Very impressed with the hotel. The rooms were compact but modern and I would recommend any visitors to include a breakfast at the hotel which was excellent.

Where to start? I stayed for 2 nights. On arrival I thought I'd have to put my bags into the lock room until well into the afternoon but they had a room ready for me. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The room temperature was exactly right and the air-conditioning worked. The room wasn't stuffy. I had the best sleep I've had in a long time. Thankfully the brand of bedding is for sale through their website. The cafe served really good coffee and pizza. Unfortunately they didn't have ice-cream - a minor let down. I'd definitely stay again.

Very disappointing. Having arrived at your hotel about 23.00 hours, after attending Addenbrookes' Hospital with my wife, who had serious eye trouble, we were told that there was just one room available and therefore it was at an increased price of £189. At that time of night and both of us extremely tired and needing to get up at 06.00 next morning for my wife's operation, we had to accept. We have NEVER paid that sort of money before. At breakfast my wife asked could she just have a yoghurt and a slice of toast , prior to her operation. She was told this would incur the full charge of £ 8.95. She refused.

I was impressed with the Ibis Cambridge. The owner spent money to properly plan the layout. There should be more check-in staff to assist as it does get crowded. Pricing may be better, but Cambridge does have a shortage of global brand hotels. Breakfast was nice, better if you have beef sausages instead of pork sausages. Perhaps this will make it easier for people who do not eat pork.

« Almost excellent but let down »

Doors to the rooms slammed very hard and made a loud bang when closing which meant you could hear other guests coming and going throughout the night. Noise otherwise was minimised by excellent insulation. Breakfast was excellent and featured lovely sausages and bacon but the scrambled eggs were a huge disapointment. inclusion of fried eggs would have resolved this instead of the kind of scrambled eggs you'd only describe as "hospital food".

« Good comfortable stay in a conveniant location for station »

Convenient location, comfortable room. good breakfast in a nice breakfest room. Entrance area is cramped and unappealing. Checkin is odd and not enough space for guests to wait. Toiletries arent very good. The towels are small are thin and theres only 1 per person too. Tea tray supplies are a bit mean.

We asked rooms with connected door, I talked with reception and got approved that we will get the room with connected, when we arrived the rooms weren't available, it was very disappointed .

Excellent - everything ran smoothly. Facilities totally up to date and they just work. The bar and reception area is young and trendy with great food and drink choices. All staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Breakfast excellent! Close to the station and my work offices so location excellent too. I would highly recommend. I only had one problem and that is that I couldnt use my mobile phone (I forgot my passcode) and there wasnt a phone in the room I could use so I couldnt ring people and felt vulnerable at night. I also needed a wake up call (because I couldnt use my phone) so a colleague had to call me.

« Underwhelmed and a little disapointed »

The hotel is OK but a little overpriced for what it offers. I wanted a double room but got a twin room (I do not understand the concept of putting 2 single beds together and calling it a twin when one mattress on the base(s) would have made it a double). When booking on website, no mention of twin room until payment made! I called to amend booking, was told double room now booked, arrived at hotel to be told no double rooms available. Hotel was full of very noisy children and parents, with doors being slammed all night long. Air conditioning is noisy and cannot be turned off, it blows air continuously which is very annoying when you want to try and sleep. Location is good but little niggles makes this hotel less desirable as other hotels in area are generally cheaper and better.
