We really enjoyed our stay in the Mercure Les Arcs, the hotel was spacious, breakfast and dinner had a great selection, and the staff were good. The only downside we had (and it's not really with the hotel) is that the Charmettoger and Jardin Alpin ski lifts only start at 9:15am. When the ski school also starts at the same time it means instead of skiing your kids there you need to hike almost a mile (for the Piou Piou area). If the ski area just opened these lifts 25 mins earlier this could all be avoided.

Excellent Room but car parking entrance diabolical and could damage car

First impressions are terrible as my car grounded on the entrance to the car park and it’s clear that this has happened a number of times before. My car is a Mercedes E Class and has NEVER had this issue before. This must be fixed As soon as possible as a 0 star entrance to 3 star hotel with good rooms results in a 1 star hotel. Either that or rebrand as an Ibis! Otherwise room excellent, reception area and bar excellent.

Room is spacious and relaxing. Location is good for skiing. Rental ski shop is in the same building, which is very convenient.Only problem is food, which is poor quality, does not taste good, not suitable for 4 star hotel.

I know there are a limited supply of hotels in Les Arcs, but just because you're one of them, doesn't mean that you get to be 4 star. To be honest, I've stayed in way, way better 3 star hotels. The housekeeping was abysmal. When we arrived there was a pile of dirty towels in the corner of the room. We put them outside the door and they were still there next day. Then next day, the room was still dirty after cleaning. We told reception and they promised it would be corrected the next day. The next day the room wasn't cleaned at all. We complained and also asked that we are please given water in the room. The manager brought us some water and assured us we'd have water each day. Then next day, no water. So, that's 4 out of 5 days we had problems with housekeeping. Breakfast was ok, but nothing special. Dinner was pretty good. The pool area is dated and tired. The room decor is ok, but the toilets and bathroom are borderline 2 star. The toilets are a bit smelly. Paper cups and no plates in the room is also a bit 2 star. And the balcony has two deckchairs on it, but isn't even big enough to unfold one deckchair...what's that all about? This place is not a good hotel.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff on reception were very friendly and helpful and the rooms, looking over the valley, were great and had terrific views. We were initially disappointed that we couldn't eat in the hotel restaurant but the one we found in town was much nicer

Old hotel in ski area open in summer just to make little revenue.

Hotel Mercure Les Arcs 1800 is a ski hotel. We stayed in July and where very very disappointed. First the station: old, more than half of the restaurants and boutiques where closed, ski lift to go up for sight seeing where not working. The hotel: old hotel somewhere renovated somewhere not, restaurant open BUT just with very small fixed menu (choice between 2 courses only), minimum of staff. And the staff present completly ignorant of the work they supposed to do. Example: barman does'nt know what Grand Marnier is. In the restaurant I had breakfast very early, just at opening time, and find out that the scrambled eggs where cold, the bacon not well done. I explained to the jong lady in the service how to work with bain-marie (I find out that the water in the bain-marie was cold as the same for the insert container). And this by opening time!!! Front office: By checking out I had a big agurment with receptioniste and by phone with a manager (? I believe). The point was: Previous to my stay I got a confirmation that was debited of € 105,50 and by checking out I was asked to pay again this amount. At that stage I was not able to check my credit card account. Anyway if Accord sent a payement confirmation it should not me to check this payement by the sender of the confirmation.

This is our 3rd year in a row and we have enjoyed the views, fresh air, and lovely village all thanks to the welcoming staff, excellent service, and comfortable rooms that make the stay worthwhile. The location was perfect for our ski holiday, with immediate access to the slopes; après ski and shopping area within walking distance. Staff has been doing their utmost to make sure that we had a pleasant stay in the hotel and it was nice to see their motivation to please the customers. Our room was comfortable for a family of 4, though some aspects of the hotel are in need of renovation to stay upto the 4* standards.

Initially the stay started quite badly, with confusion about the costs associated with our room and a very disappointing restaurant experience for the first two evenings. After that he stay was absolutely wonderful. The staff and management listened to our needs and adapted. It was my second stay in this hotel for a short ski vacation with friends. However, what a difference between this stay and last year: the service has decreased significantly. Was there a change of management in this hotel? It starts already at check-in: no more friendly staff at the reception desk, no smile. I had to ask myself one day later to have the free drink voucher for LeClub Accor silver members. Also on check-out, I did not feel welcome. The reception desk employee did not even ask how our stay had been, so I could not give my feedback. The worst experience however was the evening dinner in the restaurant. Last year, the restaurant service was superb: good staff and quality buffet food. This year, the service was terribly bad and the quality of the food very variable. There was no buffet anymore, but only a fixed menu with two choices of entree, main dish and dessert. The dishes were often very small, sometimes almost cold and sometimes of bad quality. Three people of our group, including myself, had stomach ache and thus a sleepless night after one of the meals. One evening, we were still very hungry after the restaurant service. The service itself was sometimes almost ridiculous: one waiter brings an appetizer, and literally 30 seconds later, another waiter brings the entree and clears the appetizer from the table. Service was too fast: the first evening, we had been served appetizer, entree, main dish and dessert on 25 minutes. The other evenings, we specifically asked to wait a bit longer in between the dishes, because we like not to rush our evening dinner. Wine was just put on the table, without letting someone taste it. The red wine was also served too cold. Due to all these problems, we were very disappointed in the restaurant service. Only the last evening, there was one professional staff member who managed to give a correct service at our table. I could only hope it's going better as of now, but for us this was a bad experience. The hotel itself is quite old (for example no proper ventilation system in the rooms), but that is acceptable if the service is outstanding. This had been the case in our previous visit in 2017, as well as our visit to the Mercure Les Deux Alpes in 2016. This year the service was not there, and in combination with the old infrastructure, this was most definitely not a 4* hotel experience. To conclude, I can only say that we will not come back anymore to this hotel.

This was our fourth visit to Mercure Arcs 1800 for a ski holiday. On each previous occasion we have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This time we had no problem with the booking and taxi transfers. The problem was that the hotel appeared to be entirely geared to satisfying the needs of a conference that occupied the majority of the hotel. As far as we know there were only one or two other guests not connected with the conference. The biggest disappointments were (a) the lack of buffet for dinner except on the last evening before our departure (b) uncertainty over the the timing of dinner. We are used to eating at 7 pm but on one occasion were came down to dinner at 7 pm to be told that it would not happen until 8 pm and we were ushered out of the restaurant on another occasion and told to come back later (c) there was uncertainty among staff as to what was planned for us (d) there was no information volunteered by the management - we had to find out the hard way. Frankly on occasion we believe we were regarded as a nuisance rather than as paying customers. On each previous visit to your hotel we were made to feel very welcome by Celine. I would however like to make it clear that on this occasion your restaurant staff were very helpful and, I believe, sympathetic to our situation.
