Friendly staff, nice bar and breakfast area but rooms tired and in need of a refurb. The streets were noisy and sound-proofing in the rooms not great.

Stay was fine. Receptionist was pleaSant and helpful. The overnight noise is a nuisance and did hinder my sleep. Not sure if this is the lift however there was an intermittent noise.

Single person staying in compact double room for one night for a conference in City Hall. Great location, functional space and friendly staff. Breakfast was a bit on the cramped side but got there in the end.

Staying at your hotel was great, great location & some great members of staff apart from one - Before heading out in the evening, I headed to reception to arrange a taxi at 7.45pm where I seen a form with all my details including address, contact number, name on it when I had filled in this form at 4pm - there for it had sat on your reception desk for almost 4 hours, when I said to the certain member of staff ‘this is all my details’ she took it right out my hands & never even apologied for this. This is a massive GDPR issue & I should be getting at least an apology. I will also be sending an email regarding this.

Room was bit small but clean reception service was good food good generally had nice couple of days pipes in room bit noisy at night and we were at the side of hotel with an adjoining lane which was a bit noisy

I haven’t had a bad stay at a Mercure hotel; I have stayed here twice. The staff were friendly & helpful. The room was clean & well maintained. The evening meal, I had was ok - nothing wild & the wedges were greasy. The hotelis in a good location for exploring and work in my case.

« Staff told me i hadnt paid for the room »

I have already emailed customer service to complain but received no reply. I stayed at this hotel on Saturday night for my sons wedding and after which i was told by the staff i hadnt paid my bill, the staff had no clue and were adamant i hadnt paid despite telling them i had. It was on my bank statement from the 20th july and my son was also asked to pay for the room. Overall incredibly dissatisfied.

« Very small room and oddly placed furniture. »

I travel from time to time across north and south America and Europe and am based in NYC so I am used to seeing 'cozy' rooms. However, this is the smallest hotel I have ever stayed in and the furniture was very poorly laid out. The amount of walkable space in the room was comical. I had requested an ironing board and it was placed just inside the room almost blocking the doorway since there was no room to place it. To make matters worse the cleanliness of the bathroom was less than ideal with long hairs on the walls of the bathroom. I did give my feedback upon checking out as well.

I was actually quite disappointed with this hotel. Given that the cost of my stay was quite high, I expected a higher standard than I received. The reception staff were wonderful, as were the bar and waiting staff, however, when you get out of the lift to the bedroom areas, it’s quite clear that this hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade. My room was rather disappointing; the bathroom was very neglected - the hot tap in the bath was incredibly difficult to turn off, I had to wrap a towel around it to turn it off as it was very stiff to turn, and the water was scalding hot. A part of the shower knob was broken, and it wasn’t clear how to turn on the shower, hence the reason why I ended up struggling with the hot tap in the bath. The original plug in the sink was broken and had been substituted with a plastic plug, which didn’t work and the water drained away before I had a chance to use it. The toilet roll holder was hanging on by a very loose rawl plug and the lock on the bathroom door was very unpredictable. The window in the bedroom was very dirty, and a bit of string was all that kept it from opening fully - yes, a bit of string (which was on the outside of the window!). I had very little sleep, due to a wedding party running up and down the corridor outside my room, and banging on the door of the room next door. I was going to phone reception to complain, but as the people on the floor above me could hear the noise, I assumed that the staff at reception must have heard it too, especially since the wedding party eventually took their noise into the lift and, I presume to the bar.

The room was so tiny you could just about get around the bed to shut the curtains. being 6 ft 3 my feet were over the end of the bed nearly touching the side cabinet ! Room clean but bit tired looking . Stains on the carpet . in the bathroom the air brick/vent was full of thick dust and dirt.
