« Nice time but the spa could be much better. »

We were advised the last entry to the spa was 6.45pm we went around 6.40pm, once we got in we had to ask about the jacuzzi as there was a chair infront of it blocking it off. It was turned off and being cleaned out so we couldn't use it. We did receive an apology but we were looking forward to using it. Also the changing rooms are to be desired. One of the showers wasn't working and the other sprayed out all over the floor. The lockers were a nightmare none took our £1 coins (we found out the next morning you need a token or an old £1) As much as the changing rooms are clean they really look dirty and old due to all of this. Panels of wood missing in the cubicle as you go in the main door. It's ashame as the rest of the hotel is really nice. Also not having towels down there. We had to go back up to the room for our towels that we had to use for a shower in the morning. (Although we managed to get more towels to go to the pool again in the morning from reception) Also no drinking water available in the pool/spa area only in the gym area which was at the other end. However we did enjoy or stay, the evening meal was lovely. The staff were friendly especially the girl who works on reception she was there when we arrived, she was extremely cheery and helpful that even though our room wasn't ready she handled it well and gave us a drink voucher for the trouble.

Room was very dated, cracks in ceiling and TV not working. Had to phone reception for iron and ironing board. Dinner service was great although drinks very pricey. Breakfast was very slow and not very nice. Only one item on plate not worth the £15.

« Perfect for our Purpose »

Reception staff and restaurant staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The bedroom was comfortable and clean. The hotel in Ayr is central; very near shops, bus station and train station. The self service breakfast was adequate. The dinner menu was extensive, but not our sort of food, so disappointing.

I ask for chanpane glass in room when we arrived as it was a golden wedding anniversary, not there had to phone down. Other than that staff was very friendly service was great ☺

The hotel is very old and could be doing with major refurbishing but the staff were so friendly and accomadating it made up for it. The rooms were spotlessly clean but the furniture was very tired.

Every member of staff was excellent, housekeeping, reception, gym, restaurant & bar, all extremely helpful & kind, you should be very proud of them. We used the gym, pool, restaurant & bar. It is in an excellent location, beautiful view.

evening meal was good and the breakfast was satisfactory although there was no porridge(which was on the menu) also had to wait for replenishment of food at counters(eggs,bacon,sausages and tattie scones.no black pudding).Concerning the room badly in need of refurbishment and bathroom expelaire did not work.

Greeted at reception by a lovely lady,made to feel welcome and given info re meal times and pool/fitness opening hours. Dinner was delicious in a very stylish and comfortable restaurant. Room was large,with sea view and spotless. Been here many times with family and friends.

The room was not very clean and rather small, for the quality of product I t was a really expensive nights sleep. The staff were great but the overall product was sub par especially looking at other hotels/bnb in the area.

« Poor quality and tired looking room, staff were nice though »

Uncomfortable bed, small room, poor breakfast, food was cold despite getting to breakfast at about 8.15 am, nowhere. We did appreciate the walk-in shower, which had been set up for a disabled person, but there was no shelving for shampoos etc and the toilet handle was faulty.
