« You organised an enjoyable wedding event for my brother. »

Staff friendly and helpful, but needed some prompting in some areas, such as bringing water to tables and taking drink orders. Decor in our bedroom rather tired. Smelt as if it needed a good clean. Wifi access very tortuous. Breakfast and Bar food pretty good. Food for event not so impressive - Pak choi and root vegetables not great options. Event Room, decorstions and lit floor etc, were lovely.

The stay was ok with little or no interaction with staff as when we left there was no one at the reception. The room was disappointing in a few areas- Wallpaper was showing damp marks or water marks opposite the bed Nespresso machine was out of order Decor upkeep was the main issue really considering the amount spent on booking the room £159. The quality of the room did not reflect the price.

« Below expectations and not in keeping with a 4 star hotel »

Firstly the staff were excellent, well mannered, helpful and professional. However, the rest of the stay left a lot to be desired. The hotel room showed signs of great strain (peeling wall paper, water stains down the walls), gym facilities closed at 6.15pm, dining restricted to the bar area only due to a coach party (this was okay) but sat on the patio area in amongst lots of weeds growing through the slabs (surely this can be cleaned up), unable to consume any lager from the pumps as the cellar overheated due to the weather and not drinkable (I thought this was a wind up) and as a result stung with expensive bottles of beer and water. Overall very disappointing and I believe worthy of a refund (I am Accor club member).

Things started going wrong right at the beginning. I waited for 10 minutes at the desk waiting for somebody to appear so I could check in. There was nobody in the bar area. It was only when I caught somebody walking past the main entrance that I could actually check in. No bell, or phone to get attention. No notice or anything. There were numerous issues in the restaurant. This was a 3 night stay. I didn't use the restaurant on the first evening. But breakfast the first time was, shall we say, late. I was waiting for over half an hour for the cooked food that I had to leave and go to my meeting. The server (Susan) said that the breakfast would be knocked off my bill (it wasn't). And then there was the issue of no ice. In the restaurant in the evening there was no ice. I asked for a sparkling mineral water. And it was luke warm. Obviously not kept in a fridge, so I asked for ice only to be told that there wasn't any available. OK, I can understand that there are special ice machines, but just because one is switched off doesn't mean you can't make ice. Either you should have stocked up before hand and kept some in the freezer, or just made some in the freezer. It's not rocket science. Still with the restaurant, that Thai Prawn "thing"... I've had larger portions as starters. Just a small portion of rice and a couple of prawns in a sauce? Is that really worth the price attributed to it? No, I don't think so. I normally choose Mercure for the single reason that you have Veggie sausages for breakfast. Thats it. No other reason. But after this last experience, I'm going to be switching to the Stourport Manor.

Awful. Room quality and bathroom not as good as a premier inn. Very tatty furniture, grubby grout in the bathroom. Dinner was overpriced for the very poor quality, wild mushrooms certainly weren't, red Thai curry was sloppy, insipid apart from being chilli hot and the jasmine rice was more like uncle bens boil in the bag. My colleague had a mountain of sloppy tasteless tortellini. At breakfast coffee was so weak it looked like tea, tasteless. Rectangular plates for hot food were mostly dirty and the over steamy sweaty food warmers contained doughy fried bread that looked awful. I did sample a rubberized fried egg and the mushrooms were ok. Sorry but really not the 4 star I was expecting. I stayed there Monday evening and am now following that with 3 nights at the premier inn in Worcester, far cleaner, less tatty and breakfast is a very high standard here.

We enjoyed our stay, the room was spacious although in need of updating. Had a great time in the pool, my 2 year old daughter loved the baby pool, it was so warm. Staff we very friendly.

Our party broke up early when unable to gather together after dinner (reference Retired Fire Officer's Dinner Party booked by Mr Ron Morris). This spoilt our reunion also the same menu choice was offered as in 2017.

Very good, the only thing that let it down was the dining. We were with our 11 year old Godson and struggling to find something he would eat on the main menu and even though we explained this to the waiting staff they did not offer the children's menu. It was only on the second night that we found out there was a children's menu. On the children's menu it states that nibbles would be given whilst we waited. We waited an hour for our food and during that time nothing was offered.

My boys and I had our first holiday away, and our first dinner we were served my Charlotte, she was awesome, and my boys keep talking about her! Everything was great apart from being charged £40 ish more for the Saturday night. The website borked and only booked for one night. I was told it was about £5 more for the Saturday night, but I was charged £135. This was on fri night around 1845, I’m sure the security cameras would corroborate, alas no notes were left on my booking. Not sure this gets read, they seldom ever do!

The rooms looked tired. Even after asking there was a shortage of tea/coffee/sugar and milk for the rooms. Chips in bathroom sink and large chip on bath. Menu very limited.

Had dinner in the restaurant. Advised on arrival to book, eat early or face a queue. Went I wnet their were half a dozen already in and just two more arrives whilst I was eating. Ordered fish and chips and the fish was under cooked. Chef sent a messge it was the flour was an unusual type and it was cooked. Waitress sent to check hereslf and agreed with me it was not cooked. As a grey aging nothener I know when fish is not cooked and the hotel needs a new Chef.

This was a business stay & was fine for just a couple of nights. The rooms are a little tired & the bathroom cold - no heating. As mentioned by others, drinks here are pricey, but you're not far from the town. Restaurant & bar food was good. I have to say, this hotel gets by thanks to the staff - who are so helpful & friendly, particularly on reception. Special mention to Charlotte J, in the restaurant, who was brilliant - she copied well with a large group of potentially tricky customers.
