« Large group, early breakfast »

On 7 January, there was a group of nearly 50 of us who arrived rather unexpectedly and had to depart rather early in the morning (about 0330). On arrival the staff, at the front desk and bar/restraunt, were fantastic despite being a little overwhelmed. The hotel staff decided to open up breakfast early for all of us, given the terrible departure time and long day ahead. With an extraordinarily long travel day ahead, that small act of kindness made a tremendous difference and the entire crew really appreciated it and would like to say thank you!

Great, clean room. Only two coffee pods for machine :(. Very welcoming staff. Great view, although bathroom door would not shut properly and a little mouldy in shower area. Overall good nights stay will definetly be back.

« Overnight stay at Mercure Hotel, Ayr, Scotland »

We had a lovely overnight stay at this hotel. On arrival reception were very pleasant and helpful. Our room on the 5th floor was immaculate and the view towards the seafront was outstanding. We used the leisure facilities and enjoyed the pool, the sauna and the jacuzzi was a treat. The bar staff were also very helpful and pleasant. Our breakfast next morning had a varied choice of food which was all piping hot and delicious. I would recommend a stay at this hotel to anyone

« Very pleasant overnight stay »

My daughter and I extremely enjoyed our overnight stay at the Mercure Hotel, Ayr, our room on the 5th floor was very comfortable and we enjoyed a superb view down towards the seafront. We used the leisure centre which we both enjoyed. We also enjoyed a lovely breakfast next morning with lots of choices and all very tasty. We always have a great time at this particular hotel. Reception are always helpful as are all staff. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

What can I say a peasant check in, room was excellent, clean, tidy, warm and with amazing views. Bar area was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Enjoyed a nice wee swim with my grandson. the check out staff were very helpful

We had a lovely stay although the steak we had for dinner had to be returned as it was not cooked properly it was disappointing & was shocked at the price for a glass of wine surely if you served drinks cheaper more people would sit in your bar the staff are friendly

« Noisy and in need of an upgrade »

I was extremely disappointed with my stay. The room was dirty and in need of an upgrade desperately. We were in a room right next to the entrance to the hallway so we’re kept awake all night by loud guests running back and forward and feel staff were very unfriendly. I contacted accorhotels directly to make a complaint 4 days ago and have still had no feedback so I’m not satisfied with my experience at all.

Tired hotel. Poor food choices and presentation not up to quality I have experienced at other Accor Hotels breakfasts were cold / look warm and evening menu was unimaginative Room decoration tired. Very disappointed .

« RETURN VISIT »

Having stayed in the Hotel on many occasions before being the Mercure, was pleasantly surprised by the upgrades and changes made to the Property. A very conveniently located hotel, benefiting from a large number of local shops and Restaurants. Adequate parking controlled and good value as a resident. Despite being located next to Smiths Sports Bar the noise even on a Party Weekend was not excessive. Smiths is also a great venue for a meal and drinks while watching Football, especially my passion. The staff were very Professional and Helpful, maybe a little short staffed in the bar during my visit. Will stay again when next in Ayr.

« Room fine breakfast not so good »

Check in was efficient and pleasant, our room was fine everything that we needed, beds very comfortable, the view in the morning from the fifth floor was stunning. We arrived for breakfast at 8.40am but had to wait for nearly ten minutes at the desk to be seated so sat down ourselves, went up to the buffet which was nothing more more than a few scraps left on the server, a member of staff informed us that we were rather late and service stopped at 9.am she brought the chef out who said he would cook fresh food but I can assure you it wasn’t very good. Check out was again efficient and pleasant.
