« The wedding was lovely; some of the facilities were rather tired. »

I thought that the room looked very tired and dated. The wedding reception was lovely; the function room was lovely. There were not sufficient settings for breakfast the following morning; presumably it was known how many people were booked in, and as a time of 10.00 was specified it was obvious that everyone would be there at the same time. As the wedding meal was being cleared one waiter spilled some food remains over my sister and barely apologised. This was an unsatisfactory way to handle the situation.

No parking available requiring 30 min wait sat in car for an attendant to find an unmarked place to park. No qualified staff at reception when checking out at 4:15am leaving some question as to whether my bill was settled satisfactorily.

Room 127, rooms very dated need attention and room smelt very smoky, this is because of the balconies, people obviously smoke out there the cigarette buts are visible all over the grass, we where offered another room a few doors down but the problem was exactly the same,

Check in was easy - we asked the receptionist about booking a taxi to get to airport the next morning. She did this but wasn't very clear and didn't really explain things. Next morning the taxi didn't arrive no-one on reception and took a while to get someone using the telephone on reception.

Staff friendly and some more competent / experienced than others, but we all have to learn. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Facilities are great, however not obvious on the website, so unfortunately was ill prepared to enjoy them. Minor quibbles, Only white or brown sugar supplied in both the room and on the tables in the restaurant / dining areas. Sweetener had to be to be asked for. The Mrs was upset that there were no biscuits or such in the room. We were guests at a family wedding, so booked our dining choices (and Rooms) months in advance. My major criticism is that that a dessert that from the choices given, that what was described as Eaton Mess was not Eaton Mess, Eaton Mess consists of 3 ingredients Strawberries, Whipped Cream and méringue. What was serverd was a quarter of a strawberry (garnishing the top with a few pieces (small Cubes) of méringue), custard, gooseberries and some white stuff, could have been cream or ice cream. I didn't taste it so can not be sure what the white stuff was. I am told that it was an acceptable dessert........ HOWEVER that dessert in NO WAY can be described as Eaton Mess, dispite the protestations of the Floor Manager/Maitre D and the Chef. It may have been a dessert agreed by the Bride & Groom, but this was miss sold. Name it any thing you like. But You cannot state Apples and the supply Plums.

first room we got was disgraceful, got upgraded which was brilliant, booked meal in hotel 8 people eating had starter and waited nearly 1 hour for main course, then got annoyed because staff were setting breakfast stuff out while we was eating, would never stay again.

« Great staff, but decor needs a new coat of paint. »

The staff were great but our room was a little tired. In the bathroom the shower head was so low I had to crouch to get my head wet (I’m 5’11 so not overly tall), the tiles were popping off the wall in front of the toilet. Toilet roll holder was broken. Cracks in ceiling. Paint peeling on window frame. In the bedroom the window was missing a lock, the desk slopes forwards and the cupboard smelt of vinegar!? Overall the room was clean though, but we felt the room needed investment to bring it up to scratch.

I stayed last minute on Saturday night, as a solo traveller. Check in was smooth and my room was ok. The bathroom was a little tired but the room was otherwise clean and comfortable. Breakfast served until noon was a bonus, meaning Sunday morning was a leisurely pace for me. The breakfast was fine, and there was a nice range of things on offer. I didn’t look at the leisure facilities so can’t comment. Overall, bearing in mind it was Saturday night, I thought it a little expensive, however, I would stay again.

Leisure facilities spot on friendly helpful staff..reception people very nice and helpful, unfortunately not enough bar staff on and food was to be desired with people sending there meals back due to not being cooked..hence I ate off site.. the buffet for the meeting was spartan and I did not get anything off this and had to nip to the local garage
