Noisy hotel guests meant we didn't get the sleep and rest we so desperately needed...

We stayed 3 nights over the weekend. The whole purpose of staying at the Novotel Parramatta was to maximise the sleep my daughter and myself had over a very busy weekend. She is 16 and was in a very high energy show at the Riverside Theatre all weekend (and I do the make up for the cast of the show). Due to very noisy guests, we had 3 nights of interrupted sleep! The noisy guests that were seemingly (on the Saturday night at 2am) unfindable when I called several times in the very early hours! The night staff (on Saturday) claimed that they couldn't find the VERY noisy guests. I actually question if they went and looked because the noise coming into our room at 2am was unbearable! Not to mention that our heating was not working so we were also cold! On Sunday night when the noise started again at about 9pm I decided to ring early. The young lady came to my room to hear the obvious noise and then looked for where the noise was coming from. She then rang me in my room and told me that she had found the room and would give them a warning. The guests did quieten down temporarily but then started to get noisy again about 11pm. She warned them again and I think they then complied long enough for us to pass out with exhaustion! Last year we stayed at the Novotel and had a fantastic experience so expected the same this year so we even booked an additional night. So you can imagine how disappointed I am after this weekend. The day staff were good and you can't beat that breakfast!

Very Noisy Hotel

Have stayed with Novotel all over the place and to be honest, was disappointed in this Novotel. Buffet breakfast-very average, and majority of the staff were not very friendly. Had to wait to be seated for breakfast as waitress also trying to make coffee as well. Reception staff lovely, one bar staff member on Sunday night was lovely and the rest not so friendly. Some staff wearing sloppy joe's on Sunday night as I think they may have been short staffed and called in some help-who knows. The entire stay, they seemed to be short staffed in all areas. Extremely noisy hotel, especially with the carnival over the road for 3 nights till midnight or thereabouts, so not much sleep. Dinner at restaurant was nice on 2 occasions, felt a bit odd that the waiter gave us a Trip Advisor card with his name on it to rate restaurant though after our meal. Not sure I would stay at this hotel again, although very close to Bank West Stadium for the footy, and some really nice restaurants down the road.

Check in was confusing and not everything explained, lifts not working, no gym etc, hallway like a 1 star seedy cheap hotel, room adequate and food was inedible.

The hotel room we stayed in was fine. The bathroom looked like it was half way through renovating as a piece fell off the bath, and there was no clothesline. We stayed at a time when the winter festival was on across the road. It was quite noisy at night until late. If I had known this, I may have booked elsewhere as I had a child that was kept awake late.

Staff very hospitable, room very clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from that was well presented and cooked. The ladies looking after breakfast had exceptional people skills and nothing was a bother.

I waited over 9 minutes for a lift each time I had to use it. The worst was 18 minutes which in my opinion was ridiculous, especially I had to meet and greet business partners.

We always love our stay at Accor. It's the people who make it a great stay. Thank you to Urvashi and Tin for the upgrade and the fruit platter. It was a good stay and perfectly located in Parramatta. P.S. I am sure the management know that this hotel is dated and can do with a lot of updates.

It was okay, however somethings were strange. No lights in the ceiling and no lamps left on so I entered a dark room and had to fumble around in the dark to find a lamp to turn on as it is so far from the door. The ceiling in the bathroom was so low. The bathtub did not feel solid under my feet. I'm not tall and not heavy, I don't know how anyone taller than me would even if under the shower. The drains were not to good either. My collegues were also at the hotel and had similar issues with the lights and drains.

We had a very nice stay at the Novotel Parramatta and the Barramatta Gunya Room we were allocated was fantastic especially as it was NAIDOC week. We had a meal in the Motel and and were looked after very well. Yogesh served us and advised what to eat and the service and meal were excellent.

We chose Novotel as our Son was being married across the park, the hotel is in the perfect position! Staff were hospitable & courteous. Free parking for Accor members was an unexpected & welcome bonus. Breakfast was excellent with a comprehensive selection. The coffee was extremely disappointing (I chose tea on the second morning). Great to have a selection of newpapers to peruse, but please leave the magazines that accompany the papers (these were removed). Our room was spacious & comfortable. Only complaint is about the lighting in the bathroom, it is extremely dull.

Heard all outside noises, button on lift being pressed, doors being closed, toilets being flushed. Worst hotel noise I have ever experienced. I would not recommend for anyone to stay here

All the staff was very friendly and helpful. But my biggest problem was the dust...when I booked it, I hadn't any idea the Hotel was doing the upgrade. So, this created me a problem with my allergy, and I did not sleep well.

My husband and I stayed at a queen bedroom. The room was nice and clean. The staff were friendly and warm. However the room does not have slippers and toiletries such as body lotion, toothbrush and toothpaste. The room was not soundproofed. We can hear the noises when guests are walking and chatting as well as staff knocking nearby rooms for room service/cleaning in the hallway. The breakfast food is a big disappointment as they are not tasty and fresh.
