« For location excellent »

Great location service excellent. The only 2 buts are don't expect the balcony to have chairs to sit on. Its tiny and the fact its see through metal and seems to be held up by the wall and one metal support makes it a bit scary. The views however amazing. So worth the effort. The other but. Is the kitchen. Do not expect dishwasher ect. It is what it advertises. A mini kitchen. However we were there for 4 nights and had some great home cooked dinners. The steak you buy from wellington supermarket ( 5 min walk from hotel) was better than in melbourne.

« Not as good as I expected »

Tired, sparse room, not the perception I had gained from the internet photos at all. It was clean, but lacking. TV picture very poor, pillows lumpy. Poor and noisy heater. Shower sprayed water everywhere, fan ineffective, little counter top space in bathroom (impractical, especially when dealing with contact lenses!) Reception staff very pleasant.

No aircon on a 29 degree day made this stay very uncomfortable. Similarly no aircon in the bar at the sister hotel around the corner meant we would not eat there. Parking was impossible in the two bays allotted however they did provide an alternative at Wilson nearby

« Quaint ! »

Great location. Easy access to public transport and the largest museum Te Papa ...small property - more of service apartment than a hotel! Very clean - the kitchenette was not too well equipped - had minimal crockery and cooking utensils.

« Ok apartments for families »

The apartments location is good but accessability for parking was not great. We paid to use the parking building behind the apartments but was not easy to access with a lot of baggage and children to negoitate the streets between. Accomodation was suitable but we were on the 14th floor and the wind noise was very loud, my kids were scared. Windows and doors did not open or close easily either. Probably would not use again for a family.

« Expensive stay »

The person at reception was very friendly and we had an early check in. The room we were in, we were not offered an up graded one, but suspect if we had been it would have been with a city view, not out the back of all the buildings with very noisy bars below.having bars meant extremely noisy wake up calls in the early hours as the bottles were disposed of. The room was described as having a full kitchen, but had a fridge, microwave, plates, toaster, jug and cutlery on a wooden cupboard with a half tiled top. Adequate for what we wanted, but is it hygienic for housekeeping to wash glasses, cups etc in the bathroom without dishwashing liquid? The beds were extremely comfortable, but the second bedroom had no wardrobe or even anywhere to hang clothes. Both rooms had bedsit lights, that required you to get out of bed to turn them off and on!!!!!!!. The room key had to be re activated 5 times and the wind whistled around the room including the door lock, making it appear like someone was trying to get into the room. As a Platium member of Accor I guess I was disappointed that my friends first experience was not great, also the lack of a bar or dining necessitating walking around the corner and up the road in the wind and rain did nothing for either of us. Am disappointed that this hotel is definitely not 4 star as I have stayed in many Accor three star that are better and that as a loyal Accor Member this was not acknowledged, not even with a welcome letter.

« A 4 day stay in Wellington »

My visit to Wellington was a combined stay with my son, catching up with friends and visiting Te Papaand the 'Galliopoli' exhibition and also going to the Wearable Arts Show. The location of the hotel was perfect for all of these venues. I paid a little bit extra to have a view of the harbour andI wasn'tdissapointed. Every member of the staff that I met were so lovely and helpful from beginning to end and made my stay a real plus. The only thing that would stop me giving it a 10 out of 10 is that the rooms are a bit tired and dated now and the kitchenette bench had a big stain on it from where someone had maybe burnt it with a pot and also the ventilation outlets need a bit of a clean. However did not really worry me too much asI was out an about and enjoying Wellington.

Great location, very close to Courtney Place and the CBD, Te Papa, only draw back to access the restaurant and bar, you have to walk around the corner to their sister hotel. Good views over the harbour

No TV in the bedroom. Very noisy extractor fan in the bathroom with no control over it as it was linked to the light switch. No soap dish by the hand basin. The person on reception was very pleasant and helpful with our requests.

« Great Location, comfortable and friendly »

Excellent central location, easy walk to all the attractions, markets, Te Papa, Museum, the cable car, and our favourite coffee shops and restaurants. Everything seemed to be within 10 minutes walk. Comfortable apartment style room with some cooking facilities and seperate bedroom and modern fittings and furnishings. Friendly and attentative staff. Only thing I would mention was that we did have to request housekeeping for our room (stayed 2 nights) on the second day. Would be helpful if this was mentioned in the room guide.

« Convenient hotel »

Stayed in a king room on 15th floor. Good bed. Clean. Partial harbour view. Floor to ceilng windows allowed a lot of heat into the room. Would not be great mid Summer but ok when we visited. No aircon but a door leading out to a rather precarios balcony, shared with room next door. Plenty of room in our apartment with a separate lounge/eating area. Newly rrnovated bathroom. Shower difficult to get under with spray going everywhere. No where to put soap next to basin. Looked a nice bathroom but not so usable. Plenty of towels and toiletries. The staff were all very pkeasant.

« Quick Stay »

A very comfortable one night stay in a one bedroom apartment with a small kitchen - everything required for a longer stay including a nice city and harbour view. Central location close to airport bus stops and sister hotel with a restaurant nearby. Many other restaurants within walking distance, also shopping, the waterfront and attractions. Reception staff pleasant and helpful.

« Good accommodation but noisy location »

Hotel room was clean and front desk staff were very helpful and friendly but the street noise especially at night if you have a window open was extremely bad. Bar around the corner was very noisy (could place for a drink tho) and lots of delivery truck noise early in the morning kept waking us up.

The property is centrally located to the CBD and waterfront, is well appointed and has great views over Wellington. There is no restaurant on site but we used the bar etc in the very close sister Accor facility which were great..

« Grand or not, partly. »

This is a quality property. It is genuinely centrally located in the city area, well within walking distance to many things, La Papa museum, waterfront, plenty of dining and Cuba St – worth a good look. The rooms are well appointed with good quality items. We liked the staff, particularly the afternoon lady with glasses (sorry no name) she was very pleasant and most helpful. Now for some concerns; No pool. This is apparently normal for Wellington properties, fair enough but then a spa must be provided, this is a quality property, needs some client services and a spa would be a good start. Bathrooms For a property of this quality, 1 bathroom is not good enough. The 2 bedroom can take 5 adults, we had 4, one small bathroom with toilet and small shower is not enough, at least separate toilet and shower is expected. Parking Check in is difficult with nowhere to stop outside, it is all public parking and a one way street, you can stop in the side alley loading zone but must move your car quickly, there is no onsite parking but the property offers reduced rate parking on the next street over, which is ok. Restaurant/Bar Non existent. They have an arrangement with the Mercure around the corner which might be fair enough but still a walk. The worst part is that the chef is on holiday during Christmas and New Year’s time. Fair enough but again, this is a quality property, no cooked food, what the. Only offering a continental breaky is not good enough. Short order cooks are able to put out some nice alternatives, you don’t need to serve top shelf food all the time, just something decent, some cooked bacon, eggs for breaky, some burgers for lunch/dinner, some drinks, somewhere to relax. As it is, it is still a walk to get there, The Grand Mercure needs a roof top bar with snacks.

Very clean and comfortable hotel. Location is excellent for meetings in the city. I arrived late at night to be greeted in a friendly and helpful manner. Extremely good value for money. Remember, this is an apartment hotel, so you need to walk down the street for meals etc.
