« Friendly staff overall, the hospitality from thai restaurant which is on the 50th floor needs some improvements( one staff is not very friendly). »

Love this hotel- great facilities, warm staff and nice ambience. I love the Chinese restaurant on the lower floor, which has great Chinese food. I would like to send my speicla thanks to Miss WINNIE Ding( customer relations manager ) who always looks after me while my stay . Would like to come back again!

Everything's OK, except there is no ventilation in the bathroom. I stayed two nights in Sofitel Kunming, my room was facing the city and the east, the night view and the sunrise were spectacular. Front desk staff were professional and efficient for check in and out, housekeeping was also efficient and helpful, except for the last day when I checked out early in the morning, there was no other guest checking out, obviously I have picked up a wrong counter. During the check out procedure, usually trained staff in hotels would tell to you the room charge would be taken from the deposit or they would scrap the deposit slip and make a final settlement, etc. then give you an invoice, but this lady staff obviously was not in the mood and preferred to work in silence and disconnected with guests.

Nice big room with big plate of fruits. Very clean and comfortable bed. Too bad we stay too short less than 12 hours as we have to check out very early in the morning and check in very late in the evening. The down side is welcome drink they do not offer fresh juice

Magnificent hôtel, view offer the city is unique. Breakfast at 49th splendid with many choices and quality is not forgotten. We tried another 5 star hotel, believe me there is no comparison. In terms of general conform, decoration and western oriented service, Sofitel is a safe place to go to.

The hotel was very disapppointing. This hotel is reportedly the best in Kunming - but the experience does not live up to the expectation. The staffs' level of English was very poor. Staff seemed to find it funny that they could not understand what was being said to them. Service was very slow. The hotel ran out of champagne on new year's eve.

Would not hesitate to stay here again. Great food, room and service. The location is great too, it's a nice easy walk to the downtown area and Kunming is great. I'd recommend getting the breakfast included since the choices and quality of the food are outstanding. Everyone working there is very friendly and helpful. I don't have one negative thing to say about the place. I used their laundry service which I thought was very reasonably priced, and they were also able to do currency exchange for me (USD to RMB). The room was large and modern with a great view and the bed was extremely comfortable.

Front desk personnel was courteous and informative, check-in was completed in timely manner. Restaurant buffet breakfast and dinner staff was courteous and accommodating. Staff was very attentive in removing the empty plates / glasses from the table. Choices for the breakfast buffet were very good. Room attendants were timely in cleaning the rooms and attentive that there were (2) people in the room thus leaving more than the usual 2 bottles of water. A recommendation of possibly providing the lobby bar servers with more guidance. We had the complimentary drinks and we asked if we can take the wine glass to the room. The server was not sure and asked for the room number to ensure that the glass would be returned. Not sure if this is the lobby bar policy to ensure glasses are returned by guests. Overall a Good relaxing stay, will return again and will recommend this hotel to friends.
