« Food below. Bedding Wire no padding. Description view wrong. Maintenance did not fix light. »

Relax on balcony good. View not was as described by staff as she said we could see over the roof but could not . Food at restaurant insufficinat fish 2 by 3 cm not much else on plate. Cafe nothing gluten free. Ghost walk excellent. Cars every ten mintues however told they came every 10 minutes but then told last day we had to call. Conflicting story. Pizza room service menu $25. However got charged 30 when we checked out and the staff member could not find his boss to tell me why. Maintenance did not come back or call to fix an annoying fickering light. Overall.a.six.

We have stayed with you 3-4 times but this time we were put in P21 room 80 with no view. One of our many reasons for staying there is your usually great staff views and great rooms. I did go to reception and told a young man who was very pleasant and appeared to be going to help with another room until a young lady stepped in and insinuated that we should be happy to have a new refurbished room which had no drawers and only 6 coat hangers on a rail, then there was wifi none had the nerve to tell us there was an electrical strike at Christmas that is why we had no WIFI which I believe was not true in fact we believe it is not connected to the room as other rooms had WIFI, anyway we ended up leaving on our 2nd night

The location was beautiful and the history very interesting however, we found the shared verandah noisy and not private enough. Although the shuttle bus was efficient - it was frustrating not having our car available. The rooms were also a bit stuffy and our phone didn't work.

« Lovely setting. Interesting history »

Enjoyed our stay but found getting down and back to the restaurant/wharf area not that easy for my husband who has a slight mobility issue. The choices are either 322 steps, steep road or calling for a shuttle bus. Unfortunately we missed our planned trip to Manly on the fast ferry as the shuttle bus couldn't take us there directly.

Staff were really friendly and attentive, even delivering us the uber eats that we ordered. Rooms were extremely clean, comfortable and modern. The site itself was gorgeous, in pristine condition and welcoming to exploration.

« Enjoyed the setting and the historical aspects. »

Very quiet.Polite staff. Liked the tours, the restaurant, the shuttle, the breakfast, views, birds, location. Room had a very musty, mouldy smell. Don't know if all the rooms are like that because of age of buildings? Dehumidifiers in rooms would probably help. Other solution? Left our mobile charger in room, plugged in near fridge. We'd like to collect it. Can you please ring me and tell me if you have it please. M 04…. Rang reception and was told it would be put aside if it was found. Know we left it there. I phone charger Thankyou.

« Historic and beautiful location - let down by tired rooms »

We are a family of six (four children) and so we booked a 3 bedroom cottage. Be warned that the cottages are not air conditioned and some windows are nailed/painted shut and there are no fly screens on doors or windows that do open. We arrived on a very hot afternoon and this made for a very uncomfortable start to our stay. We asked reception to be moved to an alternate room with ventilation, but was advised that none of the rooms were any different due to the heritage nature of the property and that we should turn on the ceiling fans. Obviously we had already tried that but all it did was circulate the hot air. We were also advised we should attend the Engine Room bar which would be open for casual dining, however there was a private function and we had to travel into Manly to get dinner.The Views restaurant does not accept bookings for breakfast so it is pretty chaotic in the mornings, and we were unable to get a table on the second morning at all. We did enjoy a meal at the Engine Room the following evening and it was pretty good.I have stayed in the past with just my husband in a queen room, and on that occasion the stay was much more pleasant, the room of better quality. It is a good place to base yourself to explore Sydney - but be aware the Fast Ferry service to Q Station is pretty limited and you will need to get back to Q Station via other means after the last ferry service.

« A nice setting for family break away »

We stayed in S6 a three bed cottage. We arrived on a very hot day, and found that two the bedrooms had windows that were unable to open. Reception advised this was due to the heritage nature of the rooms. My four kids and husband blamed me for not researching the room properly. There was a private function on at the bar - despite reception advising me we could attend the bar and claim a free drink and get dinner - this was not the case. We were unable to book a table for breakfast - told to just turn up - and the room was too busy to get a table both mornings. The room would have been ok if the windows could open, I understand not having a/c in a heritage room but the windows should open, especially in summer.

Didn't know what to expect but, found our somewhat rustic 'luxury' cabin room was a delight... far enough from the madding crowd of the buffet breakfast milieu whilst being just next door... Staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay a real pleasure. Thankyou.

« Great mix of history and practicality »

Great stay in one of the new blocks. A few issues with the first room but we were promptly moved. Accommodation great, transportation excellent, Boiler House very good, loved the tour, only room for improvement is with the breakfast service. More staff needed and better organisation to clear tables and seat new guests. Perhaps consider sittings when super busy.

fantastic venue. great bar and restaurant. enjoyed the history. loved the beach. good sized room. room a little dusty. bathroom access in room very annoying, door was heavy and not opening well, not needed really. shower very cramped and sprayed everywhere. bathroom ventilation was poor. despite these minor grievances, we enjoyed our stay and plan on returning.

Experience for nieces wedding was very good. forgot to hand in Maintenance form. was in cottage S1 it would have been beneficial to have a toaster in the kitchen. We also only had three bath towels for six people. (discovered within 1 hour of check out.) Needed more towels

Reception with Jimmy 10/10. Loved every bit of the location, Boiler House, transport, serenity. The room however was disappointing: bath taps broken, bathroom blind home to spiderwebs. Our foldout bed was not made as promised and after two calls at 11pm someone turned up with linen... no pillows. Breakfast amazing.

« Always memorable. »

Fantastic location. Staff pleasant, always helpful. We were there New Years Eve & stayed the night. The only letdown was the "after party". There was no organisation when we were all moved up to the Hospital Precinct. Thank you also for the upgrade. It was a pleasant surprise.
