« Lovley staff/nice room/good breakfast.. »

Have stayed here before and came back for new year love the 12 o'clock checkout and the breakfast times and when the staff are so friendly it makes your stay more enjoyable...the only thing that was disappointing was the evening meal don't think it's worth the money i got pie and mash and to be honest you could get the same quality in a pub for half the price but it would not stop me staying again but i would only book breakfast.

« A disappointing experience for a regular visitor »

Issues throughout the stay unfortunately. I visit regularly, and once again the receptionist did not have my details when I checked in (including my Accor gold card details). However the receptionist (Lucy?) was excellent and helpful throughout, and upgraded my room, provided the drinks voucher etc. The problems started when I came back from visiting the gym - my room card would not open the door. I went back to reception and waited for 25 minutes in my gym kit as there was a guest checking in whose booking was not on your system. Eventually, my card was reset - it still wouldn’t open the door. Repeat the process - card reset, it wont open the door. Back to reception and Lucy (?) said there had been issues with room 226 and she couldn’t fix them. She let me in using a fire key, and suggested she would move my room. I said ok, she said she just had to check another guest in then she would organise. I waited 40 minutes in my room, in my gym kit, and couldn’t shower or order dinner because I was moving room. No word from Lucy (who to be fair was busy on the reception on her own). I then put the door on the latch, went to reception, room key 227 was waiting for me but nobody had told me - so eventually i went back to the room and swapped over. I then rang for room service. Reception transferred me to the bar - phone cut out. I then walked to the restaurant to order - with the room service menu from the room. Waiter asked what I wanted, I told him, and he then told me it was a reduced menu that day with none of the choices on it! Appreciate it was 2nd January but surely I should have been made aware of this earlier? The room was nice but all in all a disappointing visit.

« Lovely hotel in quiet area »

Great hotel, in a quiet area not too far away from Leeds Airport. We used it as a stopover on our way to a holiday in Yorkshire and had 2 rooms booked, which where clean and comfortable and one of them appeared to have been recently renovated. We used the pool and facilities the morning of check out.

« great value overnight stay »

Yes it was all fine. Room was at the very back of the hotel and a little bit of a trek from reception. Noise level from ajoining rooms and corridor was higher than we would have liked. We didn't include breakfast as we were visiting family. Clean room very good for price

« Short stay »

Stayed here on Hogmanay and New Year's Day excellent value for money during the holiday period. Did not have breakfast as family live close by. Had a bar snack and a drink as room not ready on arrival. Bar lady had not heard of ginger beer to make a ginger beer/lime drink as requested used ginger ale instead which tasted nothing like the requested drink - no refund. Food was very unexciting and very expensive for supposedly deli sandwiches - supermarket sliced bread? However accommodation satisfactory although room long way away from reception.

Dear Guest Thank you for your review and happy new year to you. Sorry about ginger beer, it is not a product we are often asked for. Glad you enjoyed your stay overall. Regards Richard Parker General Manager.

« Great evening (NYE), tired, scruffy room. »

Comfortable nights sleep but room tatty, ceiling wallpaper hanging off, bathroom quite dirty and small. Stayed a couple of times before and had civil partnership there in 2013. Drinks very, very expensive...even to point of ripping off. Don't think I'll be back!

I have put dissatisfied on room cleanliness because I was surprised to find a considerable quantity of human hair in the bath plug hole! I'm sure you wouldn't be happy to know that. In all other respects the room was fine

« Hotel needs work »

All staff were friendly, especially the man in the health club. Bedroom was cold, glitter and cigarette stub on balcony. Balcony glass is filthy. Wired dent in bedroom wall, cupboard had silver spray paint on it, another door was badly filled in. Paint on the carpet. Cilicone badly used in bathroom. Corridor carpets have silver tape on them. Restaurant was ok for breakfast. Still needs painting especially the skirting boards. Bar was fine for dinner. Health club - communal changing isn’t good. Especially with an 8 year old child. Female cleaner came in un announced, that could have been very embarrassing. Coloumn in the middle of the spa pool has been removed, but you can still see the glue/ cilicone. Sauna light wasn’t working, but there was a notice saying they were aware of that. The whole hotel needs decorating and updating. Check out - there was a note saying if we need assistance then call, but I couldn’t be bothered by then and just left.

All ok except the xmas lunch was very disappointing. Starter was good and so was the pudding but the main course was appalling. Also we were not told that the swimming pool would not be open.

« Great location and lovely staff. »

Worked for us as a family group with various sizes of rooms. 302 was a great size and had a lovely sofa. It was over the bar and if you are a light sleeper the late night noise meant it isn’t for you. Lots of other rooms to choose from. Staff very obliging altering rooms so we could be near each other.

« disappointing »

The first room we were given was really dated and unclean (dusty). We were moved and upgraded to a room with a garden view which was nice, however there were still issues with cleanliness. There were poo marks down the toilet from the previous gust and hairs around the bath and sink. It was extremely disappointing and I would not stay there again unless there was some serious evidence of improvement. I do not feel happy with the amount of money I paid to stay there. The free swimming facilities were a plus. The staff were very helpful in getting us moved rooms quickly and were very polite.
