I received confirmation email and text messages regarding my prior online check-in. Saying my key is ready at the Accor priority desk by arrival. In reality, when I arrived, and went straight to that desk, two of the staffs there know nothing. Did not speak any English. Have no clue about this, or about my reservation. Had to go to normal reception desk, told to wait with broken English no acknowledgement of both memberships or room reservation. Got upgraded to suites, but upon entrance at the room, it smelled heavily of smoking. And then asked to change room and given the original, whilst smaller. No compensation. And upon checkout, when the receptionist ought to return all 500RMB of deposits, she only gave me 400 at first (tricking me). I really don’t dont what to make of this hotel, or these chains of other Accor hotels. Dissapointment to say the least.

Very pleasant stay for 28 days in Urumqi. Great service by all staff , but with special service by Ms Cleo Chen and Mr Raymond Sha. Excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Great room.

The stay was nice, the staff has fluent english, which is rare in far west China. The location is quite strategic. Overall, I love my stay in this hotel. Recommended for someone traveling to Urumqi in pair.

I stayed two nights here - staff on check in were not helpful and not so friendly - I don’t think they are trained to deal with many international guests. Also the rooms were a little old fashioned and the decor wasn’t good. The hotel also hasn’t credited my point to my le club account more than a week after my stay.

« Payment dispute, mental stress!! »

Dear Mr Ishak Ibrahim,I booked this room for my Xinjiang guide, Mr Yang Yongzhi. I made Prepay Payment online in May ! But the hotel kept chasing him for payment thru the 3days ( checked in 15/6, checked out16/6). Mr Yang finally paid AGAIN( i.e, DOUBLE payment ! ) for the same room. I myself was in Xian, so Upposed to be enjoying 4days there before starting my 10days travel in Xinjiang, together with 3 friends. Imagine how vexing AND STRESSFUL it was for me too. Spoilt my tour! Can you n management PLEASE LOOK INTO THE MATTER. Dr C. C Y.

« This stay is the worst experience in serval stays with grand mercure Urumqi »

I was given a room at 910. the 9th floor is full of tourists. People chatted aloud in corridor at morning and late night. I even called security to let people quite. But it doesn't work. The breakfast area is noisy and crowded. When I checked out, I asked for a manager in present to discuss the issue. The hotel staff refused to let me meet the manager.

The stay was generally ok. But one day at midnight, some other guests on our room floor behaved not very orderly with shouting and pressing our room door bell, thus waking us up in the middle of the night, kind of scared. It was settled eventully after we called the reception. Not a very nice experience though!

I needed a quiet place to get away a few days during new year holiday in Urumqi to think about 2018 business in 2018, and I chose Grand Mercure Urumqi Hualing. A pleasant stay as before. My room was upgraded, Ms. Li Jin and Mr. Sha Lei, the front office managers are very welcoming and facilitating my stay extension. I keep dinning in Veranda Cafe and Thai Restaurants, all staff are friendly and attentive, Abudula and other managers are very familiar with me as I kept dinning in Hualing for many years when I am in Uruqmi. The Thai chef always greeting me with Savadika. In breakfast, chefs make omellete very good. The room1402 is spacious, kind of suite lay-out with a seperate yurt-style room, which was very nice. Sometimes I met Mr. Ishak the general manager in Veranda cafe, saying hello for short talk in English. He keeps overseeing the food and service. Ms. Coco, the Sales Director sometimes we talk, and she listen to my opinion. I like this hotel, restaurants and rooms, as people there offer best convenience to me.

The hotel is clean, the staffs are polite n cooperative, informative for the guests coming for the first time to Urumqi, especially the concierge on duty. The breakfast menu is delicious. But the pillows have to be upgraded as those are flat n not comfort for the neck.

« Excellent, marvellous »

Pillows are too flat, pls change or upgrade the pillows. For other room services are excellent, also for the hospitality of the staffs are wonderful. Breakfasts are yummy. Hotel location is really downtown surrounded by shops n restaurants. Very comfortable to go many places by taxi.

« Comfortable rooms, good location and very helpful staff »

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights 17-20th October. The concierge and counter staff were very accommodating. They verified the terminal of our flight, informed the taxi driver (who doesn't understand English) as to where to send us and sent us off. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. The buffet breakfast are both Western and Xinjiang. We enjoyed them heartily especially the sliced beef with Xinjiang noodles or placed the beef with salad in between the buns ( voila, you have Subway sandwich). The hotel's location is excellent. We took the bus to Danxia Rainbow Mountains and to the International Grand Bazaar. Got back to the hotel by taxi and the elevator by the side entrance from Hualing Commercial Centre took us directly up to our floor.
