« Quiet, clean hotel close to key stations »

As older guests we were pleased with an easy walk from Eurostar with our luggage, good breakfasts and quick access to the Metro for 4 days visiting galleries and shops. This hotel is beside RER Magenta - next stop Grand Magasins. Friendly staff, clean room, self-service eco-friendly breakfasts. Only weakness was no top-up of toilet rolls and tissues.

« Mostly fine experience with one exception »

After arriving back at the hotel after a day of walking around Paris, we found that the front door sensor wasn’t working and the door wouldn’t open. There was no staff in reception or within hearing range to respond to our knocking at the door. Eventually another guest walked through reception and was able to trigger the door to open from the inside. I would usually hope to be able to enter a hotel or get staff attention at 4:00pm on a Saturday afternoon, especially when I’m hot and tired, rather than standing in the street in the sun for ten minutes. Otherwise the hotel room was clean and comfortable and perfectly adequate.

« Everything was fine, but this should not be Mercure branded hotel. »

We stayed one night at the hotel and everything went fine. The only two small things were: 1) slightly confused receptionist on the arrival, who did not automatically offered us a welcome drink as silver members and 2) my friend forgot a shirt in the room on departure, the shirt disappeared and the hotel made no inquiries into trying to recover it. Also the hotel as such should be more an Ibis or Ibis Styles, it really is not what Mercure brand should be standing for.

« Small rooms but an excellent clean hotel »

Warm welcome at the Front desk when we arrived late and friendly when we checked out. The rooms are almost bizarrely small but if you use them just to sleep in, you don't need much more. I wouldn't want to use the room for working as there's almost no space. Bathroom was spotless.

« Convenient but many short comings in the room »

The shower was very difficult to get into unless you were very very thin. The bed side light and the kettle did not work. The cupboard was too small in height, you had to fold skirts and trousers. Plug in basin not easy to use.

« power went out »

After 7am, the power went out. I awoke when the lights were on, but then the power went out. I couldn't find my clothes or anything in my suitcase. I had to shower in the dark. The power was out for about 20-25 minutes. When I told the lady at the reception that I would like a discount on my room rate for this inconvenience, she become hostile to me. I asked her to call the manager. She was again hostile with me. I asked again to call the manager. She did under duress, it seemed to me. The manager instructed the staff to give her a business card to me. No discount was provided to me. I left unhappy.

« Very disappointed. »

Reception staff were friendly. Room was reasonable. Corridors leading to the room could be better lit and refurbished. Night 1 - I booked a privilege room - Room number 101. Limited sleep because of the constant banging of the room doors adjacent to mine - room 102. Not sure if staff were using the room during the night but I did not get much sleep because of this issue. If staff are working on a night shift they need to respect that guests have paid for a room and a peaceful night of sleep. At 159 Euros per night I would expect better quality.

« Good location, not Mercure standard but, this is Paris? »

We've been in cheaper Mercure's, elsewhere, with higher standards of room space, breakfast, free minibar (non alcoholic) etc. However, a good location, and quiet (maybe the train strke helped with that as our room overlooked the Gare de L'Est platforms) and staff helpful. Sticky floor in the breakfast area - not to usual Mercure standards

« Front Desk Staff Might Scam Through Taxi Arrangement »

Unpleasant and disgusting. I am a platinum member, and I stay at many Accor hotels each year. This Mercure is the worst Accor hotel i stay before. Front desk is extremely unfriendly and not up to standard of Mercure. He did not greet, did not know about platinum memberships and not even giving me any of my entitled benefit! Upon checkout my sisters booked a taxi to airport and was told by the same front desk staff (26/03/2018 morning shift) he told my sisters that the cost of taxi WOULD NOT MORE THAN €60. However, the taxi driver tried to charge at €75 after start the journey. My sisters refused to continue the journey as it was not right to raise the fees, but the driver refused to let them take their luggages. Police came and called hotel, the front desk staff lied to police that the extra charges was because of waiting time, and claimed that my sisters late made the driver waited long! However, it was a lie! They came to lobby earlier and met the driver sharp at 11:45am. The front desk might has special arrangement with taxi driver in scamming! Accor has to investigate this and I demand such investigation!

Hotel staff were friendly, spoke good English, made us feel welcome. Breakfast buffet was very good, room was ok but expected more for a superior room with balcony if I am honest. The ceiling mounted shower head leaked upwards onto the ceiling and it was too big for the shower area so (as there was no door/curtain) the bathroom floor was swimming in water in seconds. I don't expect to have to put my towels on the floor to mop up water in a 140€ a night room! The mini-bar was only refilled with one bottle of water (on arrival it had 2 water and 3 soft drinks). The balcony was a rooftop terrace shared with another room and had no furniture for sitting out.
