« Comfortable Hotel but Tired »

The staff were very nice and friendly and the beds comfortable and clean. We thought the restaurant was pricey . For example the squid starter was a rip off. The corridors are drab and uninviting and need a make over as do the rooms. and en-suite. The worst this was the leisure Facilities which are in bad need of an overhaul. The pool has many tiles missing and the area strikes as dirty and drab but the worst are the Changing rooms. Both male and female. Everything is tatty or not working. From the lockers to the showers the whole thing needs refurbishing. They seem very dirty and neglected. We have been going regularly to this Hotel and the these facilities have been deteriorating for years. We will continue to stay more due to the staff and the the location and the fact the beds are comfortable.

« Nice Hotel but a bit tired »

The welcome and staff were lovely. The room clean and a comfy bed.However the decor could do with an overhaul the corridors are drab and unwelcoming and the en-suites tired. The leisure facilities are badly in need of an update. The pool has many tiles missing, and the whole area is dark. The sauna has been well used and needs an update. The worst part were the Changing rooms. Everything in both the Ladies and Gents needs to be replaced from Lockers to Showers and the whole thing feels dirty.

I booked three rooms for members of my family who were all attending another family members wedding. My concerns are related to the bedrooms and the noise, on arrival all was good at reception and your staff were most helpful. On entering my bedroom it was very obvious that the room was tired and in need of an upgrade. The bathroom was not a pleasant experience with odd tiles on the walls a discoloured toilet pan that needed a good clean and the bath covered in stains. When I returned from the wedding reception a disco was going on and unfortunately, my room was I believe directly above the disco event. The noise was so loud that my bathroom door, radiator and other items were rattling it was no use putting the television on because I couldn't hear what was being said so, as a result, I had quite a disturbed night.

Having stayed here a few years ago on business I was keen to book back in when I was placed in Hull again. « We Booked two rooms, The room my daughter occupied room no. 117, the toilet did not flush. »

This was our second stay at this Mercure Hotel, It was satisfactory. We booked two rooms, One of the rooms was very good. The second room (no.117) which my daughter occupied the toilet did not flush and this was very inconvenient and stressful. We complained at reception and was given a £20 discount. Whiltst I appreciate the kind gesture, the point is when one pays money in good faith you expect the comfort and rest you paid for. It appears complaints were already made about room 117 but nothing was done to fix the problem and yet Mercure continue to charge for this room. So I hope the toilet in room 117 is fixed before it is reserved for another innocent person..

Great service, after a night at a charity Ball we finally got back to the hotel about 2am! The night porter appeared, opened and bar and even made us pizza! The front of house , restaurant, all staff we meet were friendly, polite and helpful

« Simple overnight stay to walk over the Humber bridge the next day for charity »

We got this deal from Secret escapes. Was greeted by a nice friendly gentleman and was given vouchers for a complimentary drink. The room was basic but comfortable, iron was in the room and tea & coffee. Very comfortable bed. Very nice buffet style breakfast. The swimming baths was a bit tired and was full of kids having swimming lessons so that was the only disappointment.

Easy to find, clean hotel. Man on reception warm, friendly, professional could not have been better. Ordered pizza to my room but could not get hold of room service so went to order downstairs and was told I would not be charged delivery on the £13.00 offer. Pizza arrived and quite inedible very oily, cheese not melted, one piece of chilli on a chilli pizza and chips tasted unpalatable. On departure was billed 2.50 for drinks I did not have but was told this meant chips. Was billed full price for Pizza. I will not be eating there again..

Very satisfactory overall. Hotel is well placed for the city and with ample parking. Room suffered from no running cold water ( came out warm, even after staff notified and work was supposedly done on the system ), variable water pressure seriously influenced us of the W.C. flushing. Menu too burger orientated and no basics such as chicken and chips, pork chops with potato, or simple curry or chilli. Table cloths to the dining room tables would not be out of place. Your staff were a total bonus - helpful and friendly throughout.
