« Very poor outdated hotel and facilities. »

Reception not very friendly. Room very poor standard and extremely cold. Only one useless electric heater. Breakfast was shocking, the porridge you could sole boots with, the hot items were not and not replenished quickly enough for the guests. The restaurant was NOT busy either. Overall the hotel was very drab and in dire need of redecorating. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone.

« Great shopping weakend »

We had a lovely stay at the Mercure hotel Livingston in a great location for our shopping weekend to the Livingston centre Staff were all very nice and helpful rooms were comfortable and warm a bit tired but considering what we paid l thought it was very good value, would definitely use again. Some other guests were a bit much at breakfast as they were still dressed in there P.Js and there lanauge was a disgrace so we were glad we hadn't booked breakfast for both morning. It wouldn't put me off going again.

« Ok »

The room had wallpaper peeling from walls. Decor was very dated.

« Was ok for a night. »

Room was ok,location was good for shops, only downfall was there was a function on so couldn't really sit in bar, however after I was charged £8.50 for a pint lager and a fresh orange and lemonade I didn't want to sit in bar Long, would of needed a bank loan for drinks.

« Mercure Livingston »

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we had a triple room, which was lovely and clean very comfortable, possibly a little tired in places but good where it mattered. Party night on but as we are early to bed we were not disturbed in any way, so had a good night's sleep.

« A brief but comfortable stay »

The Mercure livingstone is a comfortable and relaxing place to stay . The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, the mattresses are very good . The bar is nice for a glass of wine . The food was nice maybe slightly overpriced as the portions are very small. The hotel is located a very short distance from all the shops and restaurants in livingstone who've is fantastic.

« facilities badly in need of major refurbishment. »

We were extremely dissatisfied with overall experience. Booked and paid for superior room...can't envisage what ordinary rooms must be like!!!

« Good »

Room was cold, beds where good, room was clean. First evening in your restaurant wasn´t so good experience, waiting time was long, we order soft drinks - > we get bottles but no classes, tried to get attention of the waitress was difficult. Not so bad experience, it could be possible that we come again.

« Very friendly staff and good value for the price »

The hotel staff is very helpful and extremly friendly. The hotel itself seems to be aged and would require some renovation. The internet connection is unfortunately quite poor.

« Comfortable »

Friendly staff, lovely food. Rooms could do with a renovation.

« Faulty Towers »

Over the past three months we have stayed at three Mercure Hotels. Perth, Ayr, and Livingston. Livingston being the worst experience over all three nights stay. On arrival we were given access to our room before it had been cleaned. On returning I found a pair of gents trousers hanging in the wardrobe. I had asked for a disabled access room, however I had to struggle with what is called an adapted room. A low bath is not suitable for most disabled people. For the evening meal I asked for King Prawn Cocktail as stated on the menu. What I received was a disgrace... Three large Prawns covering a few prawn tails probably from Farmfoods? and with 3/4 of the glass filled with limp Lettuce. Our order for the main course was mixed up and very late. Breakfast the first morning looked like it had been left out since 06.30 and appeared inedible. I asked for two soft poached eggs, which when finally served were solid. I was informed the chef had forgot.... Yes forgot to take them out the water. Second night evening meal. Same delay in the service to such an extent we eventually cancelled our sweet order and walked out in disgust. At neither of these evenings was the hotel dining area execcessively full. Breakfast on the third day. Everything as before minus cereal. However I saw a girl filling the dispenser at 09.30 ready for the next day. These dispensers are not airtight which explains the stale cereal I had the morning before. I asked for two soft poached eggs again. After another long delay I was presented with to very hard BOILED Eggs!!! I am afraid this was a step to far. That evening we ate out at a local restaurant and enjoyed an excellent meal, with first class service. On return to the hotel we had a conversation with the Deputy Manager Grant Ferguson who was very apologetic and helpful. On the morning of our departure we decided not to risk another disastrous Breakfast and opted to dine at Hearthill Service Station which was at least pleasant. I apologise for such a negative response, however along with ourselves you will probably lose many potential Guests. Because I am now considering writing similar report in Trip Advisor.

« Christmas shopping trip. »

Been coming here for years for our annual Christmas shopping trip, very clean, comfortable and cosy. Excellent value with the Dinner bed and breakfast deal. Dinner was good but very limited menu for Gluten free. Breakfast was Excellent! Staff are all friendly and polite, will book again for next year!
