We were attending an event at the 02 and this hotel was only a couple of stops away on the DLR. Met at reception by a very pleasant young man who was polite and helpful. Room was clean tidy and everything we needed for an overnight stay. Breakfast was good with various options. All in all...very satisfied. Thanks!

Location of hotel is ideal for O2. Since our last stay, the awful bathroom "pod" has been removed and replaced with a walk in shower which is 1000% improvement.

« Good location for ExCel and the DLR »

Room 440 is among the newly refurnished rooms with AirCon that works (as it should) whether you desire heat or cooling during your stay - nice touch. Most hotels in room systems are forced to heat during the autum to spring period, which can make it unbearable at night when opening a window in a busy city is not really an option. Room 440 is not the largest, but it is well appointed with the most power sockets and USB outlets I’ve seen in any hotel room. The staff are friendly upon arriva, as well as upon departure. I would stay here again. My only minor issue was having to chase the paperless invoice. Normally this arrives in the early hours of the night via email on the last day of your stay. My invoice arrived later the next day. This could have been due to my chasing via the app or coincidence. Either way don’t panic as there are plenty of avenues to get an invoice after your stay, especially if you have the app.

Staff were ok but everything else sucked..carpets covered in plastic sheeting and silver tape..the corridors and bedrooms smelled of chemicals and dust. The WiFi dropped every few minutes making it impossible to do anything and missing light bulbs. I like Ibis hotels and would recommend but not this one..not ever

it was awful, the staff were good but...the carpets were covered in plastics sheeting secured by tape and the air felt full of dust...especially the bedroom...despite it being cold and wet outside i had to leave the window open to keep the air fresh. There were missing light bulbs, the wifi was rubbish, dropped every few minutes and was therefore useless. I get that its a "budget" chain but if i had known what i was getting into i would have paid more and stayed elsewhere

First off all on the booking they are offering quen room (bed) but gave me just a standard double bed, when I came down to the reception they pretend they are don’t understand what’s the difference between Queen and double bed. Which is ridiculous. Then I been offered to check another room which one was on the 5th Flor where refurbishing works are ongoing you can smell the paint and etc.. room we’re looking like a loft small dark with no windows and same smal bed. Staff were not helpful at all didn’t even tryed to find a solution. That’s really poor face side of ibis hotels.

We have booked te Ibis styles instead of a normal Ibis to find some design and we were curious but so disappointed as it is a small room even smaller than the normal Ibis rooms and nothing special apart from an old grey carpet

The front desk staff are friendly, but the hotel room is more like a hostel room. There was no hot water after 11pm, the air ducts were missing the cover, the air con was noisy and the breakfast was shocking and wished I never had it. Definitely the worst hotel I have stayed in within London

First night asked for an extra pillow. One member of staff was helpful while another pulled a shocked face and shook her head as if I'd asked for something abnormal. The breakfast was frankly, rubbish. The hot food provided tasted like plastic, the only fruit was chopped, mushy apples and tasted out of date. We asked for oats - possibly the cheapest and easiest breakfast you can have - but there were none. The main revolving door was broken for majority of our stay. When we walked into it and waited, nothing happened - including no response from the staff sat 5 metres away who were on their mobile phones. When I informed one of the staff that the door was not working I received a blank stare in response. When we got up to out room our door had been left open, presumably by the cleaning staff.

Very late cleaning The first Day...we were back from The City around 3 o’clock in The aftenoon... No cleaning So we skipped it. The next Day we asked for cleaning in The morning and left for The city. No cleaning was made -only New towels and The bed was made. The breakfastroom is extremely noisy.

We arrived to find out that they was no running water throughout the hotel . We then went to our room 533 to see they was work being done throughout the hotel and they was plastic sheets all over the flooring with the corridor smelt of paint we then asked to be moved to a different room with was done with the next room being far from adequate and was like we wasn’t happy with the first 1 so we got given the very poor basic room in the end we had a terrible stay and would not be recommending or returning to this property

« Generally fine, and handy for ExCel London which is where I was visiting. »

Easy to check in, but then discovered my room was in a row where the surrounding rooms were being refurbished, so that took the edge off it. The room was quite noisy - there was a continuous fan/water pipes noise from the en-suite, and the window wasn't particularly soundproofed considering there's a DLR station opposite, and planes taking off regularly. Also, the restaurant was closed which meant I had to go out to get an evening meal, which I hadn't planned for.

Very well located hotel for Excel. I thought the room was well presented and laid out, with helpful staff at reception adding to the overall feel. The bar area was very poor however, in bad condition with a selection of beer and spirits closer related to Asda, than anything stylish.

I had a good experience the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Very friendly staff. The breakfast was good, great value for money in the pub. The only complaint was the window blind. The blind was too short to cover the window so the person sleeping in the bed near the window was awake at dawn.

Hotel room (403) very odd. Shower doesn't drain well. Bad smell from sink. Insufficient room between sink and wall so unable to access shower. Low beams in bedroom leading to bumped head. Breakfast far inferior compared with Ibis Styles Excel.
