We arrived and were welcomed by a pleasant male receptionist, who dealt with our luggage. He advised on where to park and rang us when our suite became available. We were given room 1206, this was a corner suite which over looked both the botanical gardens on one side & the city view the other! Just amazing! The pool area was lovely & had a ‘Bali’ feel. Very well maintained & clean. Thank you again. This was a very special weekend for our friends 50th. Will definitely recommend. Look forward to the restaurant onsite reopening. Walking distance of the mall & all restaurants. Just lovely :)

Was disappointed that I was not informed that the hotel no longer had a restaurant- that an many other subtle things clearly showed the intent to close the hotel - real shame and impacted the level of service I normally get

We did not stay with Sebel Quay West only because we were booked in for next April and they will be changing to permanent residence apartments. We were contacted by the Operations Manager, Jessica James, who was exceptional in all of her assistance to find alternative accomodation. We have decided to stay at the Sofitel Brisbane Central and Jessica was able to organise this on our behalf.

My apartment was quiet and comfortable. Spacious and well equipped. The room staff were particularly helpful as were the staff on reception. Liked the opportunity to eat 'in house' if one felt like it and the room service from the dining room was very efficient, friendly and quick.

« inconvenient due to lifts not working and having to be relocated to another hotel. »

Lifts not working when we checked in. Had to wait for them to be fixed. Took 2 hours to get fixed then unable to use them because staff could not guarentee the safe functioning of them. Given our room was on the 17th floor of the hotel they relocated us to another hotel. We had a workshop that we were attending in the hotel so inconvient that we then had to get back the next morning.

Lovely place to stay staff beautiful but advertising false. No access allowed to pool or spa therefore would not have chosen this hotel. Although offered access to another hotel pool and spa this was too much of a bother.

« Great location, adequate sizing, suited our needs - just what we wanted »

Disappointed that the Bar Area was not open or being changed because of new scheming. We paid for breakfast - but was none available. Although the accommodation was great, with great location - reception during our stay on the afternoon of 3rd November was not up to the standard of the Hotel - in my opinion. My welcome pack could not be found - it was just given to me in a folded piece of information sheet. Unlike previous stay at check-in all keys and information was presented in an Accor small folder. Reception did not provide any further information except the time reception will not be manned. I had to ask for the WiFi information also. We found that the crockery was not adequate to suit the accommodation of up to 6x guests. eg There were 4x Mugs, 5x Cup and Saucers, 2x Wine glasses - I do remember there was more during our previous stay. The dishwasher housed the items used by guests the day before - they were not clean and the coffee cups/mugs still had coffee stains inside them. These are small details - but when there is not enough and cleanliness - will be remembered.

The room was considerably larger than i expected and the view over the Botanical Gardens was magic. Unfortunately, the Internet experience was some of the worst i have experienced in a hotel. As a business traveller who relies heavily on good quality Internet service, i was very disappointed.

We enjoyed it very much. The lifts were out of order for a few hours on Friday Oct 19th in the evening. When using the stairwell between Floors 20 and 21 we found that one door (20) was unlocked but the other (21) was locked. Your protocol for loss of elevator function was unclear.

The front office staff were marvelous and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. Sadly they were hugely let down by housekeeping where the staff seemed to do everything they could to avoid servicing our room on a daily basis. On the days when our room had not been serviced the excuses ranged from: all the housekeeping staff have gone home (at 2pm) and, we had the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door - which we definitely did not. Apparently the housekeeping is under contract at this hotel so I would definitely recommend a 'shake-up.

« A beautiful location, a quite and green spot in a busy city. »

Our reception experience was courteous and efficient, with check in early allowed. A lovely high room allocated with views to the river. A few negatives were noted by sister. Her finger went through the bath towel as they were very thin. There was some mould in areas of the shower & the waitress at breakfast was 'sniffing' regularly while serving us. I have stayed at the hotel on many occasions over the years. I love the location and charm of the hotel.
