Very good. A bit of noise from the refit in the restaurant. I also wasnt made aware that I could order meals in the bar so went to an external restaurant for dinner. Upon returning I saw the other guests eating in there. I would have eaten in house if I had known. It isn't an issue but has obviously cost you a meal.

« A potentially pleasant stay ruined by renovation work »

At the time of booking our stay, we (myself and my teenaged daughter) had no indication there were renovations taking place that enveloped the entire building in scaffolding, and caused interruptions by builders outside our window from 6:30am (which distressed my daughter quite badly), not to mention bizarre sounds from the scaffolding at night. We were also under the impression the venue had a pool, which apparently has been under repair for two years. When we discussed it with the manager, he had little to offer apart from "looking into it", which resulted in a form letter about the renovations being left in our room. It really was a shame, as the staff were otherwise lovely and the room, a twin single, would otherwise have been quite good. In the end, i stayed in the room, whilst i found an alternative place for my daughter to stay with friends.

« Reception staff welcoming. Night concierges fantastic, Mike & Donna helped us with where to go what to see etc. Sooo very helpful & always there to take time for our group. »

Disappointed that EVERY day we had to ask for an extra towel set , as we had 3 ladies in one room. Had to for extra cup & glass. Kettle had to b replaced as it leaked 1st night. Light on bedside table needed new globe 1st night. Tbags & sugar not replenished. Not impressed with day room staff. Night housekeeping did the runaound for us very pleasant & helpful. Disappointed the bar closed early one night cause it was slow, after seeing Priscilla we were all looking forward to some drinks. The staff were still in the bar! Breakfast girl was miserable a real effort to serve us. The toasted banana bread was cold inside. But rooms were great even with the scaffolding. We shall stay again despite the room staff. Night staff were exceptional whether they saw us at 4 or at 11pm. Always happy & smiling. They made our stay!!!

I had a very enjoyable overnight stay at the Mercure. Staff were friendly and helpful and my room was clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel was also very convenient for me with easy access to most of the locations that I needed or wanted to visit.

One night stay. Very little usage of facilities as was in and out for business. However, check-in and out was pain free. Room was clean and comfortable. Coffee shop hit the mark for early morning get away to meeting. Bonus points for having skirt hangers!

Can't fault my experience, was only a one night stay but was very comfortable. Was impressed with how prompt and on time the breakfast order came - that made a huge difference. Check in and check out was quick and easy - I asked lots of questions and reception staff were more than happy to answer all of them and explain everything I asked.
