« comfortable, relaxing and surprising. »

The staff on the desk were very friendly and welcoming. I had booked the room through Secret Escapes and was given the chance to upgrade. I'm glad I did as the room was large and had a separate bedroom. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely if a little busy as there was a coach trip staying.

We loved it at Grange Park. The room was lovely big and airy. The bed was so comfy a d my wife said it was the best sleep she'd had in a hotel ever. Would recommend to anyone.

Great value for money with Secret Escapes. Much cheaper than anything direct. Staff good, welcoming & helpful. Bit disappointed in the spa/pool only because a juniors rugby team in residence for the weekend. Lots of dried mud about. Food fine all round. Bedroom to Accor standard.

Firstly I opted to have lunch choosing a vegetarian dish which met with the female staff member's approval, as the menu had been introduced the previous night. Her excitement over the new menu was infectious. I was then informed some 10 minutes later the dish I ordered was no longer available so had to select an alternate vegetarian dish. I was presented with toasted bread as my starter - no where on the menu did it state it would be toasted. The tortellini subsequently arrived and it was bland, to say the least and warm, not hot. The whole dining process with regard to getting the dishes took longer than anticipated, during which I asked to be reseated as I was impacted by smokers allowed to sit close to the front door. Shocking that commercial premises allow such a policy when passive and second hand smoke contributes to an average of 21,000 deaths per year! I had to go in search of a staff member to pay for my lunch. I first walked over to the bar, busy as a wedding party had just arrived. I considered going to reception and was about to do so, when the same young lady who took my lunch order made an appearance and subsequently took my payment. She remarked once again about the new menu suggesting that it would be a better experience for dinner to which I remarked I will not be dining there that evening. She then recommended I visit Beverley which was the best part of my experience at the hotel as it was worth visiting. I commend the hotel on employing older members of staff, but one member in particular lurched around, which isn't the positive impression I think the hotel is aiming to provide and the other older gentleman's suit stank of stale cigarettes. My gold star award goes to the glamours 62 year old receptionist who was efficient, welcoming and professional. No matter what one pays for hotel accommodation the service needs to be first class and in my experience I was disappointed. At breakfast I was guided to the dining area and saw a sign stating that for scrambled or poached eggs, just ask a member of staff. I looked around, no member of staff could be seen in the restaurant area. I then took the two last, sorry looking, fried eggs to place alongside my beans and two sausages which were stuck together. When I finished and was about to leave the dining room three members of staff were congregated at the host table. I remarked to the chef, 'where were you when I wanted scrambled eggs?' to which he replied he was there. No. He wasn't. There was no one around the breakfast area during the time it took me to consume my food. These details leave a lasting, unpleasant experience that makes one reluctant to return.

Well...it was ok but I have some reservations on a few things : Is it a Mercure? The Hotel is nice but some of the details are not Mercure like. Typically the bathroom : the hot and cold on different taps is a bit of a joke. The restricted space to put toileteries also. No safe in the rooms. The hairdryers hiden and remote from the bathroom. The Rooms/Beds are good. Wifi excellent. Surprisingly despite Platinum status I have never been upgraded in this hotel and the view I had what on the car park...I would have expected view on the Park...A bit disapointing

« Hotel very dated and needs refurbishment and the majority of the staff need to go on a customer service course. »

Restaurant not very inviting. Table arrangement not very comfortable. No table cloths. More attention was given to the coach party that had arrived. The bathroom is very dated. Toilet seat did not match the rest of the suite. Small glass shelf falling of the wall. No where to put own toiletries. Bed was a double but side tables fixed for a king size bed. No aircon. With the exception of one member of the restaurant staff all the rest of the staff could do with having some customer services training.

My family has a nice staying on your hotel. Nice room and very clean with bath tub, iron, hair dryer.... with nice view to the garden. Hotel has big and romance garden that is so fantastical in summer time. The hotel entrance is very beautiful that is harmony between modern and ancient arts. Food is very delicious. Staffs are so friendly. Moreover, we have got promotion for our dinner too. For us, With the amount we have paid and the service we have got that is very cheap. We have got great time for my little one on her first birthday in your hotel. Thank you so much for your kindness and service we have received. We would tell with friends and family and relatives about your hotel and want to come back next time. And, the last but not least, the check in time is 12 and check out at 2pm that is so great.

First room checked into stank of smoke, immediately moved by reception but surely housekeeping must have smelt it. Bar in reception had flat Becks lager, and couldn’t pour a pint of Stella. After 3 people tried to serve me, one went to the function room bar, and got 2 pints of Stella, one of which had “bits?” floating in. So a further trip, and 15 minutes later I got 2 pints. Restaurant understaffed, one poor girl running round doing too much and forgetting things, in her defence she was working with magicians, as every time she asked for help they disappeared. Breakfast was okay.

Service was ok, food was good although overpriced, drinks were expensive, spa facilities were good and much enjoyed. Overall we had a relaxing stay. The outdoor area needs more seating and the rooms need updating.
