Stayed at this hotel to accompany my husband on his business trip for two days. We arrived after a long plane ride in the evening and the staff didn’t even say hello. They were not very welcoming or friendly. I looked at some pictures online and there were pictures of a pool. There is no pool, no gym and no area for lounging really. The hallways in the hotel have a pretty musty smell that I’m guessing is due to the high humidity here. The problem is that they use strong smelling automatic air sprayers to try to mask the smell and it makes it way worse. The rooms are pretty small and the vinyl flooring in our room was coming apart exposing a bright green sub floor. There are no mini fridges in the rooms, no water bottles and no irons. There are designated floors listed on the elevator where apparently there are irons. I didn’t use an iron because i didn’t want to carry my clothes on an elevator to another floor to iron. You can see the beach from almost every window of this hotel but it’s not a super clean beach. There are “no swimming” signs but they certainly don’t seem to be enforced. Breakfast buffet is pretty good and offers a good variety but eating at the restaurant at any other time of the day is not great. The servers are not very friendly. The food is ok. It is cheap, which is the only good thing. My server for lunch had no idea about the items on the menu when I asked questions. She said she forgot and needed to ask the kitchen. When I ordered my ceviche, she asked if I wanted the red sauce or lime juice and still brought out the wrong thing. I asked for water and she brought what tasted like tap water. I did find out the following day that bottled water was an option but she didn’t offer. I had to find her to pay for my tab and when I gave her a cash tip she didn’t even say thank you. I’m not sure how this hotel has a good amount of good reviews but I would certainly never stay here again.

Great breakfast and food options. First night I was by myself in restaurant and it took very long For a sandwich. Shower door was not working well (room 1511) and water was coming out of the shower enclosure. The safe in the room was not working. It never let us enter 4 numbers. Said error at the 3 numbers. Good customer service. Nice ocean view. A little noisy on that side...window didn’t close perfect. Good experience overall. I needed private wifi to connect (company restrictions), so I couldn’t connect to work.

In general my stay was great as usually have been in many Ibis i have stayed before, but this time i had some issues that i like to share with you in order to get it improved for future tourist or even myself if i come back to Cartagena anytime. Positive: The room was great and the breakfast was wonderful, i asked for a room in a high floor and they gave one to me with no problem, i left my luggage at check-out and went to took it back late at night with no problem and the staff were very kind most of them and most of the time. Not so positive: I could not book before arrive to the hotel but i previously checked the rates, is for this reason i consider the rate they gave me was quite high, even although i identified myself as an accord member before checking-in (almost 60usd for one night with no breakfast when i previously checked the rates on the web site and it were like 45usd or less for members), when i was going to pay for my stay, my debit card did not work in hotel's POS, i told the hotel receptionist that this was because it was an international debit card and they have to take it like a credit car in the POS, but it seems they don't know how to do this (or they don't have a POS to do so), so just simply told me that my card did not work there, the only option they offered me was that i had to pay in cash in the local currency (which i just had very little), given i had almost no local cash, finally after ask, i ended up paying in usd and the exchange rate they use in my appreciation was too low/unfavorable to me, then i think all the situation related with the payment was so sad/missmanaged (although the staff were very frienly). Lessons: try to enable the payment with international cards and/or prepare your staff in order they can use the systems properly

Staff members not friendly at all. Small room. Every time you take a shower there are leaks everywhere in the bathroom. Maintenance team is great. I saw pictures showing that there is swinging pool but there is none.

I didnt like this hotel. I didnt feel welcome. Even thought I did online check in, I had to do in person Check in at the hotel. In the reservation said I didnt have to pay anything at the hotel, but then they made me pay there saying they dont take online payments, then why I entered my credit card information to perform a payment? This just sounded weird. I didnt get an upgrade with my check in, the room was just standard. The welcome drink only included soft drinks or national drinks. To use an iron, you have to go to specific floors which is super inconvenient.
