« Great stay in a perfect location for the Eurostar »

Although this hotel was a little bit off the beaten track for many who want to explore the touristic side of Paris, I found it to be a perfect location as it was rather tranquil and great for the Eurostar (the Gare du Nord station is literally just around the corner). As a wheelchair user, it was fantastic to be able to stay in a fully-accessible hotel in a city-centre location with a wet-room shower. The staff were extremely pleasant and the room itself was ample for two people.

First Class, convenient and pleasant staff at all levels. These are the reasons I always try to return to this hotel when I staying in Paris for a few days or when I am passing to warmer climes in Provence.

« Nobody present at check out, no invoice »

The morning I checked out there was nobody at the reception. I left my details and room card. I received a phone call about an hour later with a promise that I would receive an invoice per email which I have not received.

As always the rooms and bathrooms are clean and correct in a Mercure hotel as well as the breakfast. Our room was located at the main street and was very noisy even at night.

Would have been perfect if the person at the desk had attended my call to make sure I would be awaked at a certain time. I’ve called many times on Monday night. My call was never answered.

Okay for sleep. In the Privilege room, the minibar is not replenished. English skills of the employees could be improved. Not all e-mails were answered by the management. Is there a suite? If not, the image must be removed from the homepage. How had the hope to be upgraded to the suite. Prvilege room was booked with the hope of an upgrade to the suite.

After conversations to say our room temperature was excessively hot we were told it was winter temperature. One room was 23 degrees the other was 26 degrees. The dials never worked and no follow up from staff after complainging

« Location good, but Service was mediocre »

I stayed four nights in December 2017. The location is rather central however a typical "railway station area". The room was OK and clean, however totally overheated and no chance to open the windows ("winter mode"). The parking garage was supersmall (typical for Paris) Don't come with a mid sized car. The receptoion didn't manage to put an exact address on my bill

« Paris is expensive for what you get »

Suite (2 rooms) + (pros): clean, quiet, room is staffed well at bathroom, enough towels, included minibar (soft-drinks), very comfortable bed (big), safe in room, additional cushions, good WIFI, big TV screen, nice lightnings in the room - (cons): cold all the time !!(no heating for the whole stay!), small breakfast, unconvenient toilet (glas door), open shower (floor gets wet and slippery) Although I told the reception several times a day during the whole stay that the room is cold, nothing changed - the room stayed cold (very unconfortable). The floors were warmer than the room! If there is no Nespresso coffee at the room, it depends on the person in duty if you get another coffee or not. Breakfast is small, compared to other Mercure hotels in Europe.

I had an initial problem when booking.. Accor central reservations in the USA tried to contact the Director but with the difference in hours meant when they called the only staff was the night security, I was advised to contact the Director and after several calls he was never available. I sent an email explaining the situation but without any reply. I called and the receptionist sad that she had reminded the Director that I awaited a reply. Nothing arrived from this “phantom director”. Nonetheless when I arrived to check in the wonderful reception staff were excellent. The chief of reception was first class and highly recommended. The morale is NOT to waste any time trying to contact any people other than the staff on the reception desk, as from this experience they prefer not to deal with problems and leave those matters to others. Apart from this incident and one at Mercure Ste Victoire near Aix I have had superb experience with The Mercure brand over very many years. I would return to this hotel in the coming months but hope I don’t have any need to contact anyone other than the first class staff who keep the Mercure quality alive. My best wishes go to the staff on the ground who keep the flag flying for Accor hotels. the USA

« Convenience for train travelers. »

Small, modern, & quiet. 4 min walk to Gare du nord. Most thing hated was the water tap being squeezes in far right hand corner making it odd to use. Room is adequate, wish it was a bit bigger. There’s a Nespresso machine.

« Perfect location for train travel. »

Chic - modern - functional - clean & tidy. 4 min walk to Gare du Nord. I didn’t like the water tap. It is squeeeeeeezed on the faaaaaar right hand corner of the wash basin. It is an overlooked design fault. Your interior designer needs an Ergonomics 101 course. One of your elevators needs some attention. Too much vibration & shaking.

« Very poor reservation experience tarnished our stay »

When I made the reservation, I specified that I wanted to book a parking space for our car - in fact we chose to stay at the Mercure Gare du Nord because the description indicated there was a car park. We were travelling by car and with a lot of luggage, and didn't want the car to be parked anywhere in Paris. There was absolutely NO FOLLOW UP on my request (and I am a Gold member). And when we arrived we were TOLD that the car park couldn't be used because of a lift problem. NO OTHER SOLUTION was offered and we had to figure it out ourselves. when I checked out, I asked the reception manager to make sure there were would a follow up on what had happened and she assured me the "director" would be in touch with me by Monday night at the latest. I obviously didn't hear from anyone. I hope that I will receive the promised email by tomorrow Tuesday!

« Many trips to front desk »

The hotel was very conveniently located for my needs. The room was small, but comfortable. My only problem was with housekeeping. When I returned in the afternoon, the door to my room was ajar. Needless to say, I was concerned and entered cautiously. Everything appeared to be okay and nothing was missing. I went downstairs to tell the front desk and had trouble explaining the situation to the desk agent because of language difficulties. When I returned to my room, my key did not work and I had to go back downstairs to get that resolved. Additionally, the coffee had not been replenished and I requested more from the front desk. The same agent said she would get some for me and called me later to tell me I could come get it.
