Rooms, staff, facilities and, above all, the reef were all top class. Food was fine but not outstanding. I'd have liked less of the piped music around the pool and restaurant areas. But, overall, we had a fantastic time. Thanks and hope to see you again some time.

Great selection of food to choose from each day, friendly staff, animation team worked hard to keep guests entertained, hotel spotless with excellent facilities e.g pools, spa, dive centre, good service. My only criticism is that you did not serve bottled water at beach bar and at pool bar unless you paid extra (served in small plastic cup) although you did get bottles of water in restaurant only and bottle in room per day (sometimes had to ask for it as bottles had been taken already in the restaurant) . Also I would’ve liked the choice of a glass of wine at Papyrus Lounge rather than the in-house cocktails of an evening as part of the all inclusive package ( their was an additional charge for wine), but again had this served in restaurant) - otherwise would be scored 10

Serving wine at all time and other costly beverages would definitely have a direct influence on the package rate. For guests who would like to have an access to wine all day we prepared a new formula- Ultra All Inclusive, which is available to purchase upon arrival. « Food was the worst »

Really it was first time for me in Marsa Alam I have visited Novetel hotels many time out of Egypt, in different countries, Overall Novatel hotel location in Marsa Alam very good, stuff lovely, rooms interior design confident But my main problem in this trip was food and beverage was really very very bad and chiefs not following the same standards of Novel, items was very few and no varieties same in main dishes even sweets, i never see powder juice in 5 star hotel, which is depend on people mix water with less quality of power and big amounts of sugar, i didn't like it at all so i can say food was very bad i never enjoyed, although i tried Novetel out of Egypt many times with my family But due to food i never repeat it any more I love location, stuff, quiet, natural, but the food was the worst thing in my trip Thanks Mohammed Abou S. « Lovely staff made our holiday most enjoyable »

First time in Egypt and we were made most welcome by all the staff at the Novotel, nothing was too much trouble. Our accommodation was spacious, clean and well maintained. Yannis and Many looked after guests exceptionally well, they remembered what your preferences were and always asked if there was anything else they could do to help they made sure that our visits to the beach and bars were good experiences. Only sorry we didn't have longer than a week. Definitely want to return for another stay.

« Lovely hotel where everyone, reception staff, bar staff, animation team, restaurant staff to cleaners and gardeners were amazingly friendly »

We arrived in the evening and we're taken to our room along with our luggage in a buggy. Had requested a sea view and wasn't disappointed, it was lovely. The restaurant is large and bright and roomy. The food was good even if a bit repetative The staff definitely made our holiday and we always felt like we were among friends. The pool areas are like the rest of the site, spotlessly clean and well laid out. Overall it was a fantastic holiday.

We had a very relaxing week, with high lights. Snorkeling, fantastic and easy, even if you are a basic swimmer like me. Spa treatments were great fun. Food was very varried and all good. Trips to local towns a must. Hotel staff worked very hard for our pleasure. Loved our week.

Thank you Novotel for a lovely, relaxing and enjoyable stay. The staff were amazing from the reception, animation, bar staff, housekeeping, even gardeners! The food was delicious and had a great Christmas! The food and entertainment was excellent. One thing to mention, I had an allergic reaction to a mosquito bite and had to go to the doctor. I am used to this as it is quite common for me in Egypt. I had a normal hydrocortisone injection and some antibiotics. He wanted to charge me £400!! I know the price of the jabs as I have it often and usually pay maximum £20! He would not let me go until finally I paid £100. I was extremely angry about this. Similarly, another British family I met said they had a stomach bug again which is usual for Egypt and the medicine which costs normally around 40 Egyptian. The doctor charged 800 Euros!! This is madness and should NOT be happening in any hotel. Other than this we had a lovely stay with a beautiful room. Thank you Novotel to all staff for the best Christmas.

« Pleasant relaxing stay »

Check in was quick but had to wait quite a while to be taken to the room, after a long day travelling we just wanted to get to the room. The staff were all very nice and helpful but did not speak very good English so communication was difficult sometimes. Food was very good and kept hot which is good for a buffet restaurant, sometimes it was difficult getting a drink with your meal and wine was only served with meals. Bar staff were very good. Reef was very nice but during our stay several days we were not allowed in the sea because it was too rough, but it was very beautiful and unspoilt. We were not hassled on the beach like other resorts in Egypt which was good. The animation team worked hard but the evening entertainment was not very good, the hotel should pay for some professional entertainment. Did not like the organisation of the Dive Centre on the beach which was unwelcoming but the actual experience of the diving with the staff was good.

Staff were very attentive and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble however there just weren't enough of them. I would say the resort was only 2 thirds full but it was so difficult to get a drink brought to the table in the restaurant. We had nearly finished our meal by the time the drink arrived. There is only one restaurant and one bar (the pool bars close at dusk). limited food choice in the restaurant and we'd gone through everything after a week. The all inclusive drinks are very limited and wine is only served in the restaurant at mealtimes. I don't drink beer or spirits so no other choice in the bar other than paying for a drink. I imagine when very busy that the lack of other bars and restaurants would be an issue

Very friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere, very comfy sunbeds and beds in rooms, easy to get a drink in bar / pool area Disappointed with ease of finding a clean table at dinner (staff v slow in clearing previous away), and getting a drink at dinner, difficult to get easily get bottles of water, no public toilets around the main pol area.

It is true that it is not easy in rush period as a lot of guests are using the facilities at the same time. « Nice modern hotel. »

Spent a week all inclusive at Novotel Marsa Alam. Thought the hotel was really nice and exceptional value for money. As the hotel is pretty new you would expect clean modern rooms and facilities and we were not disappointed in this respect. There were a couple of minor niggles, when we arrived it took a long time (approx 1 hour) to get checked in and shown to our room and I think that this aspect could be handled better. The only lounge available in the evening was where the entertainment was held and if this was not to your taste (it wasn't to ours) there was nowhere else to sit and have a drink apart from outside. This really needs thinking about as when we where there it was fairly cool and breezy in the evenings so not particularly pleasant. It would have been nice to have an alternative bar where you could just chat with holiday makers. However the worst experience was the Italian a la carte restaurant, the atmosphere was not pleasant, we felt rushed and the food nowhere near as good as the main restaurant. Having seen an authentic looking pizza oven we were expecting great pizza, however what arrived tasted no better then a frozen supermarket pizza, not pleasant at all! To end on a positive note the staff through out the hotel were extremely friendly, everywhere was kept clean and food in the main restaurant was varied enough for a weeks stay and was of a high enough standard. We were particularly impressed by the Quality Manager Chloé who always took the trouble to speak to us to find out if there were any issues and noted down the points raised.
