« Friendly and helpful staff good accommodation and decent food »

I was extremely impressed with all the staff who were friendly, polite, efficient and really could not have done more. I was really quite surprised how good they were. For the price and standard of hotel the food was good but perhaps not as good as it could have been and certainly not exceptional but was convenient, efficient and a good choice and range of price although maybe slightly expensive at the the top end.

« Lovely stay very slow service from hotel staff »

We have stayed in the hotel before always enjoyed the stay with no problems however service was very slow this time we waited over an hour and half to check into our room with two young restless children,we asked for a fan in our room a few times which we still didnt get.we also had to ask for towels in the room.when leaving the pool after a family swim we waited 40 mins to get into the changing room due to a guest who had checked out on the day but still using the facilities,this left the children restless and upset again.we can honestly say the restaurant customer service was excellent though which made our stay a little better.I dont think we will be returning anytime soon as a family

« Well below average »

Very noisy room - sounded like someone was trying to kick the wall in next door. Food was poor. You can’t call garlic bread and pizza authentic when it’s just a frozen box pizza. Was served the same dessert both nights even though the first night I ordered lemon tart and the second i ordered cheesecake with salted caramel sauce.... Shower was freezing the second morning and when I called reception they said it would be fixed in 15 mins. 15 mins later it was still freezing and there was no answer when I called. When it was finally fixed we didn’t have much time to get ready for breakfast so that was rushed. Locker rooms are in serious need of improvements and bedrooms are dated.

« feel like I went back in time as it was so dated and dark »

terrible. family room on the top floor no lift. had to walk to very end of the hotel carry a pram up the stairs with a baby and toddler and then the layout of the "family room" was not suitable. the whole hotel needs a refurb. it is very old fashioned and has a strange odour. interesting to see that when the staff room door is open that all the the pillows are stored on the floor for all guests to see. man at reception was lovely. however the staff in the breakfast lounge were clearly bored and hovering around the table as we try to eat causing an upset to my baby trying to concentrate eating while in a strange place. the swimming pool was dirty along with the changing room facility. was not worth the money paid to be honest.

Staff very friendly& polite. Had a privilege room which was ok if a little jaded & in need of a little more an upgrade feel. The almost complete lack of hot water for a morning shower not good enough & other guests at r3ception also had no hot water.

Staff very attentive in the hotel overall, and food was very good. I did however feel that the decor in the room was very dark and a lot of the tiles in the bathroom were in need of being replaced as many of them were cracked and even though there was a sign encouraging guests to reuse their towels to hang them on the towel rail, we did this and were still given new towels every day and toiletries that had only been used once were removed and replaced even though I realise this is great customer service I do feel that it was very wasteful

« Great staff but the property is pretty tired »

The staff were all fantastic, from front of house to bar staff and cleaners. Very helpful and responsive. But the room we were in was very tired. There didn’t seem to be any way to control the heating (and the room was very stuffy). It was quite a rabbit warren to get to the room and the lack of a lift was pretty troublesome.

« A reasonable stay, room very clean. Nice to enjoy a gin and tonic in the bar. »

The room was very good, as we have found in the past. The staff were polite and helpful. The bar had a good selection. It was the first time we had had a downstairs, front room, which we found quite noisy when staff began to move along the corridors with trolleys in the morning.

Lack of air conditioning in the rooms meant that I had to sleep with the windows wide open as the room was uncomfortably hot when I arrived. Noise from the hallway (creaking floor, other rooms’ TVs) could be heard and the room was generally very tired and not what I had expected.

« All basic needs met »

Staff were pleasant and polite. Brilliant to be able to bring the dog. Room met all basic needs. Food was satisfactory and reasonably priced. Wine was expensive. Breakfast was basic. Pool was wonderfully warm. Grounds were pleasant.
