Our experience at the hotel was really good. The staff was extremly helpful and professional. There was a lot of construction going on in the street by the hotel but that did not really bother us. The rooms were clean and tidy.

It was a nice hotell, with nice and clean rooms, and a good big bed. Very helpful and nice staff. The hotel-breakfast was not so good, and a little expencive. The pool-area was nice, but the pooledge was very dirty.

Mr M who is supposed to be the full office manager would have to be the worst and rude person l have experienced in all me travels.Not just this stay but also the last.Returning customers should be aware he will rip you off and lie.I will be putting my thoughts on all trip advisor etc regarding him and this hotel

Dear Timothy W., Dear Mr. W. First of all, thank you for your choosing Mercure Samui Chaweng Tana. I have personally checked and investigated on your comments, I understand that you were upset with MR. M as he applied an extra bed charge on your bill upon your departure. If It is this point, allow me to clarify the misunderstanding . Just to clarify the process of quoting rates; upon any request of rate by any guests, all staffs are trained to offer the rate for two persons or unless the guest mentioned that there will be a third person joining and require an extra bed upon making the reservation. For your case, you have called urgently on the 1st July to pick up your friends but upon arrival we found Mrs. W. were with her daughter, so we offer rate for 2 person at THB 2,000 / day room only. Mrs. W. informed us after that you will join on the 3rd July and will require an extra bed in the room and at that point of time itself Maffi clearly informed her that the extra bed fee will be applied (THB 425/day) if the extra bed is requested. On the 2nd July, you arrived early and asked our Housekeeping to set up the extra bed in the afternoon, staff called to confirm with you before set up extra bed. Upon check out, you were very upset that MR. M charged you for an extra bed fee without informing you, so you took the bill to check with Mrs. W. in the room and after you came down and settled the bill. Mr. W., I would fully understand if you thought that the initial room charge would include the extra bed but actually it is not. You may have felt that staffs have tried to apply an extra without informing you. I would like to reassure you that Mr. M did not apply any extra charges or rip you off, he only applied what were already confirmed with Mrs. W. upon arrival. Mr. M has been working with us for nearly 3 years with no track of being aggressive or rude to any guests. We thank you for your patronage and sincerely hope that you will understand our situation. Staff were really friendly and helpful ,nothing was too much trouble. Nice comfortable room and surroundings, not much of a view but didn’t expect one being away from the beach. Plenty of shops close by as well as places to eat. I had room service first night as so tired and it was really delicious. Breakfast buffet had plenty of selection but food was warm not hot to be honest. If this hotel had a small fitness room it would be great, I used the pool both days and I had it to myself both times..water is nice and cold.

Nice employees, odor in room

Staff are really friendly and accommodating. However, our room had an odor that felt to us like mold. Hotel is near shops and restaurants but not right on the beach. We will not be back because of the odor. We did move to a hotel nearby, right on the beach that has a fresh newer building.

This is the forth time to stay at this hotel. We had requested a top floor room, but this was not available. The room that we stayed in had an issue with the aircon, the complained for this was handled quickly but only partially left us with a slightly better air con temperature but a vibration which we did report. One of the main reasons for our return was for the beach bar set up only to be very disappointed it was no longer there but a building site, there had been no mention of this on the website

I had booked 3 rooms, 6 people, another 2 rooms booked, 3 people directly by friends in our party I emailed requesting early check in; reply indicated that may not be possible but we would be in priority Front desk were slow with the check in - why can't everything be ready for our arrival - IBIS on Samui are more efficient Front desk staff were also slow, and not paying attention to the needs of the party My partner went to the front desk to follow up on check in as it was past 2pm - he came back saying we are not staying here again; staff attitude and arrogance. This reminded me of another stay at the this hotel where we experienced this same staff arrogance. We finally got our room keys around 3pm!! What happened to the promised priority? We were told we could go over to the beach; however, we were not told that building was in progress, there was no private area and beach bar that we were expecting - very disappointing. The air conditioning in our room was not working; after a couple of calls it was apparently switched off in the machine room. It transpired that all 5 rooms in our party had the same issue with the Air Con. Another problem we have experienced before when staying at this hotel. There appears to be an arrogance in this hotel that we do not experience on Koh Phangan or at the IBIS on Samui. The location of the hotel is the only attraction - with the expected beach and beach bar and very close proximity to Poppies. I doubt very much we will return again.

This may not be for everyone but we love it this is our 3rd stay and we will be back next year hopefully to the new hotel.Staff cannot help enough breakfast excellent and organising tours made easy and reasonable A bit at the edge of Chaweng but we like that. Beach,although across the road is perfect though this trip due to building works it did not look it's best but we are sure it will be amazing next year after works completed Thank you Mercure Tana for another perfect stay Katie and David
