« Boiler house staff ruined the whole experience »

The staff at the boiler house were incredibly rude. They did not want to accommodate for my dietary needs. I called in advance and asked if this could be accommodated for, which I was assured it would not be an issue. I overheard the staff complaining and outright insulting me. At one point, they loudly said 'vegan' and then three members of the staff looked over at me while laughing. The next night I ordered takeaway pizza. I asked for some extra vegetables and no cheese. The man taking my order said 'I'll put in your request, but it's up to the chef if they do it or not'. This was the most ridiculous comment - I asked that he make sure it was an option before I paid. He then went to the kitchen and returned saying it was fine. The kitchen staff once again were overheard insulting me. When I returned to my room, I discovered my pizza covered in Cheese. I feel it was absolutely intentional. The shuttle drivers and breakfast staff were polite and professional. The tour guide was fabulous - very knowledgeable and engaging. The accommodation was nice, however we were not given the room promised in our Luxury Escapes package (package specifies 'private balcony'). Overall, if not for the experience at the boiler house, it would have been a lovely trip. As a result of my dining experience, I would strongly recommend that no one stay at your accommodation. Not worth the absurd behaviours of those incredibly unprofessional (and clearly miserable) kitchen staff.

Staying at the Q Station was very relaxing, rooms were comfortable, although felt a little drab. Breakfast provided was good, although a selection of either poached or fried eggs would have been nice too. Boiler Room Restaurant was great - lovely staff, and food fantastic. Did find the whole property a little 'run down' and thought maybe some more plant gardens around the accommodation would have enhanced the venue. I understand it is a Heritage Listed property and as such, renovations and upkeep have to be kept to a certain standard, but as a Tourist accommodation facility it does have to have more going for it as it is competing with a lot of other tourist destinations around the Harbour City. I thought maybe a Pool facility on the grounds would be popular with families staying as well. Not sure how this would fit in with Heritage listing. All in all, good value, amazing views and plenty of walking trails to do around the site. Thank You Caterina G.

« Wonderful experience!! Very interesting and overall a great weekend!!! »

We weren't expecting the weekend to be so good. The staff were wonderful, the accommodation was very comfortable and clean. The food in the Restaurant was above our expectations, it was delicious and beautifully presented. We enjoyed every meal we had. We did a History Tour and it was so well done and very interesting (we wouldn't have known the history of the Q Station and the early Sydney diseases and how well the Q Station protected Sydney). We also did a Ghost Tour which we all had a Great experience (Jake was the tour guide and was amazing). The whole weekend was thoroughly enjoyable.

« A new expierence for an eighty year old man! »

We only stayed for two nights, we had no problem and used the bus extensively.......wife had a bad knee...... my wife had organised [secretly] an old classmate from 1950 to turn up on the Saturday night and my son turned up from back from England! ..........atmosphere was fine in the boilerhouse. Slight problem as the room was not serviced until after four P.M.

« One of the best weekends we have had »

The view from our room unbelievable. Very clean but small although I expected it considering where we were staying. The staff and I mean everyone from reception to bus drivers, restaurant, breakfast, tour guides were the best people we have come across. I would recommend 100%. One thing crossed off my bucket list and did not disappoint. If staying I recommend Bella Vista Cafe just up the road for beautiful food and service.

We booked through Luxury Escapes, not knowing anything really about Q station. The whole experience, learning an important part of our Australian history, as well as enjoying the beautiful National Park, walks, peace and quiet, and then also being a ferry ride away from the city for a visit. Wonderful.

Overall excellent. We were disappointed with the restaurant. Although the food taste and presentation was excellent the portion size would not feed a 5 year old. Please put something else on the plate to make the fish portion at least appear to be more of a meal size.

DO NOT PUBLISH THIS - BUT THERE IS NO OTHER FIELD TO ENTER ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK The food was amazing - I was here for a conference (also this is why I cannot rate the value of the accommodation as I didn't pay for accommodation as such). Two issues: towels and linen were replaced every day and I specifically followed instructions to hang my towels up so that they would not be replaced. This really irritates me when cleaners replace linen even though the venue policy is to be environmentally friendly through not replacing linen. I even put the 'do not disturb' sign on my door in an effort to not have the cleaners replace my linen and it was still done. I also filled in the form to have a light-globe replaced on the first night, and this was never replaced, even though the form was taken away. It is a gorgeous venue and I would love to go back for another conference. PLEASE DO NOT PUBLISH THIS ON YOUR WEBSITE.

it was enjoyable, i really liked the surrounds for my early morning walk, i enjoyed all the food over the 2 days for lunches, morning & arvo tea & breakfast sometimes waiting for the bus was a bit lengthy & only one extra blanket was not enough for me - i did ask for another & it was delivered

« A fascinating location made even better by helpful, friendly staff, particularly those providing transport. »

This is a very unusual site for a quality hotel. A great deal of planning, thought and modifications have been done to the buildings which were designed for another purpose. The freedom to walk around the site and to participate in a tour of the facilities were nice features. The room was clean, neat and functional. Access to the CBD via the Manly Ferry makes it a great place to stay.
