« One night stay »

No TV in the bedroom. Very noisy extractor fan in the bathroom with no control over it as it was linked to the light switch. No soap dish by the hand basin. The person on reception was very pleasant and helpful with our requests.

« Great Location, comfortable and friendly »

Excellent central location, easy walk to all the attractions, markets, Te Papa, Museum, the cable car, and our favourite coffee shops and restaurants. Everything seemed to be within 10 minutes walk. Comfortable apartment style room with some cooking facilities and seperate bedroom and modern fittings and furnishings. Friendly and attentative staff. Only thing I would mention was that we did have to request housekeeping for our room (stayed 2 nights) on the second day. Would be helpful if this was mentioned in the room guide.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Great having kitchenette. Ideal location. Very clean and tidy. Well serviced. Pleasant staff. Slightly noisey at night but given location understandable. Would stay there again.

Thank you for your lovely feedback. It is great to hear you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately the inner city can be noisy at times so reception (open 24/7) has earplugs available on request. We hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back again soon. Sincerely, Saurabh Doshi

« Convenient hotel »

Stayed in a king room on 15th floor. Good bed. Clean. Partial harbour view. Floor to ceilng windows allowed a lot of heat into the room. Would not be great mid Summer but ok when we visited. No aircon but a door leading out to a rather precarios balcony, shared with room next door. Plenty of room in our apartment with a separate lounge/eating area. Newly rrnovated bathroom. Shower difficult to get under with spray going everywhere. No where to put soap next to basin. Looked a nice bathroom but not so usable. Plenty of towels and toiletries. The staff were all very pkeasant.

« Quick Stay »

A very comfortable one night stay in a one bedroom apartment with a small kitchen - everything required for a longer stay including a nice city and harbour view. Central location close to airport bus stops and sister hotel with a restaurant nearby. Many other restaurants within walking distance, also shopping, the waterfront and attractions. Reception staff pleasant and helpful.

« Good accommodation but noisy location »

Hotel room was clean and front desk staff were very helpful and friendly but the street noise especially at night if you have a window open was extremely bad. Bar around the corner was very noisy (could place for a drink tho) and lots of delivery truck noise early in the morning kept waking us up.

The property is centrally located to the CBD and waterfront, is well appointed and has great views over Wellington. There is no restaurant on site but we used the bar etc in the very close sister Accor facility which were great..

« Grand or not, partly. »

This is a quality property. It is genuinely centrally located in the city area, well within walking distance to many things, La Papa museum, waterfront, plenty of dining and Cuba St – worth a good look. The rooms are well appointed with good quality items. We liked the staff, particularly the afternoon lady with glasses (sorry no name) she was very pleasant and most helpful. Now for some concerns; No pool. This is apparently normal for Wellington properties, fair enough but then a spa must be provided, this is a quality property, needs some client services and a spa would be a good start. Bathrooms For a property of this quality, 1 bathroom is not good enough. The 2 bedroom can take 5 adults, we had 4, one small bathroom with toilet and small shower is not enough, at least separate toilet and shower is expected. Parking Check in is difficult with nowhere to stop outside, it is all public parking and a one way street, you can stop in the side alley loading zone but must move your car quickly, there is no onsite parking but the property offers reduced rate parking on the next street over, which is ok. Restaurant/Bar Non existent. They have an arrangement with the Mercure around the corner which might be fair enough but still a walk. The worst part is that the chef is on holiday during Christmas and New Year’s time. Fair enough but again, this is a quality property, no cooked food, what the. Only offering a continental breaky is not good enough. Short order cooks are able to put out some nice alternatives, you don’t need to serve top shelf food all the time, just something decent, some cooked bacon, eggs for breaky, some burgers for lunch/dinner, some drinks, somewhere to relax. As it is, it is still a walk to get there, The Grand Mercure needs a roof top bar with snacks.

Stayed 23rd December,no dinner or full breakfast service at these appartments, but it worked out ok as the shops were in walking distance. The room had a lounge overlooking Wellington Harbour and was very clean.

« Easy stay in Wellington »

Very clean and comfortable hotel. Location is excellent for meetings in the city. I arrived late at night to be greeted in a friendly and helpful manner. Extremely good value for money. Remember, this is an apartment hotel, so you need to walk down the street for meals etc.

« A Grand Stay »

Reception staff were courteous and very helpful. Restaurant was a short walk away but this was no problem and cost was charged back to apartment/hotel. Was an apartment which was very comfortable and had good views and was serviced.

« I cannot recommend this hotel »

We stayed at this hotel on a busy weekend for the Wearable Arts Festival so it was very busy, the rooms weren't ready which was disappointing. However the staff on reception did their best and were friendly and helpful. When did get access we found the room to be small and the bed rocked like a waterbed. The mattress was so cheap and nasty that the fabric on it was bobbly and could be felt through the sheet, it seriously needed a mattress protector. The bathroom finishing was poor and I have never showered in such a small shower, I struggled to wash my long hair in it. At night it was extremely noisy, on the Saturday night we barely slept due to the noise from the nightclubs or bars and were woken early due to construction nearby. It was also rather expensive for the quality of the hotel

I would stay here again. My daughter and I went for WOW and this accommodation was perfect for us. Somewhere very clean and tidy and easy waking to shops and the TSB arena. We stayed on the 16 th floor - nice waterview. Plenty of room in the apartment for 2 people.

« GREAT HELPFUL SERVICE - PERFECT SPOT & GREAT VALUE!!!! »

So this wont be the typical review - I have an entertainment company so get to send brilliant performers all over the country, I was looking for a central Hotel in Wellington that could look after my five dancers. This property was just the right fit and full kitchen facilities added bonus - I have started booking Accor Properties for all my entertainers WHY - because they just go out there way to accommodate and be very helpful. The front desk / booking was brilliant and the most important question would I go back there and YES is the answer

« Overpriced »

This is an old and tired building. The soft furnishings have been updated to try and lift the standard but its still a 3star property. The bed was comfortable but the kitchen is very shabby and the bathroom equivalent to a cheap motel.

« It did the job »

I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for one night. The accommodation was big enough for us all and when I requested extra bedding it came without any fuss. The reception were helpful with information about parking (tricky) and the local area. We managed to get a park outside which was free from 6pm. Overall the hotel has dated fittings but everything worked. There was another hotel around the corner where we could have gone for breakfast but after having a look we decided we could do better elsewhere. We ended up having breakfast at the cafe at the zoo which was excellent and very child friendly. I would stay here again if I had to.

« Zipper Beds gone wrong »

Stay was clean and convenient, however the zipper King bed was in terrible condition. It felt like 2 uneven single beds beneath making the sleep uncomfortable to say the least. The Reception team were welcoming and helpful, but it's a definite 3 star hotel.
