Very well maintained and modern hotel although tmuch of the interior design was poorly conceived and rather urgly. F&B Manager Mr King LAN and Executive Chef Mo were both very friendly and helpful indeed but there was little sign of middle or other senior management on duty. My luxury room was excellent. The Executive lounge was specious with very good range of food during happy hour, but range of drinks and cocktail list were very limited. The female staff in the lounge spoke little English, appeared inadequately trained and need to be tasught to be pro-active with their service. Conciege staff and drivers did their best to be helpful which was a plus.

overall great!! the only issue i had in a club lounge, that they didn't have orange juice and apparently they were even not interested to get it for my from other outlet.

Sofitel Kunming is a wonderful introduction to Kunming, Yunnan. After a long, rough flight from the U.S., the terrific bed was a treat. The room amenities, especially the bathtub, lots of fun. The breakfast cannot be described as it features the best of both worlds: French and Chinese. There were very few Westerners in the city and in the hotel, but the hotel staff goes out of their way to try to be helpful not only at the front desk but also in the dining rooms. You'll love the experience.

Front desk staff are very nice and helpful. The room is very clean and very nice welcome fruit plate. Both of the restaurent the food are very good and on 49 floor coffee shop are very nice choice for breakfast also for buffet dinner. When we check out the Concierge staffs are very helpful to load our luggages in the car.

Excellent customer service during our check-in, especially for the Accor member. A thumbs up specially to the front desk supervisor, Ms. Vitamin Li 李霞. However, we have been given a wrong information by others at the front desk on the requirements of the swimming cap for the swimming pool. A great variety of choice for the breakfast, which is our first encounter with so many type of breakfast among our experiences with other 5-star hotel. Overall, it is a very good experience for our family stay in Sofitel Kunming and we will recommend this hotel to friends and relatives who are visiting Kumning.

My girlfriend and I already live in Kunming, but we decided to take one night at the Sofitel here as a treat. From check in, to dinner, to breakfast the next day, the service was absolutely stellar. We can both speak Chinese, but the staff was more than willing to speak to us in English. It was an excellent visit, we'll likely do it again.

Poor check in and out experience

The counter can not connect and retrieve the bookings for the same guest in one go. Requiring guest to provide info to prove booking. When checking out, the counter staff were slow in actions with two staff serving one customer. The staff was not intended to provide invoice and receipt if not asked. Just ask me to leave the room card and leave and they will then charge my credit card. The claims for the official receipts in China take long time using the Application even I told the staff that I need an official invoice will do.

We stayed 2 nights in Kunming on our way to Lijiang. We wish to congratulate the high level service which we have come to expect from the Accorhotels brand is well maintained here. The concierge went out of their way to help us with various matters including booking a car-sharing during peak hours and how to apply for a local sim card as a foreigner. Only issue we have at checkout we were told that we needed to pay for our hotel charges when our booking confirmation from Accor said otherwise (ie that there is no balance to be paid at hotel) This led to some confusion. I urge that Accor should look into their booking confirmation forms and correct this error.

I’m Accor member and book by cell apps, it was charge immediately and appear of my credit card statement, but I don’t understand front staff ask me pay again by RMB during my check-in? Therefore I settle again by WeChat. Under this circumstances I was pay twice. So please investigate and return the duplicate RMB to me by WeChat because I don’t want lost again the credit card bank charge and exchange rate.

Mr. KK, I need to apologize to you due to the bug on our official website & App, the money you paid during your booking is just the deposite, hotel cannot charge you without your authorization ( like your signature), but online page shows as paid already, you can confirm with your bank. Been before but now I was pleasantly surprised.Staff who work in the lobby understand more English which is big jump from last visit and we are talking six and a half years.I would like to say Tina in the lobby she know how to approach to any demand of the guests very happy with her also I would like to mention Deny he was very helpful wit my room problem solving Thanks for that he is a gentlemen I would like to mention Ilgiz he is in charge in the club very professional and I think he is born to work in this industry he knows exactly what is doing extremely happy with him keep him there he makes best expresso :) Manny thanks to Robb Chen he really make my night when he feed us for dinner Thanks again he knows what happen.And I would like to congratulation to the general manager Mr Andre Erasmus he really put a lot of hard work to the hotel and stuff and he done excellent job well done Finally can't wait to come again and enjoy in Kunming.And thing last many many many thanks to Shumea yl housekeeping good bless her for keeping our room so cleen and tidy and make us to feel like we are at home THANKS SHUMEA !!!!!

Extremely good experience to stay at the hotel. The services, facilities and staff are of high quality standard. Especially I enjoy the very good food and services from the executive lounge managed by the smart Russian young manager, Mr. Igitz (hope I had not wrongly spelled his surname as I lost his name card) and his two teammates. As a frequent traveller, the lounge is the best executive lounge of the many Sofitel hotels that I had visited for many years. I like Kunming. Other than the good weather, food and the nice golf courses, Sofitel Kunming would be another good reason for me to come to Kunming again and again for vacation. For hotels in Kunming, I would only recommend Sofitel Kunming and would not forget to book a room with club benefits to enjoy the good food and the top quality services of Mr. Igitz and his team. Big thumb for Sofitel Kunming.
