The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room had tea and coffee facilities and clean but could do with an upgrade as there were marks on the walls and chipped paint

No air conditioning, windows open too noisy. Room backed on to an alley where homeless and drinks resided breaking bottles and being rowdy most of the 2 nights we stayed

We only stayed for one night whilst attending a wedding. It was good for all we were in it. Not much room in the room but absolutely fine for what it was for. Breakfast in the morning was lovely. Would stay here again.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Staff were exceptional and went out of their way to accommodate me. Very helpful, when I had actually booked the wrong dates they were able to get me a room that same night for the same price that I had paid for. Also managed to cancel the wrong reservation free of charge. Never had a hotel do that before and I stay in hotels at least 3 times a month. The rooms were also very clean and spacious. The room also was in good condition and had been well maintained. But the bed was the absolute best. One of the comfiest and largest beds I had even slept on. Also really liked the black out curtains. Got a very good sleep in that room. Will definitely be telling friends and family and will also be staying here again !!!! The only thing I would recommend is to have a travel sized toothbrush and toothpaste in the room. Other than that cannot fault it !

Tired hotel, requiring refurb. Rooms very small. Toilet not working, odour from shower curtain. Had coffee on arrival, asked for a scone or biscuit. They had neither as they were waiting in a food order. 2pm on a Friday afternoon going in to a weekend. Very odd. Breakfast nice albeit very somber quiet breakfast room. Hotel old fashioned and needs a refurb. However value for money for the money we paid.

Beds and bathrooms could do with an upgrade, shower head wouldn’t stay in position and beds rather uncomfortable. Staff were very friendly and attentive though and breakfast was good.

We had a twin room on Mon 1 July 2019 for 2 nights.On entering the room,we found it a bit on the small side with not much room to manoeuvre about. The windows where hard to open and the netting curtain was falling off the window and not attached properly. The room was very warm and had no aircon. We had to leave the window open all night as it was too warm. We heard the noise of traffic and people on the street that kept us awake. The room also needs refurbished,as the table and seat was worn. Also the bathroom needs bit updating and painted. The carpetvin the room was bit stained and the carpet out in the hall outside needs cleaning too. In the morning we where awoken by the room service staff outside our door,as our room was next to the linen cupboard. One of the staff outside our room was called on her mobile phone,as the ringing woke me up. She was talking on her mobile outside our room for at least 10 mins. I found this to be bit disrespectful and shouldn't happen outside the rooms when people are trying to sleep. We also heard this humming noise from another room above which sounded like a plumbing issue. It was annoying to be honest. On leaving the hotel after our stay,the reception staff didn't ask us how our stay was. She just took our money and that was it. The bar staff where a bit slow to serving and we waited a bit. Think the staff could be a more attentive ,alert and customer focused. I feel the hotel needs refurbished in the rooms and throughout the hotel. I have stayed in other hotels and was happy. But I'm afraid I wouldn't stay at the Mercure in Ingram Street,Glasgow again. It was expensive of £145 for the stay for what we got and needs a lot of updating in rooms and throughout the hotel. Also air con would be a big plus too.

Rooms were very small, smaller than rooms I’ve stayed in in New York which are known for their very small size. Too small for 2 people to stay in comfortably. There was a stain on the bed sheets and the bathroom could do with updating as the seal around the tiles was inches thick. Could tell it had been done over and over agin whereas could do with ripping out. Windows were extremely dirty & difficult to open to cool the room down. Staff we encountered were lively & helpful.

I would recommend it if you have the budget. If i found it cheaper, i would stay again.

Overall i am happy with the way i was treated after requesting a room change following a disturbing night, where my heating unit was making a continuous noise all night, despite being off. Also, i am glad to have gotten an early check-in. Breakfast should have been better. For example, while i stayed for 4 nights, only the check-out morning i found out i could have ordered an omelette, instead of the fried eggs. In my opinion, there must be a way for guests to get to know what they can have. On the other hand, despite the limited quantity, the quality was very satisfying. Overall i would expect a cheaper price. But i had some good sleeps after the first night.

Room was tiny bearly room to walk around the bed, Constantly moving out each other’s way. Very hot, no heating on but the temp inside was considerably hotter than outside. When we opened the dirty windows we were faced with a disgusting view of a brick wall. The room was grubby. There were 2 inch gaps in the skirts boards, cracked basin, decor marked and dirty. To top things off our neighbour was the lift shaft! When I went down to complain about the noise( which was just the final straw) I was told that there were other rooms available but none of them were any better.
