« We had a nice time in Ayr and the hotel was adequate for our requirements »

We enjoyed our stay, the hotel is situated in the centre between the town and beach, so was handy for getting around.

« Tired and dated »

The building and facilities are tired and dated and could do with some modernisation. Aside from that the hotel appeared to be clean and the staff were very friendly. If it wasn't for the staff I would have given a lower score.

« Bed for two nights »

Very comfortable bed. Room acceptable but in serious need of refurbishment. Carpet was threadbare. Bathroom again acceptable but needing revamped. Could have done with more coffees and milks with perhaps some biscuits. Staff were great and room service very good. Pool etc was enjoyable but again in need of refurbishment. Also first hotel I have ever stayed in where I had to pay for parking . Not enough parking spaces either.

I have regularly stayed in this hotel and always been brilliant never had a fault until my most recent stay .. I had the rudest staff ever and just didn't feel very welcome atall infact it was that bad my partner booked another hotel and I joined him while my friend used the room we had booked with yous

« I found the room furnishings tired and in need of attention, also simple housekeeping standards need attention to detail »

On the plus side I slept well, the breakfast was value for money, you had Gluten Free bread. I found some of the furnishings tired and simple housekeeping things like white feathers protruding from all brown scatter cushions on the foyer seats, demonstrated a lack of attention to detail. I am an ex Ships Purser on Passenger Liners, ex-hotel House Manager and the ex Director of Tourism for the area

« Worth the voucher price. »

We purchased a voucher for a two night trip, we arrived and the room was pleasant and we unpacked and left to explore the local area. On returning to the hotel late at night we discovered that the bathroom door did not clip shut never mind lock, however as it was so late and we had already unpacked we did not see the point in complaining or changing room as we knew we would be out all day the following day too. On check out we mentioned this to the reception staff in order for them to inform maintence, and she refunded the premium we had paid for the Privilege room which was appreciated.

My first room smelled of smoke. The previous guest had obviously been smoking as there were butts outside the window. I asked to change and was given another room no problem.

Staff all very helpful . Room was ideal for 2 adults and 2 children was a privilege room . However buffet breakfast is still a let down . Been going to this hotel for past 10 years and still needs improving . Rubbery eggs bacon crispy fat and meal pink and tastes of cheep quality . Dishes refilled but changed and looks dried up and off putting . My grandson has an apple and no basket of fruit when asked only had oranges so had to run to a local shop . Wouldn’t recommend paying for breakfast which is a pity .. However at night my grandson was delighted with a pizza he ordered said it was delicious . Wasn’t very inspired with the choice of menu . Was better when their was a three course choice got set price . I was with my mother who is 87 and menu had little choice that she could eat . So our experience and only reason we go back is purely location pool and very courtius staff

Whilst the general areas are updated, the rooms are dated and require attention. Hole in ceiling, furniture marked, generally tired looking. The Spa?? Is not a spa it is more like a public swimming pool terrible changing facilities and again tired. If I hadn’t had to stay in central Ayr I would have chosen a different hotel.

We enjoyed our stay your location is fantastic. The Hotel is surely due to be Refurbished? Carpets and furnishings pretty tatty. Our accessible room was jaded and the bathroom pretty ghastly. The bottom of the door was peeling off in layers! Neither nice or hygienic. Getting hot water to shower and basin took an age. Repairs needed to loo seat and loo roll holder which I reported to reception. That said your friendly, welcoming staff in every department made up for the overdue refurb. Helpful and always smiling you have a great team who made us feel at home and because of them and your location, we will stay again. Good breakfast and loved the Tatty Scones!!

We have stayed at this hotel 8 times now, we usually buy the deal online for a 2 night stay, dinner on the first night, breakfast both mornings and a bottle of wine. We have always enjoyed our stay but unfortunately this time it wasn’t our usual experience. On arrival we were 2 hours early so we left our bags and said we would come back at the check in time, we came back 30 minutes after the check in opened to be told our room wasn’t ready yet. The dinner on the first night and breakfast both mornings wern’t as nice as usual. For dinner on the first night we got told there was a lot of items unavailable so my mum went with the fish, chips and mushy peas. Once the dinner arrived to the table the waiter told us there was no peas(we would have expected to be told this in advance instead of when the dinner was put on the table so she could have received something else with it). The breakfast both mornings wasn’t as nice as usual, although it is help yourself it tasted like they items were lying out for ages. When attending the spa the jacuzzi was also not working. We were rather disappointed with our stay this time.

Enjoyed my stay, however did not request a disabled room with a seat at the shower. Felt the wet floor did not drain properly and this left a H & S issue when going to the toilet late at night/during the night. Apart from this thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Bed was amazing had a great sleep and had a beautiful breakfast. Staff very friendly and really accommodating.
