« Comfortable, roomy accommodation with fully equipped cuisine, quiet and secure. »

We have stayed at Allegro Nantes ten times over several years to visit family. It is in a perfect location within walking distance of bus, tram, market, grocery and tratteur. The apartment was clean, quiet, and uniformly furnished. We did notice that the apartment showed signs of wear: The apartment door paint was scratched, the carpet was worn with a burn spot. The glassware was not well matched and when we asked for two additional stemware glasses, none were available. This has not been true on previous visits. The staff are always friendly and we were given a choice of two apartments, which we appreciated.

« First experience of aparthotel »

Good location geographically in Nantes. Friendly and helpful staff on reception desk. Slightly dubious area though, a lot of dodgy characters hanging around outside the Carrefour City just around the corner and almost below our window. The room however was great, enormous bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped with the exception of a kettle, had to boil water in a saucepan to make a hot drink, there was a filter coffee machine but we had instant coffee with us. Carpark was nice, well lit, secure and reasonable at €10 a day. Parking on street outside is limited to 3 hours max but free between 19:00 and 09:00. Our first visit to aparthotel has opened our eyes to a new experience which we have already checked locations of others.

« Very nice place. Very helpful staff. »

Excellent place and very helpful personnel. Small feedback on improvement. 1) No cutlery available in room. 2) Microwave is placed quite high and a little inaccessible. Overall - Enjoyable Stay.

« Room not as described, indifference and unhelpfulness of reception staff »

We were misled, when we made our booking, into believing that the "superior studio" as pictured on our booking form would have a table, sofa, coffee table and at least a kettle in its "fully equipped kitchen". We were not at all happy to find the room we were given had NONE of these! As we had arrived shortly before reception closed, we were unable to bring these issues up until the following morning. The receptionist did not seem at all concerned, merely saying there were no other apartments available. Later on that day I noticed that several apartments were being serviced and asked a different receptionist if an alternative room was available. Again we were treated with an attitude of indifference and unhelpfulness, with the same answer - there were no other rooms available. Over the course of the next 6 days it became blatantly obvious that there were vacant rooms but presumably too much trouble for reception to move us. For example room 4001 was unoccupied for the whole period! We had also asked about car parking on site and again were told none was available. Funny isn't it that whenever I went to the refuse bins at night , which were in the car park, there were several unused spaces? My recommendation to anyone booking into these apartments is to make sure you are NOT given a room number beginning with a 3. The corridors are pitch black but do of course have lights with motion detectors. Those rooms at the far end do not have close access to a fire escape by the way. Sorry, but we did not find the apartment enjoyable, comfortable, practical or usable for self catering.

« Good value aparthotel »

Stayed for one night. Best approached from the north or east as the city centre is a maze of one-way streets & pedestrianised areas. There is parking. Room was clean and well appointed. Gentle 20 minute walk from the castle and shopping areas.

We had a bad experience with checking in and parking. We arrived just before 6pm and I aaked about parking. I was told there was no parking left. I parked the car and the trailer tent on the street. We then found reception closed and had no checkin desk or details. If we had not met another guest who helped us we would have been in trouble. It was stressful. Later, I looked in the garage and saw parking spaces and I parked there. I paid and was happy to pay. It was the worst checkin experience of my life. Not a welcome.

« Good residence with friendly and helpful staff »

Arrival and location was easy - near to a number of transport possibilities. We dropped our bags off for storage at 10am and returned at around 1pm later the same day - our room had been prepared well and was clean, tidy and presentable. We were booked in, given access codes and introduced to the facilities with the minimum of fuss. The sound insulation of the property was very good. We asked for extra pillows, these were delivered to our room whilst we were out. Some points for thought. Breakfast over the four days was variable. The first two days it was very good. The third and fourth day, the staff member appeared to be struggling to keep up, and items ran out without being replaced, including the coffee machine and some of the bread. We would have liked to have seen some muesli on offer for breakfast cereal. The first evening, there were a large number of late arrivals, up to, and past midnight. I am not convinced all of the people had a booking at the hotel, and appeared to be sleeping on the floor of people who had rented the apartments. On other nights, a number of men stood in the courtyard late, having loud conversations. I recognise this is not something the hotel can do much about.

« Check-in process was poor and level of service was not highlighted in reservation. The room condition was also poor. »

The reservation did not highlight the fact that the checkin desk had limited hours. We arrived at 1pm on Sunday and the checkin desk was closed. No one answered the regular phone nor the emergency contact phone number. We were travelling with 3 young children and were forced to wait around until the front desk re-opened at 2:30pm. We got a confusing email that was forwarded from the front desk on off-hours check-in, but there was no envelope with our name in the key box. Once we got into the room, the curtain rods were broken and one of the support arms for the pull-out sofa was also broken. Given how poor the check-in process was, we had no desire to deal with the front desk to get these resolved. Upon opening the kitchen cabinet, we also noticed the hotel policy on having to take out our own garbage and clean up the kitchenette area. None of this was highlighted in the description of the reservation. Had the reservation stated that the "hotel" didn't even offer basic services like cleaning and garbage, which is standard even for AirBNB now, we would have booked another property. I understand the steps necessary to keep costs low at this property. However I'd appreciate those policies and conditions be made visible during the reservation process. Otherwise if feels like a bait-and-switch whereby I assumed we were booking a hotel property instead of some low end furnished apartment.

The whole experience was brilliant and I will definitely using the hotel chain again on future trips. Just needed 1 English speaking channel on the TV and another pillow as the pillows were small.

This is the 5th time we have stayed at the Aparthotel Adagio Access Nantes Viarme but this time we decided to upgrade to a larger room and went with an apartment with a separate bedroom. The overall layout was a little strange, having access doors directly into the bedroom as well as the living area and it caused confusion to several guests who were staying in the room next door, as we had 3 lots during our stay who tried their key in our door. The issue, as we saw it, was that the room number was on the bedroom window and not on the living room door. The bed, as so many in France are, was like sleeping on the floor. I simply do not understand the need to have such hard beds in hotels, I actually had to go and purchase a duvet, and sleep on it folded up, to give me a little bit of extra softness to the bed. The tumble dryer took 3 cycles (THREE HOURS) to dry our clothes. Whilst we appreciate that the reception staff paid for the 3rd attempt for us, we still had to pay out 8 euros to end up with wet clothes. The biggest issue though was the faulty heating system. We stayed from Friday 23rd December to Monday 2nd January and on Wed 28th, the heating started playing up and we noticed it was getting colder in the apartment. By Thursday it was bitterly cold and my husband reached up to the vents to find that they were pushing out cold air, despite the heating display saying it was on 25. We spoke with reception who did apologise and inform us they had a couple of other rooms having similar issues but as there would be no engineer back on site until Jan 2nd the best they could offer us was a convection heater. Whilst this did help, the air conditioning/heating system carried on pushing out cold air. When the vents were closed off it made a noise so at night we had to open them to get sleep, resulting in the rooms getting cold again. At 6am every morning one of us got up to turn the convection heater on, so that the room temperature was bearable when we got up a couple of hours later. We did not feel safe leaving the heater on all night. Other than this we relied on the heated radiator in the bathroom for warmth and the wall heater in the bedroom that only seemed to want to work in the evening and we had no instructions on how to change the settings on that. As a client with many health conditions, including osteoarthritis, cold temperatures (and unnecessarily hard beds) cause me a lot of pain, so these issues did me no favours at all. I am certain that the bed on this occasion was much less comfortable than previous visits. Even my husband struggled to sleep in it, and as a truck driver he is quite used to less than luxury sleeping environments.

« Very cold stay with a lot of problems.. »

I want to complain for my horrible stay in hotel Adagio Nantes Viarme. So, after reach the hotel we came into a room. Heating was not working, inside room was around 10 Celsius degree less than in lobby or hall. It was reported and we changed room to another. In another room flush in the toilet didn't work. It was reported in 5 minutes. So they decided to move us to another room, where the flush was working and was quite warm - but to be honest ventilation didn't worked properly as well. In THIRD ROOM after 1 hour we noticed another problem - after one person had shower, when she finish I wanted to have one, ane after 20 seconds it started to running cold water!! I report it to reception, lady came to us and said: water container with hot water is separate for each room and it is very small... So she said something something what made me totally angy: 'Maybe tommorow you will take the shower?' I didn't agree so I received a key to another empty room, to took the shower there, and I ned to gave the key back (after shower) back to the reception back! What the hell is that???? It is ridiculous! I opaid for room and I ned to change my room 2 times, and took a shower in another room!!! Staff is completely unproffesional and rude. Only one male receptionist during check in was billingual. Ladies don't speak english language.

Room was clean, spacious and petit cuisine well equipped. Staff friendly and helpful with extra glassware request. One thing: the sink drain in the bathroom was plugged and very slow. Last time we stayed, the shower drain was very slow. This should be reviewed and water run by household staff periodically and drains maintained better. Merci!
