The Ibis Hotel is the typical low cost company, the 21st century new way client exploitation. First of all: pay extra for all, even for things not clearly mentioned when booking the room as for parking, which ends up being the same price of any other (and even better)hotel. Second the room we stayed at the Budget Ibis hotel reminded me more of a Scandinavian prison cell than of a hotel. The experience was suffocating. A room without windows that open, the bathroom without proper ventilation and a total plastic environment reminding an airplane setup, which for the price is not worth the experience Even the staff treatment is robotic as if "young and modern" should mean treating the client as of a cellphone screen character.

the smell in the room wasn't good. it seems related with the kind of window which doesn't open enough to aerate the room. other thing is the wifi signal on desk was poor demanding lot of patience and sit in a wrong posture on chair on trying better signal.

The smell in the room wasn't good enough, a part of this is related with a small gap to open the window., I had to sit uncomfortable on chair to use the small desk because of wifi signal was poor from the middle of room to window. I've never experienced something similar on accor hotels.

From the moment I checked in until the time I left, Ibis Budget has surprised me positively. Ibis Budget has been able to create a cozy environment in such a small room. They used an ingenious room setup, surprisingly well designed and thoroughly functional. A strong water pressure allowed for a revigorating shower and the breakfast was delicious.

Negative check in experience. We were never informed we’d need to bring the card with which we’d made the payment for the booking so it had to be cancelled and refunded and we had to pay with a different card. The member of staff at check in was very unhelpful about this and we were made to feel we’d done something wrong. When we got to the room a number of electrical sockets were hanging from the wall and we were worried we could be electrocuted by using them. Overall the paintwork in the room looked dated. Breakfast wasn’t good as none of the fruit seemed fresh. I’ve stayed in many Ibis and Ibis Budget hotels and this was by far the worst experience I’ve had. Would not recommend and would not stay again.

At check in, the receptionist demanded to see the card used for the booking (which was already paid in full). As we didn’t have it with us (we don’t travel with cards we don’t need and none of the confirmations mentioned this) we were forced to pay on a different card because of ‘safety’ concerns. Embarrassing and uncomfortable to be told off in front of other guests and staff and particularly irksome to not get an actual reasonable reason for this ‘rule’ when we asked the receptionist. The previous payment, we were told, would be processed and refunded in the next month. All of this because my partners physica presence at the desk (and passport as ID) weren’t enough to convince the lady he was, in fact, the card holder. room was dated and several electric fittings were hanging off the wall (including the light above the pillows which had exposed cables)

The room had a clogged sink, and it took one day for the staff to fix it. Besides the floor was dirty. I always use Accor hotels, either ibis budget or ibis and mercure, but this time the cleaning was a downside.
