I found the room unacceptable, the carpet was very dirty and completely threadbare, although is was a basic room, there should be a standard that the hotel should meet, the "double room" was small, where the bed was against a wall therefore had to climb over my partner to get out of the bed, the rest of the hotel looked acceptable and the service and breakfast was good, but was sadly let down by the room

This hotel was excellent.the staff are so helpful and friendly nothing is a bother and everyone of them so polite.our room was ideal for two adults and had everything you need.what can I say about the bed WOW,I suffer from arthritis and fibromyalgia and find it difficult to sleep and get comfortable,wish I could have took the bed home with me it was enormous.we didn't have dinner at the hotel but after we have a great breakfast we both said we wished we had dinner there.i will definitely be back to this hotel and anyone I know that's going to ayr looking for a hotel I will definitely recommend the mercure ,thanks for a great night away.

We didn't have a top floor room as requested.Staff were helpful but in the restaurant the waitress although very helpful had to check many times about the gluten free food options as we requestedon our booking.

stayed in this hotel at the we first impression was the but ends that were lying at the bottom of the steps at the entrance the reception area was very nice we were on the 6 floor the room was quite big but really needing a big update and a deep clean windows round the white frame very dirty and cobwebs on ceilings the toilet panel lamanated effect was all peeling as was some of the other part in the toilet flush had to be pushed 3/4 times before working we paid £300 for 3 night stay room only definately not worth this will not be going back

Room my room was not cleaned properly table dusted only twice during my stay Bathroom rotten work surface. Toilet roll holder very loose grime and bacteria building up under the soap holder by the bath Was not supplied bar of soap until 3rd day before leaving. Had to ask for shower jel and shampoo 4th day in. . Room generally in poor condition

Hotel is minutes from the high street and the sea front with parking to the rear. Pleasant staff, comfortable bed, food cooked and we'll presented however hotel is tired and in need of an update. Reception,Bar and brassierey are brightened up with coloured prints and cushions by local artist. Spa area also badly in need of update

Poor by Accor standards, only the staff and their professional attitude convinced us to stay our second night. Changed our allocated room as the safe was not working, this was not a big deal but the staff had no issue at all with offering us another room, The second room was in a very poor state of repair, stains on carpet, artex peeling from ceiling, bathroom poor and in general a very poor standard of room
