Fire alarm going off at almost midnight was not ideal. Was then woke up by the noise from next door and police banging in their door. Room was cold and there wasn’t any way to turn the heater on.

Rooms and bathrooms were dated and in serious need of a refurb. Poorly laid out and an inefficient use of space. Bathroom is very dated and pluming can do with an upgrade. Safe couldn't open because it banged into the desk. Internet hardly worked.

The only thing I was happy with about our stay here was the pleasant staff and the location, but with the crampt and tired rooms, not at all worth the price. I read reviews ahead that said the rooms were small, but could not believe just how tiny and crampt they were. The beds were not comfortable, the room was stuffy and worn down, and overall the place just felt grimy. Neither my husband or I could relax or rest well here. I am sure the only way they can get away with charging what they do for this place is the location, but still not worth it. I spent the whole night wishing I was somewhere else, and it took away from our overall experience of being in Glasgow. Also would suggest avoiding the breakfast that is included.

my wife and I have stayed in the Novotel Glasgow , and Novotel Edinburgh park, mercure Livingston and rate accor hotels highly. we were disappointed at tired appearance of hotel . the reception staff we found very helpful and professional. the first item of note was the breakfast deal

As above - arrived late, clean room on quite side of building - only slight niggles were one lift not working and lack of air con on a very hot night. Otherwise, slept well, breakfast good, staff good..

The staff were polite and helpful, but in every other respect we were disappointed. Our room was very small, and so hot that it was difficult to sleep at night. There was no way to regulate the room temperature other than opening windows, but even this did not help. There was also frequent noise from fans and vents on the balcony outside. The bathroom was clean but the filling and grouting around the bath and tiles was in a bad state and left a bad impression. Overall, the room and the hotel as a whole had a very dated and shabby feel, and in our opinion is in urgent need of refurbishment. We have stayed in a number of other Mercure hotels and always been satisfied with the accommodation provided so we were very surprised at the poor standard of this hotel. We would not consider staying there again in it's present condition, which is a great shame given the excellent position it is in and our preference for Mercure hotels in general.

We were not in the hotel much as we were attending TRNSMT but it was close to the venue and breakfast was good and plentiful, we were last to arrive at breakfast but did not feel at all rushed. Good value and parking too!

« Rooms desperately need air con! »

We were staying for the Sunday of Transmt so didn’t spend much time in the room. It was quite close to the venue and that was the defining decision maker. Unfortunately due to the hot weather, the room we were in was stifling. The window only opened a little bit. There is no air conditioning so it was far too hot to sleep. The room was a bit shabby and not particularly clean (scuff marks on skirtings and very tired decor). We didn’t opt for breakfast, but a5 £13.50 a person, I’m not sure many people would. All in all disappointing.

« Nice staff but facilities need a refresh »

Found the staff lovely from check in through to departure. The foyer area is smart, light and airy. This contrasts with the rooms which are cramped and with no air conditioning on a warm summers night uncomfortable. It is one of the first hotels I have stayed in where the common areas and corridors were cooler and thus more comfortable than the room! Breakfast itself was fine but is in a basement room with no natural light and appears to be a function room as I think there was a stage behind the curtain by my table. It was a depressing space in which to eat breakfast.
