« Staff super friendly but room was far too hot. »

We were a family staying with a 6yr old and a new baby so the pool was great, the staff were all super friendly and helpful and the food was good too. Our son also loved exploring the garden. However the room was literally like an oven, the air con didn’t work at all. We were actually concerned it was too hot for the baby to sleep in those conditions but we stuck it out. Wish we hadn’t, it was worse than any hotel we’ve stayed in in a hot country. There was also no lift in that part of the hotel so we had to carry everything up the stairs.

« A very enjoyable stay »

Yes a little dated, but everywhere was very clean.All staff very friendly ,polite and helpful.We liked how close it was to park and ride and public transport. Breakfast was very varied and plentiful. Had a north facing room 151 ,which was brilliant in the hot weather, so cool to return to. Would definitely stay again.

The only comments I’d provide would be the following; - the toilet in our room made noise for 20 minutes after flushing this did keep me up and was incredible annoying -the restaurant urgently needs to clean the dishwasher our cutlery was dirty and the plates had mushy peas on them when they were served to us.We did make the waitress aware of this. -for breakfast we didn’t like the vegetable sausages the hotel had and would of preferred quorn. And we didn’t like the Stilton vegetarian choice of main provided on the three courses option. We did like the pool facility and we did think the service in the restaurant was excellent. Also your wine selection is excellent within the hotel and we made the most of it.

From the photos we were expecting better quality than we got. Was very similar to staying at say a travel lodge though the beds were comfortable the room itself was hot, plain and quite cramped and the bathroom was a bit small

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Room had air con which was fab in this heat wave. Room spotless bed very comfy. Downside was breakfast. Not enough staff on duty. Had to wait for bread pastries and mugs. Otherwise very enjoyable and will defo return.

I liked the idea of room service brilliant idea it felt like a really good break. But on the two mornings the bacon was half done. And didn't wont to but the waiter out by coming back to our room again.. It was hard to get to the garden because of the steps down and my mom is a wheel chair user could do with a ramp down.

« I felt welcome at my first stay in this hotel »

At checkout the invoice was correctly divided into business and personal expenses with the correct addresses. I enjoyed the good English breakfast and it was no problem to ask for cheese. Due to the extremely warm summer weather it was very warm in the hotel room and difficult to cool down. At the other hand, the weather was great to enjoy the park outside of the hotel.

« Tired, poorly located hotel with friendly staff. »

Disappointing - no air conditioning in the room (despite hotels.com claiming there was). room was in need of a refurb - floorboards extremely creaky. I pitied the person in the room below me. Lack of sockets near the bed and not even an iron in the room. Good shower though and quick check-in, with reception staff who seemed keen to help at all times. Hotel is also a long way out of town.

we upgraded to a suite because the original allocation had no air con. The room was very good,bed excellent, air con excellent. Had a very disturbed night with noise from the above room and people using stairs to above floor. Receptionist did her utmost to resolve problem. Ten out of ten for her perseverance. Ate in the brassiere on second night rating very poor. So disappointed with food, Luke warm, was tasty but portions poor. Cheese board an insult. Complained but very little improvement when brought back. Not good enough for a 4 star hotel

Very disappointed with our room as it was very small and stuffy as there was no air con as advertised and nowhere to sit down apart from the bed or 1 desk chair. When we mentioned this to reception we were told this wasn't available in our room. We would not have booked this had we known and this room was not pictured on the website
