Excellent attention , no stairs to climb this time . Enjoyed your 1st class steaks in the resturant and it was good to have Breakfast under the watchful etes of an old friend !

« ok stay »

An ok hotel - double room was spacious and comfortable . Overall hotel is a bit tired looking. Soundproofing between rooms not great especially when there is a wedding group on the same floor . Good location out of the centre of Leeds and easy to get to. Golden Acre park is directly behind the hotel and well - worth visiting- shame the path to the park is not signposted from the hotel. Hotel is on the expensive side for room only; breakfast, meals and drinks also a bit more expensive than you would expect . We went to Sainsbury's for breakfast - Golden Acre park café also does breakfasts but not until 10.00 am

Very comfortable and friendly .... We were looked after very well by the Young Host .... Our Party was a great success and enjoyed by everyone. The drinks at the bar were extremely expensive but hey ho. Wouldn't think twice about booking in the future.

« Well we had a roof over our head »

Looked great from the front. Dated decor, cobwebs everywhere, windows streaked, room overlooked staff smoking area, we paid for late check out up to 6pm and were asked when we would be checking out, really bad coffee at breakfast, poor selection of fruit at breakfast, bar staff couldn't make our cocktail order from the menu, light bled in to our room from the hall at night, overcharged for something that could not be explained, dead flowers in wall baskets, space heaters in dining area, set menu wasn't available for our prepaid evening meal, cheese board was overpriced with only 3 tiny crackers and 2 thin slices of cheese, terrible mattress with mattress topper. had to hire towels for pool, hot tub that was cold.

« Shocked »

Having stayed at Mercure hotels in the past, I had high expectations when booking the Parkway as a surprise for my husbands birthday. I was so disappointed and actually embarrassed when we arrived. The interior and exterior desperately requires some TLC. The 'Spa' was no better than a council owned leisure centre. In fact, council leisure centre's are probably more luxurious. I had planned on having an afternoon tea and dinner in the hotel, but ate out on both occasions despite having a £22ph allowance for the evening meal. I do not know how this hotel is a wedding venue. I am so disappointed and it ended up costing me a fortune having to eat out and get taxis etc.

« Rundown and badly needs updating »

When we arrived at 1pm I went to reception and said that I knew we were early but was it possible to check in. The lady on reception snapped back " Check in is 2 o'clock" and turned away. We had booked 3 double rooms and two of them had several problems, from bathroom door locks hanging off, loose shelves, bedside lights with no switches, shower doors that did not shut so water goes all over the floor when it is used, bathroom vinyl all split and coming away from the floor, cobwebs in the bathrooms, bulbs out in bathrooms. The general appearance of the bathrooms is awful. The corridor leading down to the leisure centre looked like it had not been vacuumed for a week and there was an old used teabag thrown on the floor behind the door. There was a party on in the room below us and the music went on until 1am and we could not sleep. The receptionist says she asked them to turn the music down but all they did was close the door. This does not help when you are above the room! We are not just being picky, we have stayed at the Bristol Mercure and Chester, both of which are excellent, and we have never had cause to complain. Apart from the volume of the music, we did not complain about the room as we were only staying for one night. If we had booked for longer we would have asked for different rooms or found another hotel.

Very impressive hotel. Totally expected a 'travel lodge' type experience. Food was excellent. Only downfalls were we didn't get the wake up call we requested which meant I had no time to shower. I may have left my iPad in the room. Called in a week after our stay and was promised a phone call the next morning as housekeeper wasn't working that day and no one had access to the lost cupboard? I called again yesterday morning and was told the manager had been emailed and would call me but nobody did! The girl I spoke to on both occasions was very helpful but could do nothing. Disappointing finish

I had a rusty bath and the grouting was flaking off all around the bath - overdue a refurbishment, Very small single beds with small duvet that was not big enough to wrap up to keep warm in a cold room. Staff very friendly an welcoming

« Good reunion, good bed and food. Room needs refurbishment. »

After last visit 5 years ago I booked a superior room. The bed and bathroom were good. The food at the reunion was also good and the staff friendly and efficient. The bedroom lacked a little furniture and a fridge for proper milk. No drawers for clothes and not many hangers in the wardrobe. The bathroom had a bath and the cosmetics were adequate. Good for the price.

Thought the hotel is in need of a re-furbishment, we was upgraded to a superior room and although it was clean the room needed modernising, the rooms smell horrible old and fusty

« Lovely staff, beautiful location, just needs modernising »

Lovely welcome at check in. The room had a lovely view over woodland. The room itself was ok but.did need.updating. The evening meal was fine. Nice and hot. Service was slow which seemed to upset some people. Breakfast was a buffet breakfast and quite adequate. Car parking is free and plenty of it.
