We are going on 8 years old and I'm pleased to inform you that we are starting a re-refurbishment of the hotel lobby, bistro, bar and corridors. All our guest rooms are also getting a soft re-refurbishment including curtains, new chairs and cushions. Construction starts next month. We hope to welcome you back to Newcastle on your next visit. « good hotel which is helped by the great location »

Check-in was easy, helpful reception person who gave us a map of the area. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom clean and functional. TV was disappointing with very few watchable channels. Sunday morning breakfast was good for a dollar but won't have paid more. The bistro area was very crowded and had to wait for a table. too cold to sit outside. The spa is very small, a family with two adults were in it with two kids and there was no room for anyone else! Check-out was easy.

The hotel is clearly made of cheap construction materials and corridors are not well maintained/cleaned. The rooms have very little character with insufficient seating for two people inside. On the plus side, those rooms with balconies can sit outside, if it is warm enough. Food is pretty average, with some staff very friendly and others stone faced.

From the first contact when booking accomodation the reception staff were extremely helpful. The rooms were great, breakfast was enjoyable and very affordable with children, and the location fantastic.

Booked the vest available room to be overlooking a car park and not much of a view. This was for my wedding night and was not overly impressed with the room location. I wanted the best of the best considering I paid for that.

Always attentive and helpful staff. Whilst many Accor hotels I stay in give very little recognition to loyal clients staff at Novotel go above and beyond. On a recent trip to Newcastle on the Beach Melinda and Jamie on reception on my evening of arrival went out of their way to have loyalty points from stays I recently had at other Accor hotels credited to my account. Until that time I gave very little credibility to the loyalty system given poor staff at previous Accor hotels who essentially stated don’t worry about them they have no value. Hence as a regular traveller and someone who had only recently decided to try Accor I was ready to discontinue except for the young women’s great service. Not sure I’ll stay at Accor in cities where greater choice, but Novotel at Newcastle will always be a YES given staff like Melinda and Jamie.
