« Long Weekend Break Far North Queensland »

Needed a break after a very hectic year & decided Cairns maybe the go. Decided on Palm Cove for a quiet beach location. Love the Pullman brand quality so decided on Pullman Seat Temple. Wow ... from the moment i arrived, service was six star. Cold towels at reception & upgrade to a One Bedroom Spa Suite. Right on the beach with direct access & ten minutes walk to Palm Cove shops. Poolside Bar & excellent food both as meals & snacks. Breakfast had an excellent selection & egg orders available. Staff on hand for any advice or request. Local chocolate on arrival gift & packaged local nut selection of departure ! Tips - # See the sunrise from beachside of Hotel - well worth the 5am getup # Swim early morning, or later evening, in the hotter time of year. # Order a menu breakfast item of eggs however including omelette Can't compliment the staff enough for the fabulous hospitality. Thanks for the fabulous suite. Be back early 2018 :)

The welcome upon arrival seemed quite fake (both the initial greeting at reception and the follow up by the manager) and we got to our room with a bitter taste in our mouths after being questioned over using our complimentary nights that were available to us via our Accor membership. After I suggested this was an issue for management to take up with Accor directly, we were thankfully notified later in the day that all was ok with our booking. The room was not very clean, the linen on the bed had dust etc on it, the balcony was dirty (and was not cleaned during our entire stay), there were cigarette burn holes on the balcony sofa. What really astounded us were two things; 1. we were delivered a bag of ice with no ice bucket (I've never experienced this before at this sort of hotel), so we just had to leave the bag in the sink in the bathroom; and 2. as there was no rubbish bin in the room, our empty beer box was lined with a bin liner for us and emptied each day. I have a photo prove this! We were also quite shocked to have someone suggest that our booking for dinner at 8pm was too late when we called to make the reservation (as 'we eat quite early around here') despite the kitchen being open to 9pm. All in all... definitely not a 4-4.5 star stay... possibly more like a 3 star.

stayed in a two bedroom rooftop apartment overlooking lagoon pool faultless resort with very helpful staff and meals cant wait to return and would totally recommend this resort to family and friends you must try the sticky maple duck entree the best we have ever had

The apartment was in an ideal position with all the features to make it comfortable and practical. A great balcony to relax on a spa bath to luxuriate in. And on the practical side a kitchen and a washing machine.

Its a lovely hotel. Its the 3rd time we have stayed here. We had to wait about 10 mins (no exaggeration) at the check in counter before any member of staff attended our needs. Not a great start. One of the nights, there were patrons talking very loudly in the halls after their Christmas function held at your venue. This was happening up until approx. 0330 am. Apart from that, we enjoyed our stay.

For me there were, unfortunately, a series of small incidents that culminated to a less than perfect 5 star experience. Was I expecting too much to experience service and detail 'second to none' at a five star resort? My one bedroom apartment was on an open corridor and within metres of the lift, The constant 'dong donging' of the lift bell was extremely annoying, especially at 5.30am. The bedroom blind did not block light from the brightly lit corridor. Admittedly someone less sensitive would not have minded these things but I specifically asked for a 'high' apartment to lessen the effects of noise but was given apartment 224. After the first night tossing and turning and brain storming with the lovely receptionist and coming up with no answers she suggested that she give me a 'rollerbed' so that I could sleep in the lounge room. Having saved for my holiday I did not wish to sleep on a rollout bed and declined the offer. I asked for an eye cover but there were none and she offered to phone the local pharmacy when they opened. When I returned to my room that afternoon there was an eye mask and ear pug kit waiting for me. Nice gesture from a genuinely caring receptionist and I compliment her.(Morning of Wednesday 22nd Nov). I bought some Blu Tac and stuck the roller blind to the wall to stop the light coming in but this should not have been necessary. I did suggest that the lift bell be programmed to not 'ding dong' between 10pm and 7am when guests are usually sleeping but apparently this cannot be done. Some other failures were due to inattentive staff. I had to phone housekeeping after showering as there was no bathrobe in my room; Hot food in the food warmers at breakfast seemed to be either cold or dried out from too much heat; Running out of croissants at 9am at breakfast; No clean teaspoons for coffee; The milk container within the Nespresso machine was not big enough for the demand and kept running out of milk; I was not listened to as a guest when requesting just 'one' poached egg each morning and was consistently given two ("that's ok just leave the other one"); No carrot for the breakfast juice machine for two days ("Chef is out of carrots"); Watermelon dropped on the floor was a slip hazard but when I mentioned it to the head breakfast person he looked at me as if it was a criticism when I was only trying to avoid an injury; Empty glasses around the pool from the night before (one beer glass was in the spa area for 3 days!); There was always a queue at the pool bar (no poolside waiter service?); I was unable to order a Mojito which was on the drinks menu ('We have no mint') and then when I ordered an alternative the young barman didn't know how to make it and had to ring through for the regular barman to take over from him. Definitely room for service improvement. The hotel is well located and a handsome hotel with nice clean rooms.

We have stayed at the Pullman on a few occasions now and I am pleased to report that it did not disappoint on this occasion either. Staff were friendly and helpful, facilities were well maintained and the food was excellent- even the beetroot dust! It was terrific to see guests being given a block of chocolate from the region- these small gestures are a terrific way of promoting local produce and tourist spots which add to the QLD experience. Thanks to your team for making our time at the Pullman a relaxing and memorable time.

We loved staying at the Pullman Sea Temple. The room was spacious and cleaned beautifully every day. The buffet breakfast had a good variety which we loved! The pool area was huge with many places to sit and it was never hard to get a chair. The lagoon pool was perfect for us and our 18 month old with a big shallow area he played in comfortably.
