We were very impressed with the room upgrade and hope this happens again lol. The room was amazing, the view was stunning, staff were very welcoming and friendly and dinner was lovely. The wine was excellent and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

« Great overnight stay »

We had a lovely overnight stay. Our room was upgraded and it was a totally wonderful experience. We had chilled wine brought to our room and enjoyed a very tasty breakfast in the morning. The bed was very comfortable and we had a great sleep. We also enjoyed a Sunday morning spell in the leisure centre using the pool, sauna, stream room etc. It was my daughters 50th and she enjoyed everything so much

« Pleasant stay. »

Stayed for one night wjth boyfriend when I got an itison voucher. Hotel clean, good location, a bit outdated. Spa was ok, they had the usual. Couldn't see any water machines and changing room small (only two showers and when we where there and swimming lessons was on) dinner was tasty and service ok. Drink prices good. Overall good value for money would stay again.

« Friendly staff, hotel has seen better days »

The staff were very friendly but the hotel was rather tired. Bad carpets, shabby furniture, the shower was just a trickle. The ironing board in the room was stained and yellow. Overall the room was clean enough - bed was comfy and clean - but the corridor leading to my room smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. The door handle to my room felt like it was going to come off whenever I touched it and the toilet roll holder was the same. The ladies toilets behind the bar downstairs were amongst the worst toilets I've ever been in. There wasn't one cubicle that was fit to use, disgusting and clearly not checked on a regular basis.

« Disappointing »

We were created by a rather frustrated and unhappy receptionist. Room was nice then we headed to the spa which was very disappointing and very dirty. Jacuzzi was so hot and uncomfortable straight in and back out. When we went for our evening meal the dining room was pretty quiet yet we have chase our (cold) starters up after 40 min wait Think Mail meal had been ready and waiting as it was very dry and not edible all rather disappointing. To top it off we had late check out and the maid tried on three occasions to clean the room.

« Poor quality rooms and service »

Stayed here for over 3 weeks as part of an insurance claim. Rooms are basic and in dire need of updating, and the bed/pillows are hard and uncomfortable to the point we had to ask for softer pillows. Few times only one bath sheet was left for us both to use so had to keep asking reception or leaving notes for cleaners for two. Also hospitality tray rarely replenished. Also freeview TV channels needed retuning and updating but this was never done. Breakfast time was appalling, tables not cleared, food not refilled and having to wait for this to be done. Often no staff free at entrance to dining room so anyone could walk in. In particular one young boy just seemed to wander aimlessly about past dirty plate filled tables seemingly avoiding eye contact with unhappy customers who needed something. This by far was the worst part of our stay. Often my partner and I skipped breakfast due to this. Reception staff however were excellent, especially the red headed girl with glasses was a god send to this hotel and did her utter most to help anyway she could. Gym staff also pleasent. Will not be staying here again by choice.

Was surprised to be upgraded to a privileged room. Lovely big room. Very central location to town center and 5 minute walk to the beach, beautiful view of the coast with room at front of hotel

« Clean but could be better »

Amenities and bar were great. Customer service is great. Bathroom felt musty, almost like it wasnt cleaned. Bed could be a true king instead of a split twin. Pillows were nice. Breakfast was very good.

« Short staffed but nice weekend »

We had a two night trip to the mercure Ayr where we had a nice room with two twin beds put together which made a nice big bed. The hotel itself was very nice and the food at breakfast and dinner was lovely. What let us down on this trip was the lack of staff on over the weekend and the noise of the neighbours. On the Friday afternoon into evening we had to wait over 20 minutes for a barman to arrive and serve us drinks and over 25 minutes (after asking twice) for a hairdryer which should have been provided in the room. The neighbours we had both days were quite noisy which meant we had a lack of sleep.

Room stale smell. Tiles broken in shower and replaced with different style. Tiles broken next to toilet. Water lying on floor tiles. Bad view onto car park. Woken with noise from pub next door. We had a late check out but decided to leave after breakfast at 8.30am. Food was good.

All staff where lovely however 1 Checklist for chamber staff to nsure they put everything in the room. 2.training for serving staff so they know how to properly serve meals Absolutely nothing that impacted on our stay just a wee bit of training .

Everything was going smoothly, unpacked and discovered that we didn`t have towels. As we were passing reception we told the receptionist about the missing towels. She told us, in a manner insinuating that we were stupid, they`re in the drawer under the tv. On our return to the room, we looked in the drawer......nothing there! Another visit to reception, this time the towels arrived. NB. Maybe a non-slip mat for the bath, "slippy"when showering.
