« Great location »

Great location with gorgeous view of the park. Stayed in newly refurbished room on executive floor. Room lacked bedside lamps and had a few problems with the bathroom. The executive lounge was being refurbished so a corner of dining room with long tables set up was used. This was awful but the lovely waiter who greeted us with our usual drink on Thursday and Friday night was delightful. The pool was unfortunately not heated and freezing and the pool lounge chairs horribly hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was ordinary especially the paper cups for juice and the service wasn’t much better with not even an offer of coffee on some days. I think there is potential for it to be a good 4 star hotel but all of the things I mentioned need to be addressed.

« Wonderful stay in Sydney »

I chose the Sydney Hyde Park for its central location and quiet spot, across from a beautiful park. The hotel itself was good. A bit more of a business hotel, than a holiday hotel. Everything was good. The location, on block from the train stop, was perfect. We even picked up a tour and the meeting point was only a couple of blocks away. We walked from Sydney Harbour quite a few times and even took the bus to Bondi beach just 1/2 block away.

Room was clean, comfortable bed, i noticed few defects in the room, would requir repair: shower head dial was broken, i couldn’t get water flow out of the bath tap, noticed the iron water reservoir lid was missing. I could hear too much noise from the lifts throughout the night

Convenient location. Nice clean rooms. Friendly staff. Good customer service experience. The only issue was the very long waiting time at the ground floor bar at 10.30 on Saturday night because only one barman was one and there was a large queue.

The room was comfortable with a good view of the park and everything you need. Check in staff friendly. It would be good to have a fan in the bathroom as the room steams up. As I was travelling with elderly mother we noticed there is a trip hazard from hall to bathroom and getting into the bath for a shower is not easy as the grab rail is next to a step. Complimentary water and better instant coffee or preferably a pod machine would be great. Other than that all good

It was disappointing to have issue with in room dining order taken incorrectly and an hour and half receive the correct order. Someone came to the room in the interim who was aggressive in dealing with this - we were not expecting her, and again failed communication. To compensate we offered a drink - No acknowledgement of ruined evening being hour and half late meal.

« Nice Property, good location, facilities average »

The hotel is very nice and looks great. On arrival found my reservation was in under the family name D. First name R...... no one seemed able to swap this around. I know Opera allows for you to update guest details and this is generally an easy ask of any GSA. The TV in the room did not work, we had maintenance come to the room and got it working but by morning was not working again. WiFi was not accessible and while my device showed the network and full strength the network was not available and neither my partner or I could connect. Breakfast on Sunday morning was very good with a nice selection, however if you have an omelette station it needs to operated effectively waiting the 30+ mins is not a positive experience or highlights what I am sure is a popular and well received breakfast option.

The check in counters were cramped up in one corner and if there are 3 in 1 line you'd have reached the seating area, the seating area is too close to the counters, the ground floor bar looks small and uninviting to me, europcar in the corner does make the hotel look abit tacky.

It’s the third time this year we have stayed at Hyde Park Hotel. We love the location, the room, the amazing breakfast. However we have in the past really enjoyed watching movies in the room. This service is no longer available. Unfortunately this is a deal breaker for us. We are sad to try an find another hotel in Sydney CBD to stay in. Thank you

My overall stay was quite pleasant. I would like to mention a couple of things. The rooms are quite stuffy. I did find it difficult sleeping as I felt there very little air in the room. The other is that I ordered room service on one of the nights. This was a fish dish. When I came back into the room the following evening, the tray was still in the room, consequently the room smelled very fishy. Other than that the stay was pleasant, staff were very helpful.

I think that the location of the hotel is excellent but I believe that that rooms need a bit of attention to bring them up to the standard I would have expected. I have no complaints about cleanliness but little details make a big diffence and things like curtains not closing properly or cables hanging down and visible could be looked at. During our stay we asked at reception for additional hangers (we were staying for a week and given six hangars to share) but they never arrived at the room.
