Staff were wonderful. Helpful without being asked, and very pleasant to deal with. Negative: getting into/out of shower/bath tub can be a dangerous event...floor when wet, e.g. wet feet, becomes very slippery, and there are no grab bars to hold on to..really nothing to hold on to.There are no towel bars to hang wet towels/wash cloths on if you want to use them again; could save on hotel washing . Computer/printer in lobby would not let me access internet to check-in for airline; concierge staff had to do that for me.Cappuccino was great:)

Room was comfortable. Bathroom a little dated. It was suitable for a 2 day stay in city. Not overly impressed with breakfast and was not informed of breakfast discount if we had eaten there for the 2 days until we checked out.

We had a short stay at Novotel Sydney Central, and it is a place I would definitely stay again. Extremely family friendly and so well located in the city. My kids loved the breakfast and the heated swimming pool. The only shortcoming I felt was the room. It was small and functional (which is great), but it felt a little dirty. This isn't a complaint about the cleaning service - this was perfect. It is more that you could see black marks and grime around the ceilings and at the edges of the walls / carpets / windows, as though when they were refurbished, any mould and dirt was just covered up and not properly cleaned out.

The staff were friendly, the foyer was lovely and the cookie was a lovely gesture as was the ability to check-in straight away. Sadly beyond this there were some disappointments. Firstly the shower was not working correctly and the taps had come away from the wall. The paint on the back of the bathroom door was badly peeling, the bedsheets didn't fit the bed, the curtain was torn, the curtain pull was broken and quite sharp, the carpet was littered with burns and rough areas and then at 8.44 one morning someone opened the door to our room while I was going yoga pretty much naked! I don't know which of us was more shocked! It is clear to me that the hotel was once beautiful and well used and that over time it has become fairly run down in areas and is on the verge of renovations, its a shame that at this time the experience of visitors is substandard by the measure of other hotels in the brand group that I have stayed at.

The staff of the hotel were pleasant and accommodating. I even got sent up a complimentary desserts plate (from Lydia) when I tweeted that I'd like a late night dessert as I'd been at work meetings all day. The staff were extremely professional and pleasant. Disappointed that the bar staff closed the bar at approximately 1030hrs on Sunday evening whilst there were still guests wanting refreshments, I recognize this may be due to licensing requirements. This was compounded by the fact there were no alcohol refreshments within the mini bar. The room décor was dated and requires upgrading considering I was supposed to be in a King deluxe room. All that being said I enjoyed my stay.
