I thought the overall experience was great. I a couple of builds: - I thought buffet breakfast was good but not great. The one annoying thing was the need to catch shuttle to the main street. This would probably not cause ot book there again due to cost - I would expect a hotel of this quality to have its own shuttle service.

Our apartment was great, with everything we needed, from a heated private pool to a barbecue. The lagoon pool is fantastic and great for everyone, from adults to little kids. I had a truly enjoyable treatment at the spa and we were pleased with the food choices for breakfast, with gluten and dairy free options and a healthy choice of muesli and fruit.

Overall our stay was very pleasant. It is a relaxing environment with a great setup for families as well as couples. The pool and rooms are very nice. Food was pretty bad - we would rather drive out and eat elsewhere. Reception staff was great. Room service was very inconsistent and cleaning was not of high standards; each time something was forgotten or missed - but the place was still clean. It would be good if there was more seating or a better layout around the pool to lie down and relax as its quite crowded and due to the hotels location - a lot of people will spend a lot of time around the resort rather than going out, so it should be accommodating to this.

« Room was very smelly, oil burner was very old ans needed replacement. Floor was absolutely disgusting, very dirty, has black feet after walking in the apartment. »

This is the second time I stayed in this same apartment 123, and would never stay there again. Couldn't sleep as the mouldy smell was very bad. Terrible night! Dirty floor!! Couldn't stay and enjoy my morning, checked out first thing in the morning.

« Second time at the Sea Temple »

A lovely place to escape from the everyday hustle - pool excellent, food superb, accommodation spot on for a family. The shuttle bus ($45 per adult for the week, half that for kids) is easy convenient and takes all the hassle out of going into town for shopping and eating.

« Worst stay after 15 times »

Kids activities misrepresented, 1 hour cooking with chef turned out to be 12 minutes overloading muffins with icing and sweets. Then parents had to cope with kids on sugar overload for the rest of day. Our fridge wasn't working so after a day of moving all our stuff upstairs and back, finally another man came and said it wasn't working at all, so it had to be replaced. Even though both families were Accor members we were not invited to their drinks. Laura in front office very inefficient.

We were booked for four days at the resort. We were married there during this time. Our wedding was perfect and we could not fault it at all however we found everything else to be disappointing and not of a five star rating at all. To begin, I had called ahead twice to request early check in as we had meetings with the events team for our wedding. The girl at the reception had no note of this at all and we were unable to check in until 3:30pm. She then asked that I pay for our room upfront. We had already paid over a week beforehand when we settled the account for our wedding ($18,000 in total!). When I explained this, she offered no apology or explanation as to why she did no have this information and why she wanted me to pay. The room service food was cold on every occasion we ordered, and both times we had ordered fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, it not once came with yoghurt. Happy hour at the pool bar was an embarrassment to the resort and our guests that were staying. We would wait in line for over 30 mins each time just to place an order. Upon checking out we had charges to or room that that were not ours. When I questioned these (same girl as who checked us in) she again offered no explanation and simply said "let me print the correct one". This raises the following questions with me: 1- did she know this was incorrect before printing out? 2- if I had not questioned it would she of happily taken our money and I would be none the wiser. There was also another major issue with our family upon checking in. They called ahead twice to confirm they could bring their caravans on site and were told they could. When we arrived we were then told that that was incorrect and they were unable to. When a female manager came out to speak to us about it she was extremely rude and her tone was quite offensive. She did not introduce her self by name at all, and then proceeded to tell us that if we had been told the correct information then what difference would have that made! I got quite upset with this comment as I am a local in Cairns and we had all travelled up form Cairns that day, so of course if we had known, we would have made arrangements to leave them behind. The presumptions made by her were offensive and quite upsetting for all involved.

« Lovely atmosphere but just a little tired »

The hotel provides lots of things we love in a resort stay. Beautiful setting, great facilities, lovely atmosphere, good size rooms. Great for the whole family. The room finishes (bathrooms mainly) and some of the pool area and paving are getting a little tired though and in need of a refresh. Broken pavers in main thoroughfares are a worry with bare, soft kids feet. And for a busy holiday period there didn't seem to be many staff around. The pool bar staff member was not the friendliest of guys and often made you feel that making your $18 cocktail was a little too much trouble. And no one seemed to be available to clear up used glassware too often. Our experience with this level of resort is having a few wandering service staff so everyone isn't forced to crowd around the bar. The restaurant staff were lovely and helpful though. Overall a good family holiday. We would consider coming again, but definitely would if we heard there had been some renovations.

Experience was good overall, staff very friendly however there were a few things. There were never any towels at the pool and when I called reception nobody offered to bring towels down so we had to go up to reception. There was a number of people at the pool with the same issue. The toilet brush in our room was all rusty and disgusting, they cost about $5 so no reason to be in such a bad condition. Our bed sheeets were never changed even though we were staying 7 nights. The breakfast was very average and a lot of the meat was left sitting there all morning so was very tough and didn't taste amazing. Our last morning was busy and completely chaotic. We were incorreclty charged on check out. This was recrified quite quickly but disappointing that we had to point out the error. The wifi was terrible and so expensive. We complained and the charge was taken off of our bill thankfully.
