Stayed for a week on a business trip. No issues presented themselves, everything was as it should be. Spacious room, comfortable bed, hot shower, a stocked bar and pleasant staff.

Hotel bedroom very tired looking, lacked amenities

On arrival staff could not be more helpful, on entering our bedroom visually disappointed, room very tired looking, only two coat hangers available, very little storage space I.e drawers. Bathroom shower limited pressure, only one towel & one hand towel, ( this was a double room booked) no tissues, inn general needed upgraded. Breakfast, lacked choice only two pieces of fresh fruit available rest dried, hot cooked breakfast was ok but had to wait some time on toast ( may have been better if Another high efficient toaster was available) Facilities for excise ie gym (equipment for gym it needed upgraded, would benefit from hand sanitiser after using apparatus) swimming pool, sauna& jacuzzi enjoyed. One member of staff in the dinning room lacked personal skills ie, her demeanour she not welcoming, showed little warmth no smiles, everything seemed to be an effort was asked of an order of porridge , her response unenthusiastic. House maids could not falter they very approachable & accommodating, facial expressions showing pleasure welcoming.

I have used this hotel for the last ten years or so as I attend an event in Ayr each June. I have to say the quality and standards appear to be going down hill and the rooms are quite worn and in need of refurbishment. On arrival outside our room this time there was a bucket catching dripping water from the sealing! On entering the room we found plaster hanging from areas of the sealing,stains on the carpet, the toilet seat was broken and the light fitting at the side of the bed was missing with tape around the fitting. We were moved to a second room which was much better but still had a toilet roll holder hanging from the wall and the sink blocked up every time it was used. When we checked out of the hotel the only comment from the staff was " so you just owe £6 for the parking" Overall we were disappointed with the stay and leaves me contemplating looking for an alternative hotel next year.

Overall a good experience. Staff were very helpful, room was clean and comfy although the bathroom was a bit dated, it was a wee bit like the bathrooms in hospitals. We enjoyed breakfast both mornings of our stay and also the evening meal on our first night. Hotel is very central.

It was ok this time. A rear room for the first time but will assume a front was unavailable although hotel didn't seem that busy. An item of food requested was unavailable. Wine is to expensive which generally dictates that we eat out on our second night.

Tired and nor very clean

This hotel despite its facilities is in desperate need of modernising. Check in was slow, room was tired and not clean. We found a half used shower gel dispenser in the shower. Tv didn’t work well and single glazing didn’t keep our noise from the beautiful car park we overlooked. Sad to see such a potentially great hotel so bad.

Okay but a bit run down in certain areas.

Staff were helpful, efficient and friendly. Location excellent. Room a bit tired looking and in need of some cosmetic maintenance. Very disappointed with the leisure facilities. The pool and steam room were fine but the surrounding areas were in need of repair. The changing areas were awful. Broken tiles, formica pealing off surfaces. The worst I've been to.

Although weather rained for two days it didn't dampen our visit. We come every year for our elderly mums birthday. She likes the hotel location as near to shops. Food is always good and staff very friendly. She in wheel chair so needs her daughters to be with her We had hoped that it would be refurbished for visit but told when booking it's not starting till July this year. Just hope mum will still be with us for her 84th birthday next year for a return visit

Would not even put my dog in that hotel ! It was sooo dated rooms where disgusting. Damaged and shoddy furniture , painting was so badly needing a complete revamp. Bathroom damaged disgusting, bed and bedding so old and over used . Hallway to room can’t put into words how bad that was , damp smelly so depressing. Reception again just so in need of a huge revamp, even exterior broken tiles on stairs. We asked for a upgrade but that was just a bigger mess . Hence we DID NOT STAY , we will be putting a official complaint to yourself and virgin holidays as my son got this as a W/E holiday Christmas gift For me and my partner! What a DUMP .
