Staff were friendly and the hotel was very nice and modern inside. The cost for one night was fairly extortionate during the Fringe, but it did mean I was only 5-10 mins away from any of the shows I was seeing. It felt very safe and secure with keycard entry to the hotel late at night and to the lifts to bedrooms. However, the noise from the pubs below was still very loud- even on the eighth floor.

We stayed at Ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge for 5 nights and the hotel was quite new and the room was nice and tidy. I've read reviews saying that it was really tough to get a whole nights' sleep because of nearby bars and clubs and such, but we never experienced that. We had a quiet and pleasant stay. Very serviceminded and helpful staff. Tasty breakfast with a variety of food. It was also very nice to have a hotel bar open around the clock, and even serving food. The hotel was very well situated in the middle of the city centre, old town. I could recommend this hotel and will certainly stay there again without any hesitation.

The staff was extremely nice and helpful to some clueless American's. I didn't know how to dial a European phone number and one of the staff did it for me. So helpful. We had to leave our luggage for pick up later after the 12 checkout and it was such a big help to us. We also enjoyed the breakfast. Being American, we would have liked some wash cloths in the room as well as some tissues but our room was comfortable and very clean. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay in Edinburgh.

We stayed two nights and were very happy with the location - very close to the Royal Mile - our room, service provided on check-in, restaurant and check-out. The breakfast had a very good choice of hot and cold breakfast dishes. My husband was extremely happy with the Haggis that was available for breakfast. Our room and bathroom were a very good size - clean, air conditioned, and no traffic noise. Would recommend to friends and also stay again.

We stayed for 4 nights in a room on the 8th floor. The room was very spacious and comfortable, and pretty quiet as well, with the exception of the bathroom door, which made an extremely loud bang every time you opened or closed it fully. It would have been convenient if the room had some additional features such as a safe or a refrigerator, but this certainly was not a necessity.

« It was an awesome stay and we were completely in love with the city and the places there including the hotel when we had to left! »

The staff was always cheerful and helpful. We had a great time in the hotel although we spent most of the time outside. During breakfast (and most likely most of the meals but we‘ve been there only for breakfast) you could chose the songs they played which was really cool! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for something in the very centre of Edinburgh city with a great atmosphere.

It was a good experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the room had everything that was needed. However, the cleaner forgot to clean under the beds and the view from the room was directly into a wall but apart from that, yeah it was a good hotel. The best thing though is that it’s on the royal mile. Close to everything!

No proper reception area - just a shelf to the side. Staff have to hover in front of it and have to turn their backs to do the admin. So inefficient! Room was very basic and clearly decorated on the cheap. Shower room felt like something better suited to a caravan. Breakfast was OK.
