« Great stay »

We arrived early at the hotel and unable to check in which was expected. The reception team were very nice and let us keep our luggage there. We arrived back at around 5pm and checked in by different receptionists again very nice. The hotel room was very clean and we liked the idea of the towel with kinder bueno it was a lovely touch. Room had everything we needed. Continental breakfast was good, and staff were very nice. All in all a good stay.

Rooms Spartan, but what is thare is well appointed. Given that you're mostly there to sleep this is not a problem. The bathroom tends to the tiny, with a single floor pan and a simple curtain shower - everything gets damp, don't take dry items in and you'll need the floor may. Rather cramped. The hotel no longer seems to provide a hot breakfast and thus is definitely a down note. They also didn't keep up the food supply of the very limited cold options, even though not

« Shabby and chaotic »

The positive would be the people: the reception and bar staff were polite, helpful, and welcoming. The negatives are numerous: - a fire alarm went off as I was falling asleep (I couldn’t reach reception on the phone to check if it was a drill...as I’m still alive, I presume it was) - the carpet was stained in many places - the bathroom was grubby and didn’t seem to have been cleaned properly - the television didn’t work properly (again, couldn’t reach reception to ask for assistance) - the internet also didn’t work properly, so I ended up using my own mobile hotspot - there was so much noise on the corridor that it was impossible to sleep In the morning, I couldn’t even face breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. I know the hotel is going through a refurbishment, but it is still choosing to stay open and make money whilst that’s going on, and standards were beyond shoddy. All in all, a really disappointing experience.

« Fire Alarms and terrible beds »

I chose to stay in this ibis based on the fact that the Styles range tends to be leagues better than the budget, however this time, the sheets were itchy and thin, the same with the pillows. The toilet didn't flush well and the shower curtain was clingy. Would only stay again due to location, and if the Novotel was full again. I do understand that the fire alarms are not the fault of the hotel, but being woken 2 nights out of 3 when I had early starts was not the greatest experience. Continental breakfast also needs some work.

« Needs some attention »

Stay (3 nights) was poor, compared to earlier visits. Wifi not working properly, room not tidied up on day #2, breakfast was poor and seriously cut back compared to earlier visits (I can understand for instance that Orange Juice is not working/out of stock for one day, but not for the whole week?). Overall below par experience. We consider booking another hotel for our next stay.

« Nice hotel in good location »

The reception staff were friendly and efficient, the room small and would have benefited from some pictures on the wall. Bed was very comfortable and room quiet. Breakfast was OK but everything needed topping up and they had run out of croissants and rolls The best aspect of this hotel is it's location just metres from the DLR.

the room was lovely and big. comfy. air con didn't seem to work and the windows didn't open so i was too hot! there was no bulb in one of the side lights and it was quite noisy, being under the guest lounge... lots of moving around and scraping of chairs!

« Woken up twice but nice room »

The room was nice and clean and everything worked. The bed was comfortable and staff were very helpful. At 2.30am i was woken up by a loud crash and I thought someone was in my room. After investigation i found at that the noise was actually the shower gel holder falling off the wall of the shower. After going back to bed I was woken up again by the fire alarm going off at 4.30am. This meant I had a very broken sleep. There was a nice selection of food at breakfast though some tomatoes to go with the breakfast would have been nice. The hash browns tasted a bit like cardboard. Overall a nice stay but I could have been a bit better rested.

« Small rooms noisy and bad (burned food in the pub) and very bad customer service. »

The room was small for the price I paid. The food in the pub was burned. We ordered 3 chicken roast and we waited around 45 minutes before it arrived burned and the pub manager offered to give us a round of drinks free (a pint of coke for 3). I told him am not paying for a burned chichen and that a free coke pint will not fix the issue. I only chose the hotel because I was exhibitor at the Excel. If I will exhibit next time, I will do a better search for accomodation

« Much better than I expected of an Ibis »

289 So much better than I expected Review of Ibis Styles London Excel Reviewed yesterday I booked a large room with a kitchen area for a 1-night stay and was expecting a very basic room as I am aware that Ibis is the budget end of the Accord hotel range so I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and number of towels provided as well as crockery and cutlery. A small amount of noise from planes and traffic in my ground floor room but not overnight so not a big problem. Everything was very clean and staff courteous. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The breakfast room was very busy but staff on hand to organise the queues. Only criticism was that I could not use the soap dispenser as was too hard to squeeze but had brought my own) Would stay again.

We enjoy staying at this Ibis Styles. The staff are always polite, welcoming and friendly and the owner/manager (?) in the breakfast room is fantastic. Hotel is clean and well located for buses into Canning Town and on to central London. The bar is also a good place to eat and relax in after a day out.
