« Wow, what a great place to stay. »

If you are in a rush, this place is not for you. If you have time to enjoy the surroundings and don't mind a bus ride to your accommodation, this is an excellent choice. The rooms are good and the food is outstanding.

« Disappointing »

We checked in which was a difficult process when we checked. Finally after checking in, with 4 adults and 2 children and a 3 month old we needed to change rooms from some plumbing issues the following morning - the maintenance man was the most helpful and friendly of all the staff. The dinner at boilerhouse was slow and disappointing. The cost for a 3 bedroom room for sat night at $990 - I have hired penthouses cheaper and the rooms were very basic! The staff were elusive when questioning the bill and it took 3 days for them to clarify for me. Would not stay here again thats for sure!

« sleep quality affected by lights shining into my room, free WiFi package incredibly slow »

I was assigned a room (# 54) which was quite brightly lit by security lighting on the walkway outside my room. The light from the walkway shone directly into my eyes when lying on the bed, and could not be blocked out, as the window panes above the doors, that let the light in, had no blinds. After the first night I contacted reception to request a different rom. I was told that all rooms were fully booked but that they would send someone to "have a look" at the problem. When I returned to my room in the evening, clearly nobody had even been to tidy my room, let alone do anything about the window. I contacted reception again, and the housekeeping was attended to later that evening, but the problem with the windows was not fixed, or followed up in any way. I know next time to bring ear plugs and eye mask when I stay at the property. I also now know that I cannot rely on the complimentary WiFi package to allow me to do even basic things like check in to my flight, within a reasonable time.

« Relaxing with good service »

All good - a few suggestions: an alternative style of eggs for breakfast; coffee machine is useless for large group of people. A sunlounge on verandah would be good for lazing back and reading a book. We arrived back at room at 1pm on one of the days and cleaning staff were still making their way through rooms - we stayed on verandah to allow them access to our room. However, they simply bypassed us - they did return later to ask if we needed anything but we said not to bother as they had no intention of doing the full clean. Tours - too much overlap of content with ghost tour and wharf wanderer: you don't need to do both, which is a shame.

« Something a little bit different »

a very interesting place to visit , with lots of history regarding the early settlement of the area . all the staff on site are very good but we found it a bit awkward to have to ring for the shuttle bus all the time to enter or exit the site as you have to leave your vehicle in the car park at the top of the hill, Just up at the heads it was interesting to visit the artillery FORT , but sad to see the old cemetery so badly overgrown and neglected . A135 bus will take you to this site from opposite MANLY peir .

« Tucked away oasis »

Great to see birds, animals in bushland so close to city. Serene but sad energy considering the past, many spirits. Love to know more about area from the local Aboriginals before Cook brought the diseases.

Awesome place to explore day and night. Sofa bed has a very hard mattress. Restaurant had no gas so dinner time was not as good. Always on the look out for ghosts but sadly didn't see any however seen lots of rabbits, fairy penguin tracks and an echidna keeping the children happy.

« Started terribly and ended up ok »

I was placed in the disabled room. There are multiple issues with this room. When you shower, within 3 seconds, the water is surrounding the toilet and coming back to you. This is completely unhygienic and you should not have to bring thongs to shower in your own hotel room. On top of this i had no hot water in the shower. I was told to leave it on for 5-10 min to get hot water, which is ridiculous and by this stage the water was flooding under the door on to the carpet . I had to shower in my hand basin which had hot water. Again ridiculous. Maintenance came and left mud everywhere and said i should shower earlier. Since i started my shower at 5am again this is ridiculous. After a few requests i was finally moved to a new room. I did note they put someone else in the room the next night. This room should be altered to fix these issues. The waitress at breakfast was nothing but rude. To the point that we walked down to Manly for breakfast purely to be great and treated in a friendly manner. After our organiser complained, they put a new staff member on for the breakfast and she was absolutely lovely. In addition, the food menu was exactly the same as our stay a month earlier. When you are doing multiple stays at the same place due to the course you are on, you expect variation in the menu, but we had the same combinations for both lunch and dinner. When you are in Sydney, this is not ok. Unfortunately these experiences meant i would never recommend this hotel.

Loved the area, setup and history. Also, asked Jennifer at reception to change my room to be closer to my C. team post allocation, and although she told me that Qstation was almost at capacity, she was able to fulfil my request and provide a great room.... Thank you Jennifer.

We enjoyed our stay and would like to come back to explore the site. Our only issue was breakfast as there was a limited amount of seating and we had to sit outside. As it was a cool morning not a great place to sit.

I have stayed at Q Station for work quite often - we run some of our leadership programs there. It's a great venue in many ways. The food was not as good this time as in the past. In particular too much of the same dish or close variations served in consecutive meals
