Pleasantly surprised on an upgrade on check in. Staff very helpful. Unique experience considering the history and location of the property. Fantastic vistas and lots of natural wildlife to experience. Breakfast option very harty. Almost private beach. 24/7 transfers around the property commendable. Rooms very nicely appointed. Some maintenance issues highlighted to reception.

« Wonderful with magnificent views »

A relaxing weekend taking in the sites of Q Station, with it's magnificent views. We enjoyed the tour it was great to hear about the history of Q Station. The breakfast each morning was delicious, a verity of breakfast treats especially the bircher muesli Yum! The staff where friendly and the room was clean, my only negative the bed was a little hard for me, but that my personal choice.

« Very informative, comfortable and relaxing stay with fine food. »

After a lovely trip across Sydney Harbour, you relax into your comfortable accommodation, in our case a three bedroom original cottage before commencing our education of the Q Station. This education came in the form of two tours, both presented by knowledgeable tour guides. The first during the day and the second a ghost tour after sunset. The stories told were informative, entertaining and a little spooky. Dinner at the Boiler House restaurant is "A" class and it is only a short trip to Manly or Watson's Bay by Ferry for more fine food. To top it all off you have the most spectacular views of Sydney Harbour from all areas of the Q Staion.

Stay was far below expectations and won’t be returning for a stay. Elderly Woman on duty by the visitor center has no concept of customer service. What a disappointment. The rooms are far from comfortable, spacious and have no air conditioner. We had 33-37c temperatures that weekend. Rooms were poorly cleaned and not refreshed or glasses washed. Neighbours on both sides and not enough privacy. Breakfast was included but after day one, there’s no way you could eat that again. One option of scrambled eggs and the workstation was so cramped for the communal eating layout.

Stayed for one night only. Was able to explore north head and understand a little about history and memorials. Weather was in mid 30's. Facilities struggled to cope with this - particularly the conference area and sleeping quarters for the night. No air conditioning is fine - but - ceiling fans were noisy and there was no ability to open windows (could only open the doors which makes one feel insecure. Would be attend again on basis of history and location.

« Great stay - as always »

This was my third stay at Q-Station and I really enjoyed it again. The one recommendations I would make for improvement is to add some bedside lights to the room (1A) as the only option was overhead lights on or off which seemed a little odd for what was otherwise such a nice room. I also had to strip and remake the bed to do up the zip that connected the twin beds into a queen. The zip was undone and created a very noticeable ridge in the bed - adding a mattress topper to cover this would also have solved the issue. Staff were brilliant and helpful as always.

Overall loved it, will come back for sure. However, the reception staff were some of the most rude unenthusiastic workers I have ever dealt with. Definitely didn't go "above and beyond" or even make it to average. Every phone call made me feel uncomfortable because everything seemed like such an effort for them. I ended up asking house keeping who I would find in the streets (who were amazing). Being part of a bridal party there was a few little things needed (not a big ask, tea bags and wine glasses) and nothing was delivered or again "a sigh on the phone" There was one comment which really got me, receiving the wine glasses the minute we had to leave for the wedding ( 2-3hrs after we called twice for them) we mentioned we were here for a wedding and just wanted everything to run smoothly. The response of the receptionist - "We do weddings here all the time" - okay well we don't have weddings all the time so way to make us feel so special. Their jobs seemed like it was just work with a bit of cash in their pockets rather than enjoying what they did/experience. I recommend a customer service course or hire staff who generally like people.

While there was no sitting room in our building we did have access to the first class lounge. Great view across to Balmoral and the Brush Turkeys andthe Kookaburras were very friendly. Can you keep the Kookaburra's away fromthe plover chicks. We had an interesting Chefs dinner at the Boiler House, was worth trying but the selection was not all to our taste.
