Had to come to Birmingham for a medical appointment which required a night stop. Looking for somewhere modest but comfortable without street noise - met this requirement and more. Smallish room but several ot of subtle French bonuses in its design. No attempt at haute cuisine in evening but what I had was tasty. Breakfast healthy without good old English cooked breakfast but healthy and filling alternatives

The staff are brilliant so welcoming and friendly. We have stayed a few times and we will be staying again when we have to go down to Birmingham next month. If you are looking for a nice hotel with very nice staff at a reasonable price then you can't go wrong.

« Very good value stay »

With breakfast included the rate charged for a three night, over weekend, stay was very good. The hotel is in good repair and the staff were very helpful. The only issue is that the room was stuffy, something we have experienced before when we have stayed there.

« good but could be quiter »

i stayed here for 6 nights and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I must give a special mention to the evening meals which were freshly prepared and cooked curries with different rice and naan breads and were cooked and spiced to perfection.the hotel needs to have signs up at every junction to ask o guests to respect others peace and be quite in the corridors. I was woken several times each night from midnight onwards by noisy guest talking loudly. i stayed in a room where the main door fitted so badly you could see through the top which exagerated the noise and the adjoining door to the room adjacent had no sound proofing as I could hear every word from the next room. the tiles on the bathroom floor and were loose as was the bottom row of the shower wall tiles. I pointed this out to the manager who stated he would get this fixed. I would stay here again but would ask for a different room not with an access to the next room. the water was very hot at all times and the cleaning staff were very good at their job.

Great location,excellent value for money, warm and comfortable room and friendly staff. Simple self service continental breakfast was included. plenty of free car parking. Exactly as described on the box !!!!

We stayed overnight at the Ibis Styles, Hagley Road, and overall, were very impressed. Although not huge, the room was adequate, nicely decorated, and clean, with a queen sized bed, which was very comfortable. The bathroom had a walk in shower with plenty of piping hot water. We only had a bar snack in the evening, but the service and attention of the bar staff was second to none. We were concerned that it might be noisy at night, given that there were lots of Christmas parties around, but there was no noise at all; no banging doors, or noisy neighbours. Breakfast was an assortment of fruit, cereals, continental meats and cheese, boiled eggs, toast, muffins and croissants, etc. which was great, with as much or as little as you wanted. Costa coffee on tap from the self service machine. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would certainly stay again. Thank you.

« Good help from staff but it should not have been needed »

Stayed here followingg the recent snow. Good clean room, well maintained and friendly staff. Unfortunately, nobody had cleared the rear car park and so I got stuck. Staff came out and helped with the pushing and digging but the management should have doe something about salting, gritting or clearing.

« great stay »

Stayed for two nights with continental breakfast. The staff at booking in were friendly. The room was (as always with Ibis) spotless, the shower hot and powerful, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was ample to keep us going for hours of walking around Birmingham. We had a curry one evening which was very good. The service both by the barman and the gentleman who served us dinner was friendly and very good. All in all a very good stay and if we come back to Birmingham we will definitely stay here, and thoroughly recommend it. It is not in the centre of Birmingham, approx 2 miles out, but there are lots of buses and you have the benefit of free parking.

i used this hotel for regular business trips and has consistently been clean good breakfast excellent friendly staff particularly older gentleman on night desk. would 100% recommend for leisure or business

« Overnight stay with one problem »

Didn't spend long in the room - got to the hotel after 11pm from a funeral/wake. We had trouble making water leave the basin in the bathroom. I unscrewed the plug to find a large 'plug' of hair blocking the flow. Easily cleared but should have been done by cleaning staff!

Great lobby, great staff, horrific beds! Mattress and pillows like rock and duvet thin and stiff . Although breakfast 'continental' it was difficult to make a meal out of the choices! Not the best value

Lovely hotel and lovely food. The only disappointing thing was that the description for the suite stated that there would be a Nespresson machine in the room and there wasn't. Otherwise everything was brilliant.

Very accessible right by a bus route into city centre for bullring, arena and curry town!! Unfussy, clean, efficient hotel. Breakfast a little plain but perfect after a night at Akbar’s!! Would definitely return with kids

really nice hotel with friendly staff, clean and nicely decorated rooms and great showers. Love that you get big fluffy towels and an extra hand towel for your hair. Lots of free parking. Not city centre but thats only a bus ride away and there are some nice pubs and restaurants within walking distance

« First bad experience with Accor hotels »

I use Accor hotels regularly for business travel, quality is good and prices are reasonable so it was doubly disappointing that the room was the noisiest room I have ever stayed in. The outside wall was attached to the very large boiler or plant room chimney and as the plant room fired up on the hour all through the night the sound of the plant vibrated through the room like a jet engine. The radiator made a similar racket all night so not a happy bunny by the morning. Made a complaint the next morning which was not really treated seriously aside if an offer of 10% off a further stay. How likely am I to stay in that Styles Hotel again? The rest of the hotel was fine, good parking, nice staff, decent WiFi. I will continue to use ACCOR/ IBIS. Just beware if you check in to make sure you are not in one of the rooms next to the boiler chimney

« Good situation, excellent service and good price »

Situated near Birmingham City centre, but easily accessible as on the A456, No road noise.The hotel has been refreshed recently and we took advantage of 'the works' package that meant we had a vary large room and bathroom. Breakfast (continental) was included in the very reasonable fee. Service was excellent throughout. Only slight niggle was that the package we booked spoke of the coffee facilities in terms of 'like a Nespresso'. In fact it turned out to be a kettle and Nescafe Sachets!

Room allocated was quite small and not much space for luggage. Had to justify on health grounds the supply of 4th pillow (3 in room) as initial reluctance to provide the extra one. Bed was comfy. Continental breakfast was very good. Sink in room 312 was blocked and message left at reception on checkout to hopefully get it fixed. Window beside lift on 3rd floor was supposed to have restricted opening (as per bedrooms) but it was open very wide when we got out of the lift. Easy for a younger child or elderly person to fall out

« Very nice hotel with very nice people »

From checking in to checking out I felt like a valued customer. The front desk staff were extremely informative upon checking in and answered all questions I had. The hotel was very clean and the room was very comfortable. This was my first ibis experience and i thoroughly enjoyed it. Very good value for money!!

Very nice hotel, comfortable beds and a good shower. Meal we had in the restaurant in the evening was excellent coupled by fantastic service by Micky. Unfortunately the breakfast was quite poor, no bread rolls or croissants, only white sliced bread available and margarine. Needs improving IBIS. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.
