Fantastic boutique motel in good position on the edge of the city centre. Room was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was very good. Parking was in next door security car park for $23 per day.

The Hotel Lindrum is always welcoming, the staff helpful and friendly, nothing is too hard - customer service is excellent. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable, bathroom is wonderful and I love the small touches, fluffy bathrobe, slippers, newspapers I want to read and coffee... I never skip breakfast downstairs and enjoy a cocktail before a concert or night out. I will be back again.

Had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay Had slight glitch in that the room i booked being 212 which had a bath had a problem with the faucet mixer and so the water would not flow out of the bath meaning that i could not use the bath during my two day stay . The duty manager came to my room and saw and recognised the problem and apologised and helped the best should could , however i was disappointed that i couldn't have a bath as that was something i was looking forward to . Apart from that it all was good

When I arrived around midday the noise coming from outside was so loud that I could not work. I think there was a truck there. Once it left all was good. The at 2am what sounded like a street sweeper seemed to be doing laps in the carpark. Then at 5am the garbage truck arrived.

This hotel has been on my bucket list for a long time. I visit Melbourne a lot with my young family so usually stay somewhere family friendly. I was solo for this time (a work conference) so I grabbed my chance! I booked online which was fairly straightforward and was sent a reminder text on the day with the option to complete check-in online. At the hotel the check-in process was very slick. Staff had acknowledged my request for a quiet room (I’m a poor sleeper) and did indeed allocate me a quiet room - sensationally quiet, in fact - one of the best sleeps I’d had in ages! At check-in I asked for any recommendations for gluten free cafes/restaurants nearby – the staff member didn’t know off the top of her head but said she’d look into it and call my room – which she did, possibly 5-10 minutes later with some excellent nearby suggestions. The design and styling are very much to my tastes; the lobby area is grand and makes you feel special as soon as you step into the porch area at the front. Bed linen, towels and bathrobes provided are great quality and the attention to detail superb – Appelles toiletries, T2 tea, for example. A turn-down service with a T2 “Sleep Tight” tea and sweet treat were noted and appreciated. On my second night I decided to relax in a bath but discovered the plug was broken so rang reception for a new one, which arrived at my door within minutes. I took advantage of the $1 breakfast options for both mornings of my stay. Menu options were good (although the buffet lacked gluten free options – just fruit and juice, really – I’m not sure about the yoghurt as it wasn’t labelled). I had Dolly’s breakfast on the first morning and an omelette on the second – both ok, although plating was basic. For example, the omelette arrived on its own - just a yellow lump on a large white plate – a tiny amount of colourful salad or even a garnish would have really lifted the visual appeal of the dish – a minor point, of course. Only a couple of other little let-downs but nothing too major. The first was at breakfast; I am a coeliac and requested substitution of gluten free bread with my breakfast – I was told this wouldn’t be a problem. When my plate arrived the bread looked suspicious to me – I didn’t recognise it as gluten free (and you do get to know what it looks like, believe me!) so I queried it with a different staff member, who wasn’t sure so she asked the kitchen… when she returned she said “just as well you checked – it’s not GF!” They swapped it but I was so unnerved I couldn’t eat it (also I wasn’t sure if they’d changed the egg that had been sitting on the other bread and I didn’t want to risk contamination). The next day I asked for no bread, just to be safe! Service was also pretty slow (there was only 1 other diner besides myself, so it wasn’t busy) so don’t expect to eat and run – allow plenty of time. Also worth noting that the coffee is plunger style and is not included in the $1 breakfast for some reason (?!) Tea, however, is included. Also, I was sent an email shortly after check-out claiming that I’d taken items from my mini-bar (I hadn’t). They gave my credit card number as the one they were going to charge for the missing items but then quoted the wrong room number – so they’d contacted me by error. Easily sorted with a reply email (and an apology from the hotel) but probably could have been avoided with attention to detail. The main message I got from this hotel was the consistent branding, across aesthetics and service, that showed real understanding of who they are and who they are catering for. A few little improvements to me made, but overall I was really impressed. The hotel is visually stunning, the amenities are high quality and most importantly my room was very quiet. I will definitely be back!

A Melbourne girl through and through, so every so often will spend a long weekend as a tourist in Melbourne and the Hotel Lindrum is where we always stay. A small boutique hotel never over crowded and has an intimate feel about it. It is located in the city but at the edge so close to everything but close enough to walk to the Art Centre, museums, parks and public transport. Service is always excellent, rooms nice and comfortable and food not bad.
