« We started to feel like it was a retirement village - no offence to retirement villages »

We wanted a quick getaway to somewhere that would cater well for 3 young girls under 7yrs old. This was not really the place. It was nice, ok, satisfactory, but I wouldn't go there again with children, nor would I recommend it to anyone who isn't interested in golf.

« Anniversary trip exceeded expectations »

My fiance and I tend to travel around Australia often by car and prefer to usually stay with the Marriot group because of our loyalty points that have accumulated over the years. Our first experience with the Accor group was not pleasant, and although I do not blame the hotel staff, I expected a lot more from Pullman Magenta Shores. The big hustle was just unfortunate, to have a non-working TV, to have mosquitos and dead bugs on the walls, and then to have two large cockroaches around the room was terrible. When they recommended us to move to Mercure, I was not only excited to get out of the hotel but to finally start our holiday after a whole day of moving around. The lady who tended to us, Emma (Assistant Manager) was wonderful and very helpful in making us feel comfortable and also upgraded us to have the most amazing room with the best lighting. She should definitely be in line for the Managerial position once that opens up! We loved it and look forward to coming back with our families!

Great, friendly service at check in. Not as friendly checking out, although still polite. On check in I was told I was "guest of the day" and had complimentary wine and breakfast. I received the wine which was lovely but when I went to the restaurant the next morning was told that there was no mention of this on my account so wasn't provided breakfast. On check in I was also told they could use the credit card they had on my file to pay for accommodation but when I checked out the next morning was told there wasn't any credit card on my file. Curtain didn't quite close properly in the room but overall still a good experience.

« Relaxing weekend getaway »

The Mercure exceeded my expectations! We spent two nights over a weekend, in a one bedroom, it was extremely large and has beautiful view of the golf course. Fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, oven, microwave. Everything you could expect to find in your kitchen at home. Extremely friendly staff! Our keys stopped working and they quickly replaced them for us. I would definitely stay here again.

The room was awesome and the service impeccable. The only criticism I would have is the menu for dining at night. I eat low carbs and a high fat diet. The menu did not have a selection that I could chose. The only item that came near had pickled concoction on the plate which was absolutely disgusting. I ended up ordering a cheese platter for after just so I didn't leave hungry. The meat was overcooked and the sauce was flour based. You need more variety and combinations that actually balance each other out. What I got was a bad experience.

« Nice and relaxing. hubby loved golf and I loved the day spa. »

Rooms were lovely, service was awesome. Hubby loves the golf course. Only disappointment was that the BBQ area was not able to be used. The pool was very clean and relaxing to be by.

i found the staff at the accomodation side very friendly and helpful. we planned a big dinner to celebrate a family occasion, unfortunately almost everyone was disappointed with the meal...the food was not up to the hotel standards- tough or cold meat, scallops that had no flavour, and the staff choose to not serve my 7year old his dinner til the mains came out ( which was very slow) after 8.30. also we had to go to the bar to get our drinks, such a disappointment for such a lovely setting. the breakfast buffet the next morning was also disappointing,- cold bacon and hash browns!
