« Highly efficient checking in and out; Wonderful staff at the Executive Lounge; »

The front desk crews are much more experienced than my previous visits and as a result, the checking in and out processes were smooth and efficient. I was also very impressed by the hospitality at the Executive Lounge. I would like to mention Caroline for her attention to details and her genuine care for the best of the customers.

First stay ever in Sofitel- nice Rome design with complimentary VOD, a good way to kill time in hotel room. Food was nicely prepared in LAN restaurant, affordable with A+ membership.

« Fapiao Problem »

Front Desk staff kept calling back mobile after check-out for credit card 预授权 number issue. Was traveling for business reason and was in meeting with clients during the day. But kept receiving calls since the original credit card receipt at Front Desk was written with some characters and they cannot see clearly for the number........Then the western restaurant waitress starts calling from noon time for she had issued a meal fapiao with wrong number. The fapiao number is not the same with the printed one on the fapiao, which made the fapiao info different with the tax bureau record, and thus the restaurant cannot issue any further fapiao due to this mistake. She asked me to immediately return the fapiao while I'm already on my way to airport... Had other travel plan so cannot send her the fapiao by courier immediately, so received another 2 calls on the next day. Very annoying especially for the business people. The staff needs lots training on their professional, and their communication skills.

Everything was good,To be honest,I want to send my great thanks to Arrow ZHANG,lobby ambassador. Because I make a mistake about my reservation, whole front desk staff cannot change it,but Arrow deal with it easily with walking from lobby to front desk,he is so professional,also he helpd me with some issues during my stay and chatting with me about my experience. He speak a perfect English,his smile shows his enthusiasm. All in all,I give the high praise to Arrow ZHANG,happy Chinese new year and a bright future,also please keep in touch.

Very Cold at nite time. I complained already on the second day morning , asked them to adjust the heat (as temperature controlled by hotel centrally) and add blanket for me. Nothing has been improved when i get to room after a long working day. I was so disappointed.

The hotel is located in the centre of Kunming (better use taxi, subway is not very close). Rooms are very modern and equipped with everything one might need. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The view from the club level room is very nice too. The top experience is the extremely rich and tasty breakfast.

Staff very helpful. From reception, restaurant, club miles resto and housekeeping all is very good and nice. Hotel location also near to go shopping districts just 10 minutes by taxi.

The room was exceedingly comfortable and bathroom was very luxurious. We also enjoyed the wide range of food served at the breakfast buffet. The concierge, bellboys and lobby staff were always approachable and went out of their way to be assistance to us. However, the airport transfer driver assigned to us to pick us from the airport on 1 January did not wait at the correct pick-up point and in fact, alleged that we were waiting at the wrong place even though the e-mail confirming pick-up clearly said Exit C. He was not friendly and in fact showed his displeasure at the number of luggauges we were carrying. Front desk staff were also not always helpful and did not in fact provide a customer copy of the receipt for airport transfer and an invoice showing total charges until requested. No receipt was provided for the amount of deposit refunded to my credit card. We faced all these difficulties despite speaking fluent Mandarin, and would like to feedback our experience to management so that our return to your hotel would be more enjoyable. While we really enjoyed most aspects of our stay including impeccable service from the bellboys and concierge, the negative aspects somewhat marred the experience. We also would like to commend the Chinese restaurant's staff for lunch recommendations on 2 Jan 2018. The lunch was our best meal on our trip and compliments to the chef.

« Basics missing in a very luxurious hotel »

I stayed one night in the hotel, upon check in the AC did not seem to work and i called the hotel representative to check, i was told the floor is high up hence the room was very hot, which did not make sense. I left the hotel for the day and came back late and went to sleep for few hours to catch a early morning flight, the whole night the AC did not work and i had to open the window and sleep in the couch. When i mentioned this to the person in the front desk - her reaction was not the more concerning ... Also, the wifi is the worst i have experienced ever by a hotel property, you should rather not offer free wifi.

Our family had a great overall experience during our stay at the Kunming Sofitel. Kyle was very attentive to our needs from the very moment we stepped into the lobby. We also had a pleasant dining experience during the time that we spent at Club Millesime. All the female butlers were very attentive. Although the Club Millesime on the 48th floor was not open for breakfast, Caroline went the extra mile and ensured that our needs were well-taken care of from our very first breakfast at the Kwee Zeen on the 49th floor. She even arranged for us to be seated at the exclusive area of Club Millesime members and Accor Club members the 2nd & 3rd time we had our breakfast. Bravo Team Sofitel Kunming!

Buffet breakfast- excellent; 4. restaurants - may be holiday season , unable to book "western food" restaurant even one day ahead of tim; 5 Chinese restaurants - we had had three dinners there , it seems not enough chef to do the cooking - long wait for the dishes to come;

It was short but nice. I was hosting a business dinner and the catering manager OSCAR and his team worked very hard to ensure it was satisfactory to everyone. The club lounge was another highlight. Everyone there was nice.
