Upon checking in we were given a room that had not been cleaned and were offered another room (no bath as it was a disabled room). Ordered drinks at the bar and the coffee was cold!!. However reception staff were excellent ,taking note of my comments which I gave directly to them so my review would not come as a surprise to them

The room was clean and quite satisfactory, the bed very comfortable. The breakfasts were very good. The staff were helpful and pleasant. I was however quite shocked at the meanness apparent in not putting any soap in the room, either a small bar of soap or a soap dispenser. This seems to conflict with basic hygiene standards and we found it bizarre, and reminiscent of hotels I stayed in on visits to Russia many years ago - why so ?

Thank you for helping me celebrate my 50th birthday. I had booked 4 rooms for 8 adults and 1 child and the staff made sure that these rooms were all close together (Thank you Safi). Rooms was spacious and clean. It was a lovely touch to get a card and a box of milk tray in my room. The service in the restaurant in the evening was excellent even though it was busy. After a slight error with two steaks, which were replaced, the food was perfect. Breakfast was up to the usual good standard and the weather held off for our inclusive entry to Leeds Castle the next day. We will continue to stay at the Mercure Great Danes.

Good But....a little dissapointed when arriving at this hotel....needs a bit of work...receptionist Rosie and Fiona from housekeeping were the saving grace for this hotel. Lunch was good....breakfast was good...bed was good....pillows good.....location and outlook very good....booked Privileged Room (not a Privileged Room).

My experience started the worst way, payed £20 for early check in and waited 20 minutes for the receptionist to arrive so I could do the check in. Paying to wait on a lobby doesn’t make much sense to me. The room was smelling bad, a mixture of old and dirty carpet with tobacco, had to open the windows for some fresh air, by the way the window safety was broken so I could fully open one of them, good thing I wasn’t suicidal. The bathroom was so so old, needing urgent refurbishment. The hotel is old and expensive, for those conditions had to be a lot cheaper. Bad relation price/quality.

I have stayed in 5 hotels in the last 8 days and am not able to remember my stay in detail. However, I do remember that as in all Mercure hotels I was unable to send emails using my usual Windows Live Mail and had to go to the BT website instead. Also the strength of the Wifi signal slowly declined. I was grateful for a room at the rear of the hotel but was disturbed by an intermittent rumbling noise, presumably from the heating or air-conditioning system

Room was terribly hot with no air conditioning or fan. Shower had a thermostatic unit so badly calibrated that, even when set at lowest temperature, there was a clear risk of being scalded. Place thoroughly shows its age. Curiously, on leaving, no staff ever asked how was our stay (don't they care?). In summary, it was passable for the one night, but won't be going back.

It was an amazing stay. From start to finish there was no fault. Plenty of parking, so no need to stress about space. Upon checking in, the receptionist was very helpful, and was accommodating to our request(s). We had to add an extra bed in the room, and he did this with no fuss. The room was clean, suitable for my needs, and with a nice big TV! Food at the restaurant was really nice, with a lot to choose from. Breakfast and Dinner was really nice! One thing they could look at, is the portions given at dinner. I had Chicken Tikka Masala on the second night, and it was a small portion. I was left hungry :( also we ordered Pitta bread and hummus for £6+ and again the portion was small. Overall the hotel was a great experience! Swimming pool, gym 10/10!

Staff very warm and helpful. Beds huge and comfortable. Had lovely walks in the gardens. Pool looks lovely. Had an excellent pedicure. Dinner on Saturday night was delicious. Only problem was that Saturday lunch was just sandwiches and no gluten free options.

Room Extra large and very comfortable bed. ample coffee etc. Staff throughout hotel were helpful and very professional. We attended a charity function. Food was extremely good, a throughly enjoyable evening. Only downside was that the shower area in the spa needs a bit of TLC (flooring coming away). Would also have been useful to have spin dryer for swimming trunks.

My view was of a flat roof with a pile of rubble which had fallen from the side of the building. On the plus side I could watch the wagtails and goldfinches wash in the puddles on the flat roof
