« Love the Q Station »

We have stayed here many times as it is so relaxing and the staff are lovely. This time we were celebrating 4 May Birthdays so a number of us stayed over night. The group had 4 rooms and a cabin. The cabins are great it is like having a holiday house. Beds, lounges and TV to keep grandkids amused. Even a large fridge to keep beers,wines and party food. The cabin was booked for a week and the rooms just for the one night of the party. Having the cabin was incredible as we all had somewhere to congregate and rest the day after the party. We will be back soon.

Very relaxing, love the setting. Staff were just woderful - friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent, and the courtesy bus service efficient.

« Nice but not exceptional »

I appreciate the facility is a complex of heritage buildings, but it is run down and in need of maintenance, including the meeting rooms. The meals were average in quality. The service at all levels slow particularly dinner in the Boilerhouse Restaurant. One of the guest lounges should be turned into an intimate bar for those who don't want to take the long walk to the Boilerhouse (to discover it is not open yet).

« Lovely location »

The location is fantastic and love the heritage buildings. I think its a fabulous way to continue to use the site. My room was looking a little tired and in need of a spring clean (ceiling fan very dusty) and the door locking mechanism didn't make me feel very secure in the room. Luckily I knew I had colleagues in the rooms either side so felt safe as a result. The rates were very reasonable but I don't think increasing them to fund some renovations would reduce bookings.

« A unique location in Ausralia »

We enjoyed the location, the dinner at the Boilerhouse, the complimentary tour of the wharf site and the peace and quiet which was a welcome relief after a trip to China. We were concerned that the doors were not secure on our room, no in house safe was provided, room size was necessarily small due to the original buildings but it made dealing with two large suitcases difficult. For a peaceful and unique experience we would recommend this and are likely to return. We would have made more use of the Hop on Hop off ferry if we were more aware of it initially. Getting to Manly itself from here is a problem if you don't have a car or someone you know with transport.

Love the site, love the history... You guys need som edecent coffee making capability and some room service after hours... Also the 3rd Classs Buildings (Asiatic Wing) was a pretty average beuikding to work in....

« Great weekend getaway »

Stayed for our anniversary. Room was comfortable and equipped with all we needed. Breakfast options and dinner at the boilerhouse were lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Shuttles were prompt and a great service - needed at this site. Negatives: Needed another waitstaff at Boilerhouse for dinner. They were stretched so the wait was a little long as there was a mixup with our table entree order not being called away ontime, and our bill was paid by someone from another table which delayed us from leaving. Lost my sunglasses near the boilerhouse and they were not found... :-( Wifi is very tricky to get onto if you have a Mac - noone could help but we figured it out eventually. more instructions needed in this case and shared knowledge by staff.

We enjoyed the peace and tranquility so close to the city and to Manly. We did find the room a bit small with very little space for clothes. We were not just local visitors but on a longer trip. Staff were pleasant. Good breakfast.

« Up to usual high standard »

This was our fourth stay at Q Station and we very much enjoyed the experience (again). Reception staff, shuttle drivers were very friendly and accommodating. Our room in P12 had the great views down the harbour to the cbd- very pleasant sitting out on verandah, at least for the first couple of days until the gales and rain started! The Boilerhouse dinner was very good- we were the only diners! Walks on North Head and Manly area very enjoyable.

« A surprise »

Loved the authenticity of the place. Beautifully restored without being boringly 5 star. Easy to get around with 24 hour shuttle bus, just call and they are there within minutes. Great spot on the habour. Spotted 3 echidna. If you want to go into Manly there is a ferry warf. Easy down stairs to the beach, then shuttle bus back when your ready. Easy!

« Met the need for seclusion and privacy close to the city »

Excellent service at reception and in conference. Perfect setting for my needs which was a private conference for 9 pax but lack of privacy due to paper thin walls was a problem for the senior corporates I had with me.

It was a very nice setting with great breakfast venue. Boiler room was a nice dinner but restaurant was cold although heating was available. Room was well appointed generally but poor lighting.

« Quirky, interesting, beautiful. »

Amazing trip for my mum's 60th. The view from our cottage was just wow! The gesture of a card and bottle of wine for my mum from the office was a very grateful suprise. We had the best time ever. Would definitely come again. We found the Q Station by accident last year and were dubious at first and a little freaked out, thinking we'd booked a motel in a rush but the character and beauty of the place gave us the best shock and drew us back. Negatives: In the al a carte restaurant-small, over priced meals that do not come with any veg or potato which have to be purchased separately, which hikes up the price...but the food does taste beautiful. No chicken options and no choice to purchase a meal from the Engine room menu. I was told I could sit downstairs on my own to order the other menu! The heaters and plug sockets on the walls of the cottage, loose and hanging off the wall.
