makeshift ramp mustn’t have worked! Eventually we were given a different room & got inside and it was marginally better... however there was an infestation of ants, dust around carpets & on furnishings and I counted 8 spiders on the cornices. We decided to cancel dinner in the restaurant given the poor quality of the entire establishment so far. My husband travels the world for work and is usually a huge fan of Pullman hotels and Accor, but we were beyond dissatisfied and disappointed with our experience last weekend. Upon check out the next day Jessica apologized again for our experience and when I mentioned the spiders and ants in the new room, she said “that wasn’t the room that she would have put us in”. She gave me her details to let her know if we were returning so she could make our experience what it should have been. I appreciated the gesture, but it was too little, too late. We will not be recommending this hotel to anybody in the future & fail to see how it meets the Pullman standards. I will be writing reviews on social media platforms to warn fellows guest about what they are in for.

« Dissapointing and frustrating »

It took 6 phone calls to get a confirmed booking and then it was wrong. By the time I got hold of someone who could actually make a booking it was a week later and the room that was initially available was gone and we had to take a 3 bedroom villa at higher cost. Furthermore the lady taking the booking was sharp and rude and told me to take it or leave it. No-one rang or emailed back as promised and the whole exercise was frustrating and this did not improve at check in. The function we attended on Saturday night was badly managed with average food and insuffiecint staff on duty. (one person clearing the tables for 150 guests - ie all the plates were left on the tables)

We go to Pullmans Magenta Shores at least once a year and it's consistency is wonderful. We always enjoy our stay. I would like to mention the WONDERFUL breakfast staff during my visit. They were just so lovely and friendly. Great service of a nice resort but with friendly staff who made us feel so comfortable and at home.

The king size bed and huge ensuite made for a wonderful sleep and relaxing stay. The only down side was the poor choice of music in the restaurant, which we laughed about. We all loved the pools and even on coolish days (20-21deg) the outdoor pools were still comfortable to swim and have fun. We will be back next year!

We only stayed one night for a relatives wedding but the whole experience was lovely. The room was clean, comfortable and very roomy. The facilities were excellent, the food was delicious. All in all, wonderful!

« Nice resort, great facilities »

Love the location, and facilities, but found the customer service could have been better. Polite and fairly friendly, but didn't try very hard to accommodate for us. Also, the phone in the room didn't work, so hard to communicate at first.
