Stayed for one night on a rainy day in Glasgow. Great big superior room, really comfy bed. Only downfall...no fridge. Breakfast was excellent, especially the tattie scones and the haggis were particular favourites

Reception and breakfast staff lovely, breakfast lovely, room very comfortable and love a bath included in the room - everything very clean. Bath had gaps between wall, which so did not bother me, but read viewers comments on places and think it’s always a petty comment if your stay is great - so just a pointer for any negative feedback before - Hotel was lovely xxx

Efficient check in and room ready even though I arrived early. Rooms are small but no worse than say a Premier Inn so for one night this wasn’t an issue given a very competitive price. Good location just outside of main shops and restaurants therefore a good and quiet night sleep. Good breakfast choices but I imagine it could get a little crowded if the hotel is full given the small restaurant space. Would definitely stay again for the right price.

The rooms were in need of refurbishing, we couldn't have a shower as shower head would not stay up ,we reported it first thing the second morning was told it would be looked at , came back in at 9.30. pm, shower still the same, reported it again ,chap from reception came and tried to fix it, but it fell back down again so had no shower next morning. Rooms were very hot and windows only opened a few inches. Breakfast was not hot.

staff were pleasant and friendly. Hotel decor, both in public areas and individual rooms was very tired, with awkward layouts, bed that was too large for the space available, poor levels of lighting. Hotel lacked any real charm & atmosphere. Breakfast arrangements were limited

Om arriving at the hotel the lobby was nicley presented and the staff very friendly and efficient. Check in was easy and I was in my room not two minutes later. Rol. Was clean and tidy but the furniture was very bulky for the space and made moving around easily a bit tricky. The bathroom could do with an overhaul also - it was clean and the towels fresh but could do with modernising and redecorating. Breakfast in the morning was lovely however - and again all your staff were very friendly and efficient.

This hotel needs updating, its very tired. The room we occupied lacked a fridge which is normal in the room grade we had. The TV could only be watched by sitting on the bed, it could not be seen from the sitting room. Also the room needs a very good clean. Skirting boards covered in dust and grease. Bathroom extraction not working. One day bed not made. No tea bags supplied on another day. All little things which would be covered if the manager or housekeeper checked a number of rooms as a matter of course every day. I suspect that profit comes first and staff on minimum wage. Come on Mercure, get your finger out. Better value at the Ibis Styles in Glasgow. On booking we requested a high floor away from lifts, what did we get? first floor next to lift. Not impressed.

Room 303. Rooms too small. No room to even put up an ironing board. Windows too thin as able to hear all activity outside of room. Decided to eat in hotel and bad decision. Ordered Chicken fillets for starter and Burger for main with wedges. Clearly all frozen food and disappoinobased in price. Really poor experience and would not recommend

the staff were really helpful and professional, whilst being personable, in dealing with me. They offered assistance when requested and dealt quickly with an issue relating to the aerial on the TV. Hot small noisy room in need of refurbish

Only plus was location. Room was small and in need of repairs and updating. The weather was warm and there were no fans or air on. The windows opened a couple of inches but we soon closed them due to the noise from the alley under the window. I actually moved out for most the duration of our stay so that I could get some sleep / relax at a nearby hotel

The hotel is well located and attractively priced. The staff are friendly and reasonably efficient and the breakfast was more than adequate. The problem was the room, which was too small and sparsely furnished to do anything more than sleep in.
