« Excellent customer service, great location »

This hotel has great customer service. From beginning to end, the staff went above the call of duty. The check in was easy and the young lady at the desk made us feel special. The breakfast was better than expected, the staff there pleasant and helpful. The rooms there are in need of an upgrade. The bathroom is dated and the whole room needs some TLC. But the location couldn't br better. You're right next to the Sydney Opera House and the train station. The Royal Gardens are right across the street. If they update the rooms, this property would be 5 star.

Started very badly with a walk around the block when there was no sign next to the lifts to direct me to reception. When I rang the bell, I was told to go outside and around to Macquarie St when I was actually about 10 m from reception! Everything else was the standard I would expect.

Enjoyed the quick walk to the hotel from Circular Quay station. I know the hotel but some signage on the jetty side is required. The staff are friendly and attentive and the room spacious and perfect for medium term stays.

All staff encountered was lovely and helpful. We were given a complimentary champagne for our Bachelorette night which was a nice touch. Awesome that hotel allowed us to decorate room to make the night extra special for our bride to be. View was amazing and sofa bed was convenient for 3 people. Only cons were having one elevator working which made going in and out of the hotel slow and room aesthetics is slightly outdated for the price.

Staff are well trained, welcoming and courteous. I was in room 808. Dining table had wobbly legs. Sun blinds were dirty and didn't go up and down easily. Bathroom cabinets shabby, veneer peeling off the bottom. carpet has stretched and has ripples in it. Minibar charges were too expensive, way above what other hotels charge. For a five-star hotel in such a prominent location, the room is starting to get a rundown feel. For the room rate, the presentation should be better. I called prior to arrival to ensure that there was Bluetooth connectivity for music, but the speaker was so pathetic it couldn't be used. It was in an alarm clock beside the bed which meant couldn't even be heard in the living room. Staff did find me a better option, but as I had specifically enquired about this I thought the standard equipment on offer was pretty pathetic. A good music system should be standard in a beautiful room and lovely location, as guests would generally like to enjoy the ambience.

Good experience in general; great customer services by staff and good facilities. Slight issue with the blinds looking a bit aged and dusty; the carpet and bedding is also a bit dusty (I'm slightly allergic to dust and my nephew's sock was stained as soon as he ran on the carpet without shoes so it made this really obvious to me). I can also see some old stains (looks like it just wasn't breached) on the bedding and tower. I traveled quite a bit for work so I have half expected and prepared for this type of things but it will be great if this can be improved in the future. Thanks.
