we went into the restaurant at around 7.45pm and there were approx 10 tables seated. we were told that to get a table their would be a wait of 25 minutes and were offered to go to the bar if we wanted something quicker. We went to the bar to have a look at the options there. Including ourselves there were four people in the bar area. We selected from the bar menu only to be informed by the bar staff that there would be a 40minute wait. I questioned this in disbelief. I proceeded to report the issue to the duty manager who was shocked to learn of my experience. The duty manager called the restaurant who informs to duty manager that we could have a table straightaway if we were to go back to the restaurant. I declined this offer as it should have been made when we first arrived. I informed the duty manager that I believed someone should be informed of the issues I was experiencing. Duty manager stated that the explanation given was that they had extensive orders for room service as it was steak night. I simply stated to the manager that the restaurant cannot possibly be serving every room or every second room for that matter with room service. In any event, if that was to be the case, it would appear to me that the restaurant and kitchen was poorly managed. I state this given my background as I’m a chef by trade of 22 years although now in an alternate field.

Check in was disappointing because even though we had booked and paid for the executive lounge the receptionist advised that we did not have accesss. I insisted that she re-check the booking, which she did, and then re-issued our keys so we could have access. The executive lounge service on both nights of our stay was excellent However compared to other executive lounges we have stayed at the selection of food offered was lacking. Also the carpet in this lounge was disgusting and not up to standard.

« Satisfactory but could amend a few things »

We had quiet a large group at the Pullman in preparation for my sisters wedding (which was wonderful by the way) and the staff their were very accommodating and professional. The only two things that I (personally) had issues wit was first- I had keep on replacing my room key because it wouldn't work in my room door-even though I kept it separate from my cell phone as suggested by the staff at Pullman's; The other issue I had was the room service food-the whole time I was there it was either very bland, without taste -or- it wasn't what either I or my family had ordered. There are pictures of meals on your room service menu and those pictures aren't what you serve, my grandmother and father both had meals that were inedible, they were very simple things like a toasted sandwich-very easy to get right-came to us ROCK hard and for my grandmother (Who was very embarrassed) admitted she couldn't eat it because of her dentures and even my sister who's wedding it was complained (And she is NOT a complainer) about the quality of food, it's lateness to the room and even its temperature tasted 'unsafe' as it was meat-related and she didn't want to run the risk of becoming sick on the eve of her wedding. But besides the food element of the stay-all in all the time there was satisfactory.

My daughter and I stayed at Pullman Albert Park for only one night but we had a beautiful room overlooking the lake and we could see the bay and the city from our room. The room was very clean and comfortable. We were both very impressed with the service we received at recepetion. The girls were very pleasant and helpful. The only downside was breakfast. The food was cold and we had to ask for platters to be refilled. Otherwise our stay was great. Will stay again.

Our room wasn't ready,that was ok we enjoyed a coffee. The coffee shop closed immediately,1pm Friday very strange i thought. Nothing to eat,no lunch in an international hotel,just an observation,we went to Southgate instead.

Overall my stay was great however I was on a business trip, upon check in my trip was pre-authorized on my corporate credit card and when it came to check out the front desk agent said the card was not going through. As a result I placed the trip on my personal credit card, only to find out that there was no issue with my corporate credit card (which has no limit) and that it was user error at the hotel.

Charged us twice - Booked "From The Heart Offer" but charged normal room rates. My credit card charged an additional $808. Called Pullman Albert Lake and spoke with Alice. Advised a fax will be sent to my bank to cancel charge but in the meantime my credit card has a $808 charge--great when I am on holidays. The charge was made the day I check in (23/09) not the day I checked out (26/09). I will report this to consumers affairs if this matter is not solved quickly

I am sorry that despite us taking a pre authorisation on check in we finalised the transaction without accessing these funds, this is not acceptable. Everything at the hotel was lovely. My room had a great view over Albert Park. The room was nice, clean and modern and bigger than a usual hotel room. Service was friendly and efficient. Breakfast was really great with lots of different options.
