On arrival to the hotel the reception area smelt damp and it was apparent the had been a recent leak with a large bucket located in the seating area. Our room was nowhere near as clean as I would expect, there were bits/ streamers on the carpet from previous occupants, the dark wood furniture was full on finger prints and looked very tired. In the bathroom a glass had a toothpaste streak yuk, the toilet systern kept running on and off throughout the night and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. On arrival I ask about Gluten free breakfast and initially they could not give me a answer however on a plus point the chef made my breakfast separately to prevent cross contamination. Another positive the room did have nice view and the hotel is set in lovely ground however the hotels interior is very dated and tired certainly ready for a refurb.

Do not plan an event here,you will feel let down and out of pocket. Drinks served from cans and charged at ridiculous prices, stale beer, very very poor food which leaves you ill The most unprofessional hotel I have ever stayed in

We were allocated room 20 on arrival. My husband noticed the window was open slightly & when he went too shut the window the handle came away. My husband went to reception too report it & a duty manager came to look. He said it looked as though a previous guest had broken it & just slotted it back. As we were on the ground floor, for safety reasons we were offered the room next door number 19. We removed our items from 20 & put them in 19, when we noticed there were no bath towels so my husband had too go to reception again. When we went for our evening meal the wine I wanted was out of stock & the chef refused too cook the steak my husband ordered as he said it wasn’t a good enough steak, so my husband had too choose another meal. It would be nice if you supplied biscuits & hot chocolate in the guest rooms.

The hotel itself was really run down and tired, lots of temporary fixes in place. I wanted to go somewhere with swimming facilities but the health club/spa was tired and extremely dated. Breakfast was poor with certain items not there (black pudding and hash browns) and the pasty selection was poor. For the amount I paid for the room I could have selected a much nicer bed and breakfast and wish I had

Room good with no problems. No restaurant open the day I stayed. This could have been advised when I booked but was not mentioned. Barman produce a very dry burger with some limp lettuce. Practically inedible but not cheap.

In desperate need of a major overhaul

Stay here recently as we were attending a wedding at the hotel. Our room was clean but very dull and drab and I almost kicked myself out on the soap dish which was the same colour as the wall at eye height in the shower. There was horrible sewer smell all throughout the hotel and the carports in the restaurant were all held down by tape. The price of drinks was astronomical. Plus side was breakfast was very good and the staff very friendly. Would I stay here again? No

Satisfactory We moved from a very good standard room (20) to a superior room (Westminster) where we found the net curtain torn the curtain hanging off the W.C. cistern required heavy pump priming to flush a couple of ceiling lights were out and in the adjacent room (plant or machine) had a constant annoying knocking sound throughout the day and the night. I did report it to the reception

The stay was poor. The hotel is nothing at all like it looks on the website - I'd go as far as saying that the website is misleading. One of the 2 bedrooms we had was unacceptably dirty. There was a wedding being held at the hotel with a disco until 0100 hrs. It was no use at all being told this on arrival. The fabric of teh hotel is poor but the team were helpful, polite and engaging.

We booked our room at the Mercure over a year ago. My husband and I were spending our wedding night there, so I communicated in length with the bookings team about the specific four poster room I wanted, and paid in advance to ensure everything was perfect. Unfortunately, on check in, the hotel had taken a booking for a wedding in the hotel, and given the bride and groom OUR ROOM! They then downgraded us to a STANDARD DOUBLE which was not much better than a Travelodge! At no point did the hotel contact us to let us know our specified room was no longer available, and give us the option to book elsewhere, nor did they tell us on check in. Did they expect us not to notice?! The website boasts Spa and Leisure Facilities - this is no more than a LEISURE CENTRE, and whilst the staff there were kind and helpful, it was not the relaxing spa break my new husband and I had planned, with kids having swimming lessons and the stench of an over chlorinated pool. Finally, after our spa treatments, we headed to the bar for some lunch. We were shunted to one side as the wedding party had already started to arrive, and ordered our lunch. The server offered us condiments, and I choose ketchup to accompany my chips. Before the server returned, our lunches had arrived... with crisps. THE FRYER IS BROKEN! Our stay at The Bewdley was DISAPPOINTING and RUINED OUR WEDDING NIGHT. I would urge you NOT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY.

We didn’t have a very good stay at all when we first got their we had one room and it was terrible we walked in their and I was a terrible smell all the wallpaper was coming off the walls it was really dated so I went down to reception and they changed our room and that wasn’t much better the rooms were very dated and the beds were very uncomfortable it was very noisy with people banging though the night we didn’t have no sleep and neather did my 9 month baby I travelled 3 hours to get their and was very disappointed when I phone to book they said that it was lovely modern rooms and it was nothing like they said the swimming pool was dirty nothing like we were told it was like from the manger very disappointed We payed a lot of money to stay their for to nights and I am very disappointed I would appreciate if if you would do something about it please
