The hotel is still living in the 70's, everything is worn and run down. My room wasn't ready on arrival even though it was after 2pm, there was no platinum member upgrade available - I was handed a bottle of water and a packet of maltese's as consolation. The hotel was host to a drunken rock party described as Bewdley Music festival in the evening with loud music throughout the hotel, which I discovered on my return for a much needed sleep as I had an early start on Sunday morning. Other guests had checked out in protest earlier in the day as I discovered, having to listen to the protest while I waited to check in. The bedroom was old and worn, the tv did not work properly (luckily I made only passing use), the bed was hard and the pillows cheap uncomfortable foam. On Sunday morning breakfast was put out late and incomplete, and was a disgrace. Very limited self service selection (no fresh fruit and many other things missing), supermarket low quality bread to toast, appealing coffee and concentrated orange juice (both undrinkable). The staff did their best to put on a brave face but it was terrible. My daughter and family stayed in the nearby Kidderminster premier Inn and had a MUCH better experience. I use Accor hotels regularly because they usually guarantee a reasonable standard of comfort and cleanliness for an ok price but this hotel is a very big exception

The hotel is very tired, dirty and the bathroom grubby and very shabby. The bathroom flooded every time you had a shower. In desperate need of an upgrade. This is not the usual standard for a mercure hotel.

Firstly if you are going to send out emails for customer satisfaction emails, you could at least get the customers name correct I am not Craig L. I am Graeme c. Manager made a racist comment to me on check out with one of the cleaning staff present Took me four phone calls to get a invoice of stay and had to pay out my own pocket because the printer wasn't working and the ineptness off the manager on duty on my checkout. I phoned 3 times on the Friday and once on the Monday until the final sent invoice

Poor quality room, noisy rooms, noisy events on in hotel. breakfast was very poor quality for the price and with over cooked items , no serving spoons and staff run off their feet on first day and then late serving of breakfast on second day. We were late for the start of our event because breakfast was Late coming out. Wet towels were folded up and left on our bed , and we couldn’t get food between 9pm and 11pmon the Friday. As bar food was finished st 9 pm we were told we couldn’t get room service until after 11pm.

Weird hotel. Room was clean but maintenance was poor. The room showed very visible signs of there having been a water leak from upstairs in the past. Staff were not very visible. Front desk was often not manned. We walked into the Restaurant and there was no staff in the bar or restaurant area for a couple of minutes.

Booked in for one night at the Mercure Bewdley. Although we expected our room to be ready at 2:00pm on arrival, when we turned up at 4:15pm we were informed that it wasn't quite ready. This was as a result of a number of staff calling in sick that day. However we were offered a couple of complimentary drinks while we waited. We also received an acceptable reduction on the room rate for the night. Our room was a bit tired but ok. The 4-poster bed was extremely comfortable and resulted in a good night sleep. The only meal we had was Breakfast which we really enjoyed. My wife has Coeliac Disease so cannot have any Gluten in her diet. This was explained to the waitresses and they ensured that all the food my wife wanted was gluten free and cooked separately to avoid cross contamination. Her words to me were, "it's so nice to eat a normal breakfast". You would be surprised at the number of hotels that can't guarantee gluten free food. So we'll done Mercure Bewdley The Heath

disappointed that the fact that there was a lack of accessible access to the hotel. No lift and major steps the main entrance, means this not a very accessible building. The receptionist was very helpful and gave us a room on the ground floor. We arrived back to the room on the second day at 4pm to find the room had not been serviced

Staff were very good - helpful and polite. The room was well equipped and very clean and comfortable. Sadly, the dinner was awful. Broccoli soup with no broccoli in it, chicken breast in a pool of hot water with vegetables floating around and no crispy greens. £22 limit meant that it would cost a lot more to have a dessert, so I didn't, but did have coffee and that was good. It should be made clear what the limit is: I had to ask, and it was not possible to have more than a main course without exceeding the budget.

Much less than average. A disabled access room was booked but access from the disabled parking bay to the hotel was a disgrace. Ramp too steep door not wide enough. Etc etc. No info in room. Everything in the hotel looked very tired and worn. Sports facilities too far from hotel building. Not made clear on web site. I asked at reception to speak to a manager. No manager ever appeared or contacted me. I could go on and on but ........

« Nice break, but some tweaks needed. Could be a really nice hotel if more effort put in »

Staff friendly and welcoming. Hotel shoddy in places (taps dated, wallpaper coming away), just generally needed a bit of work, some of which wouldn't take too much effort. Hotel very quiet which didn't make for an amazing atmosphere, and bar deserted/unmanned so we couldn't even get served a drink on a good few occasions. No one there to greet us for both mornings at breakfast so we had to go searching for someone. We were shivering with the cold for the two evenings we ate with you. Same CD was playing for over 48 hours until it drove us so insane we asked for it to be changed. Drinks expensive, draught beer was off for one of the evenings. On the plus side, food was very good and the leisure facilities were good.

« A little dated and cold »

The areas that we were exposed to including the room was a little dated and in parts in need of TLC. Everything seemed clean but just tired. The breakfast was a little limited and not what I would expect from a hotel of this star rating and from this hotel group. The bar and restaurant areas were cold in temperature and the food was ok but again not the standard of the prices being charged!

Cot beds for our 1 year old twins were dirty, smelly, and mouldy. The sheets were stained and damp. The whole room was full of dust, damp and overall the whole experience was horrendous.

« Recommended for a short stay. »

Welcoming and friendly staff at reception. Room was a decent size and clean. Furniture was a little dated but seem to suit the old building well. I had a really good sleep as the bed was very comfortable and hotel was nice and quiet. Bathroom a good size, clean and the shower was hot and had good pressure. Would stay here again if I stayed in Bewdley.

Great hotel, you really need a car but Taxis are reasonable around the area. The Hotel has I think just been taken over by Mercure I would imagine they will update it in the near future.

« Only a one night stay but the staff made it a pleasant evening »

We needed somewhere to stop on a long journey back from Wales. There were not many guests in the hotel, it being a Sunday night but the staff, Danni in particular made it a nice evening. We ate in th3 bar and they made up a nice table especially for us. The food was very good. Unfortunately, the bedrooms seem very tired, the decoration old, and in poor condition, the bathrooms looking like something from the 80’s. Amazingly the demister bathroom mirror worked! If room 16 is typical of the bedrooms then they need updating urgently.
