« How not to celebrate a special occasion. »

On arrival at the hotel the staff in reception said the normal be with you in a minute before leaving me waiting for 5 minutes. I booked a Superior room and was allocated a standard room and when I queried it I was told I wouldn't be upgraded. Didn't ask for an upgrade just wanted what I paid for - a superior room with a kitchenette and a bath. The hotel is currently being renovated and these rooms weren't available. The room we were given was definitely not worth the extra money. We stayed for 2 nights and the room wasn't serviced as we had the do not disturb sign out at the time they came to do the room. We went out at 1pm for the afternoon so there was ample time for the room to be serviced. When we returned I rang reception to have to have the tea, coffee, toilet paper and body lotion replaced as we had run out. It wasn't until we were in the shower that we realised there was no shampoo, conditioner or shower gel.Apparently we should have rung and they would have replaced them immediately. The buffet breakfast was cold. Overall a very disappointing experience. It wont matter how much money is spent on renovations unless the customer service improves this Hotel will never reach it's full potential.

Room was ok. General maintenance and upkeep of the resort was disappointing. Breakfast was not worth it's price. Not much choice. Mouldy bread on the second morning. No syrup or anything to put on pancakes second morning. Kids playground a let down. Like a dump area. Didn't look like anything was getting done to repair or fix anything up.

I recently stayed at the Mercure Gerringong 'resort' and was disgusted. If i could give a zero out of five I would.The plan was for a relaxing break for my partner and I, unfortunately it was an overnight stay from hell.The bed was so uncomfortable it could not be slept on. It felt as if it was lumps of rags with timber and springs.The pillows were also in desperate need of replacing. Neither my partner or I had any sleep whatsoever and I ended up in severe pain in my back and left shoulder.I had to stand in a hot shower throughout the night to alleviate the pain.The lack of a decent place to sleep caused my partner to leave the hotel and return home at 3 am. I, unfortunately had to stay to check out the following morning, so I could not leave. I attempted to sleep in the lounge, which would not have been all that hygienic, but had no luck.I checked out as soon as I could, informing the receptionist of the situation, who said 'we don't get any complaints'I drove home having had no sleep, still in pain and was lucky not to have had an accident.I have written a complaint to the management, who have not responded.I regret having wasted my money!

We Stay Saturday and Sunday. The Room was clean and nice. The bed was a bit uncomfortable, The Restaurant was Closed for Sunday Dinner. All in All it was a good stay and the staff were excellent. However not exactly the location for me. Although not the Hotels fault we were in an adjoining door next to a young family who thought they were in their home and could talk very loudly from early morning (nice wake up) through out the day which meant staying in the room was not enjoyable

It was nice , I did expect a bit more though . Heaps of dead flies on the floor in the restaurant and the gardens were not very nice looking out the window . The smell of the pit door area from our room was so strong we could not Sit on our verandah . Wait staff were not very helpful and staff appearance was terrible .

We had a lovely night. I stayed with my daughter and grandchildren and they loved the time spent at the pool. Just a little thing we checked out before reception opened and I left the room cards and $3.50 for a chocolate but this was also charged to my credit card.

« My request for a ground floor room and standalone shower were fulfilled. »

My 93 year old mother and myself had a lovely time at the resort. We enjoyed the one dinner we had in the restaurant. Our room was big and well equipped. If I book again I would request a room with either a balcony or an outside seating area.
