Staff were absolutely delightful and public areas very good. The bathroom was spotless and the bedding very clean but the carpet was threadbare and very stained which was very offputting

Friendly staff, room was very nice. Great size. As for the tea, coffee and sugars etc provided..maybe some more would have done..and a normal every day tea bag would have been ideal too. Other than that really enjoyed our stay.

« Another great stay »

Booked a 2 night deal including breakfast and dinner one the first evening. Evening dinner menu quite extensive, we opted for the 3 course set menu which is included in the budget allocated for the deal. Food very enjoyable and lovely presentation. We would not hesitate in booking this deal again.

« Regular visitor »

I booked our party of 4 many weeks before our arrival date, I requested 2 sea facing rooms. We arrived at the hotel early and the rooms were not ready which was understandable so the hotel stored our bags while we went horse racing. On our return at approximately 16:30 hrs one room was still not ready. When =we eventually got the rooms they were both rear facing, not what we wanted but accepted it. We have been coming to this hotel for about 20 years and have enjoyed our visits but if it wasn't for the staff I would probably look elsewhere but all the staff are friendly and helpful and the location is excellent. I would say that the toilets for the Bar and Restaurant are in dire need of refurbishment.

« great location, Staff welcoming and helpful, basic but nice room, foods was ok, drink rather expensive. »

arrived to meet a lovely lady on reception who was very helpful. Had a look around and found the bar and seating area nice and quite comfortable. The room was very basic and needed a refresh, but the bed was very comfortable and the view was fantastic. we had dinner bed and breakfast. dinner was ok, breakfast was good. I would come back to this hotel if I get the same deal we did for 2.

« Great hotel in a great location »

This is our first choice of hotel when in Ayr due to its location, it's a great hotel, however a little rough around the edges. The only real gripe I have is the charge for breakfast, it's excessive to say the least. Other than that we'll definitely stay again but eat elsewhere in the morning.

« Hanging on the telephone. »

Parking was unclear from the website. I canned the hotel to clarify. Called reception for x3 mins; no answer. Rang helpline and they tried to call reception; no answer. The second call was 8 mins and 55 seconds!! Overall advice was "call back tomorrow" which would have been ok had I not been booking for the next day. Very narrow doors for a modern hotel. Quite a few of the mull posts on bedroom doors had been replaced but not painted or painted badly. It made the hotel look like a hostel. The room had an opening window which was closed. The room smelled musty. It was fine after the window had been opened for a few hours. There were some signs of water ingress in one of the corners of the room... not sure if this was new or had been repaired badly. Also, there was mould on the silicone around the windows. There was quite a lot of noise in the hotel; noise caused by people moving around in rooms - not partying/returning home late. Leisure facilities were good.

« Fantastically helpful staff, comfortable rooms, great food »

The staff could not have been more helpful and were happy to do what we asked without making us feel we were being a nuisance. Really friendly, nice people. The rooms were big enough to have room to move in and not feel cramped. The food was lovely

a satisfactory stay, but reception staff don,t seem to know your rewards scheme . I am on silver status , but did not receive a welcome drink . When I mentioned it at check-out, whilst paying for my drinks , the chap stated that he would make sure I get a welcome drink next time !!!!
