Good service from the staff. Accommodation poor. We were in the out buildings which were poorly decorated, there were no plug sockets unless you unplug tv and lamp. Had to boil kettle on floor under the bedside table. Plug socket was loose and dusty. Ordered room service coffee in the end and that arrived cold! Could hear every movement from the room above, which woke us very early in the morning. Certainly not worth the £100 we paid would class this as a 2 star room!! Main hotel looked lovely, breakfast was average.

We were in a separate block from the main hotel. Room 7 on the upper floor. Very run down indeed. Good points were - Clean room, good bed, bed linen and towels. Bad points - building needs demolished; no money spent on it in years; INFESTATION OF A AMINAL SPECIES IN LOFT SPACE WHICH COULD BE HEARD IN ROOM RUNNING !! The staff explained it may be bats !! BATS DON'T RUN!! Staff explained vermin pest control inspected area last week and found nothing. A good idea may be to get this area re-inspected. MAIN HOTEL - We did not venture further than the reception area which was run down with dirty carpets. We checked out very early the following day.

On approaching the Hotel I thought what a lovely place this is for a wedding venue. we had pre booked our room through your central booking. there was confusion on this as we were told the hotel was full even though we were told originally there were rooms available for the wedding of my niece we were traveling to. My niece asked us earlier due to this could they use our room to get ready in, to which we agreed. Upon arrival we were greeted and told our room was not ready for us which we already knew about and was not worried about. When we finally got booked in it was not in the hotel as such but in an outbuilding . Room 18 was not what we expected. the room smelt damp, the bed was pushed into a corner due to the small size of the room which meant one of us slept against a radiator & couldn't get out of the bed. During the night as the room was by the main door into the block we were awoken several times with people entering and going up the stairs which is situated on the wall with our headboard other side. When we got up in the morning I went to make a cup of tea only to find a hole in the side of the kettle. Breakfast was excellent. Overall with the wedding it was a good experience but the room let you down badly.

The stay was pretty average. Hotel and our room looked tired and would benefit from carpet and furniture cleaning. Check in gentleman tried to charge us again for a prepaid booking and bar staff would only offer water or beer in exchange for vouchers. Breakfast staff very pleasant but the food and offerings were poor. Check out staff pleasant but we only had to return our key card. I would not recommend this hotel and when in the area would not book a return visit. All a little disappointing really.

Almost felt tangled up in the wedding party which we hadn't been made aware of prior to our visit. However the excellent service and friendly staff put us in the mood to enjoy it. The food was particularly good; the room a bit dated but acceptable for the price.

Gabriel was on duty when we were there and he was very helpful - nothing was too much trouble for him. Lugo was fantastic in the bar and restaurant & got our meal changed quickly when the kitchen made a mistake. He was also friendly and informative about the area. Its a beautiful location and good value for money.

Helpful and friendly staff. Excellent and delicious food in the restaurant. Clean and comfortable room. However, the lack of air conditioning meant that the room was rather hotter than ideal overnight. Also the decor in the bathroom needed attention, with several patches of peeling paint on the ceiling.

The stay was not very relaxing at all after being woken up twice due to a fault in the fire alarms at 2:30am and again at 5am. This was the not a relaxing stay what so ever and to make things worse our 6 year old was with us at the time and was dragged out into the cold both times.

Our fire alarm system is in place for the safety of all guests and it never goes off by mistake, on this occasion it was activated by guests smoking in a bedroom and was by far a faulty system. As you are aware smoking in an enclosed room is illegal and I am afraid their bad behaviour has impacted on the rest of our guests. This was our 2nd visit to Elcot Park and we weren't disappointed at our choice to return. The hotel is in an idyllic setting with plenty of hassle free parking. The room was well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We had dinner on one of our nights there and that was good. Staff all very polite and helpful.

Ageing room, lacking comfort. Awkward communication. Plus two fire alarms in a night.

We stayed for a night in a family room, with two kids. The room’s decoration was dated, but above all the comfort was absent: the double bed mattress was very hard and with a plastic sheet, and the sofa bed for the kids was ridiculously narrow (even for my under 10 years-old cocktail-stick-shaped daughters). The two fire alarms and evacuations in the middle of the night (2.45am and 4.00am) were just an addition to an already restless night. In the morning, the curtains were exhausted too: a curtain rail fell just centimetres away from on one of my daughters’ head (a little fear, but thankfully no-one injured), without notice. Services: very basic breakfast buffet, if not going for a full English. Check-in: an error in the initial invoice amount (quickly sorted), but receptionist asked whether he could charge more to my card for “additional expenses”; given the breakfast was included in our rate and there was no minibar in the room, I am still wondering what he meant then. To finish it off, I received an automatic thank-you e-mail for “a relaxing and successful stay”. When the stars are not aligned....
