« Dreadful! »

This hotel was extremely disappointing to say the least and one of the worst i have ever stayed in for business. Cleanliness was a lot to be desired, tired looking and extremely unappealing. The food was diabolical, as was my drink - i ended up having an upset stomach all night and for the last few days since leaving! The reception staff were friendly which was one saving grace - did we report the state of the hotel to them? No, as looking on face book complaints about this hotel have gone on for the last few years and nothing has been done so what is the point! I've always loved Mercure hotels but this one is truly shocking and has put me off using the brand again!

Was great being able to stay away from Edinburgh and Glasgow being an Aussie touring through Scotland. Good being a single level hotel instead of negotiating lifts/stairs etc. Easy parking, good food.

The stay was great. Room was big and was cleaned every day. Breakfast was great. Enjoyed the pool (although small) and sauna/steam room facilities. Only issue I had was that it's a very creeky hotel but I know there's not a lot that can be done about that

« Nice hotel but a bit dated »

It’s a lovely hotel in a good location for shopping, cinema and activities within Livingston. Also short drive to Edinburgh. However, hotel is a bit dated and would require a modernising real soon. Floor in steam room is very stained and put me off using it... breakfast was lovely, however it was rather dry on our first morning. Dinner was absolutely delicious and I would definately recommend dining in there. Food was scrumptious, and sevice was 5*. Thank you

Have the lights in the corridor to the room were we checking into switched on? Had to use our mobile phones to find the room and had a trip along the way. Other than that everything was clean, service was with a polite smile and would happily return

Room was as expected, comfortable bed, good facilities. Restaurant food was good and reasonably priced with a set meal option available. Ideal for a business trip as Wi-Fi was good.

The room was clean but had a certain used smell about it. My colleague and I dined in your restaurant and the experience was not very good - the traditional Scottish fare that my colleague particularly wanted to sample as part of being 'home' was far from traditional. in addition, service was slow and upon 3 complaints about the soup he was told that it was effectively 'tough'. once we finally got the bill, despite being pretty much the last people in the restaurant, we were forgotten and had to find a staff member to pay ourselves. second night we had bar food and that was altogether a better experience. check out was simple will I return - I suspect I will look for an alternate location

Reception staff pleasant and helpful. Comfortable room and bed. Very good buffet-style breakfast, with big selection. Hotel probably due for refurbishment at some point, as carpeting a little threadbare in places. Found electric convector heating a little difficult to regulate.

It was local to where I had my meeting the following day. The rooms are functional but a little tired and could do with a make over. I was on the ground floor overlooking the court yard but no nets on the windows so everyone can see into the room.
