« Cold, smelly, noisy room. »

This hotel fell far short of expectations for the brand. Room was very cold and although additional heating was requested, this was never provided. It also had an unpleasant aroma of sweaty socks. Delightful. The paper thin walls added to the overall ambiance. Nothing quite beats the stereo sound effects of your neighbours' nocturnal bathroom visitations, never mind the noise from outside at kicking out time in Inverness. I won't be rushing back.

« Could have been better. »

Location perfect. Room pleasant. Disappointing to find that we had no hot water for first 36 hours of our stay. Attitude of hotel to our situation was disappointing.

« experience spoiled by outside noise »

Some of staff were a bit unattentive. Shower did not work properly. Double glazing in bedrooms needs renewed to prevent some of the late night noise entering bedrooms.

« Slow service, cold breakfast, awful shower »

Sorry to report, but it was pretty awful and I doubt we will be back. On arrival Matthew, the host, did not say hello or welcome us. Instead, he looked flustered and faffed about for ten minutes trying to check us in. This man lacked both basic manners and social grace. He didn't explain the facilities available to us, or offer us the room upgrade which we later learned about. When we checked out at the end of our stay he was just as ignorant and unfriendly. Dinner the first night was pleasant, however we had to ask two different members of staff for condiments a total of four times, then we waited a very long twenty minutes before our drinks were served. Our room, 410 was nicely designed however the shower was only luke warm with poor pressure, no matter what hour of the day we used it. We requested the use of an iron which took around half an hour to get, by which time it was too late for us. Putting on make up and getting ready was not easy due to the absence of a mirror above the desk in the bedroom and poor lighting in the bathroom. I had to sit on the floor infront of the full length mirror instead to do my hair and make-up. Then we come to breakfast.... Both mornings we arrived fairly early, yet the buffet breakfast was cold and unpleasant. The dining tables are old, scratched and some of them are wobbly. I looked forward to using the swimming pool, which is no longer there and this was very disappointing, as was the telephone conversation I had with the receptionist when I requested the code to the gym suite. She would not give me this number over the phone and insisted I go downstairs to the desk in person. Why? I did not want to queue at that desk to face thosr members of staff again. The staff in the bar were always pleasant and on the Saturday night, poured a lovely gin. The cleaners were also pleasant. However, the reception team were very substandard in comparison to our last stay with you in September 2016. I'm sorry to report this to you, as you have the potential to run a brilliant hotel in the center of a beautiful city, but you're falling very short of the mark and we do not feel compelled to return.

« The worst I have experienced »

Not hot water which staff knew about before they took our booking. Paid a premium for pretty run down average accomodation. Restaurant has lights that's don't work so you can't read the menu without moving, one of the lifts doesn't work, it's an overall joke of a place.

« Poor experience »

Our rom was really noisy with pub people yelling in the street until late at night. There was no hot water or heat for two days. The staff was trying to fix the hot water and they did provide us with a space heater but, it was really uncomfortable.

« Confused and conflicted by different markets; not a four star operation. »

Inverness is a lucky destination for hoteliers with undeservedly high rates being generated because of demand for rooms in excess of capacity. There are no hotels which fulfil quality expectations.

« Style over substance »

This is a beautifully decorated hotel in a central position in Inverness. However our experience was not the best. We informed reception at about 8pm prior to going into dinner that our room was freezing cold and that we only had one st of towels. The receptionist said a heater would be put in our room and towels taken up. After dinner at about 10.30 we went upto our room which was still freezing and still one set of towels. We rang reception and eventually both items were delivered. The heater was faulty! Also one bed had a blanket, the other did not so I spent a very cold night.

Nice room with a view of the river. Shower water temperature never got above warm. The room needs more drawer space. Very good breakfast......my first taste of haggis!!!

« Excellent brilliant »

Brilliant standard of accommodation, can't fault it, ate in Brassarie Restaurant, food a little pricey, we were on a £25 business allowance which really limited the choice, but quality was excellent..

« Poor experience »

Room was very small. carpet was not laid properly. Shower was very poor. Staff helpful. Very expensive, very noisy. Poor car parking. spaces cordoned off for no reason and my car was blocked in by other guests at the hotel. At breakfast, my plate was removed before I had even finished by breakfast.

No parking, odd smell in room, no heating in room, no hot water in shower in morning. Food in Brasserie restaurant was quite good and staff were very friendly.

« Room was ok, but staff was not helpful and did not keep it's promises »

I booked a compact room, so I expected a small room. The room was small, but that is ok. The bathroom seemed remodelled, it was modern and clean. The room itself was also ok, only the carpet was a bit wavy. But it was very loud. There is practical now sound insulation from the door to the corridor. The breakfast was ok, not great, but ok. However, worst is the car park. It is not hotel owned but a public one. It is very narrow and people are parking everywhere, not only in marked spots. My car got damaged there. I was promised CCTV will be checked and I will be called in my room later this evening. I did not get called the whole evening. On checkout next day nothing was known about the accident. The manager was called. He was not helpful. He explained to me, that there is nothing he can do. It is a public car park, there are signs which state that (I checked and yes, there are signs, not big ones, and the sign on my side of the car park was behind some closed off parking spots behind a construction fence). So the hotel is not responsible for any damages. And there is no CCTV. The cameras are only for registering the number plates to ensure the parking fees are paid. So why was I told otherwise the evening before? Why was I not called back? I mentioned for ensurance reasons I might better call the police. He did not offer any help with that, too - execpt giving me the numer for contacting the police. That I will have to pay for the damage is one thing. But just making promises (to get rid of me?) when reporting it and not really being helpful when I ask about it on chekcout is plainly cheek. Never ever will I stay there again. It was way to pricey (the room and now with my damage). I cannot recommend anyone travelling by car to go to this hotel. On this chaotic car park I never would park my car again. With no way to park the car and for what they are offering it is way overprized.

Hotel really nice, had planned a wee treat for friends, I did not appreciate the receptionist being so vocal about how much the balance to be paid was, I think a bit more discretion is called for .

Overall it was a good experience. Special thanks to the breakfast staff who organised some cheese for me. I would like to point out that on the day of my arrival your front-desk staff could have been a bit more smiley and welcoming. I appreciate that we might all have difficult days, but the front-desk is the first impression you get of a hotel and it tends to stick with you.

« Disappointed »

Room old fashioned, letter informing us no hot water for a few hours. Next day still no hot water. Informed reception and no apologie and bluntly told engineer coming. This I feel was unexceptale as a genuine apology would of done and understanding inconvenience of not getting shower before checking out would of been a lot better way to ease this situation.

« Nice hotel, great location, oops....no hot water! »

Was so excited to see a big bathtub to soak in and....the boiler failed! No hot water at night or in the morning. I'm sure the staff was embarrassed. Not much you can do about that.
