Having been told we were too early staff member carried on obviously busy. We found the bar and ordered drinks. At 2 we tried to check in but our room was not ready we were given key card and drinks vouchers and asked to wait. After 30 or 40 minutes reception staff came and apologised for wait and had apparently upgraded us to suite by means of apology. Nice gesture, nice room but calling it a suite is pushing it. Room service was excellent and overall we were satisfied but pointing us in the direction of the bar or even entering into conversation when we arrived would have made a difference.

paid for early check-in but still had to stand and wait 20 minutes for room to be ready....was waiting to get changed to go to the races. used coffee in the room but none was replaced for morning.... there was a bag of rubbish in the corridor all day and night.... breakfast could do with being a LOT hotter

Hotel is convenient to M1 and Wetherby Race Course Conference centre or RHS Harlow Carr, but hotel is a rather tired and needs good quality check from top to bottom.

Overpriced and outdated

Although the hotel and room/bedding seemed clean, it is outdated and in need of some TLC throughout. The carpet was very dusty so much so that my wedding suit was dirty after it fell on the floor. The bathroom is not fit for purpose - grubby in places, shower floods as poor drainage, nowhere in shower to put soap/grooming products which makes it difficult to have a decent wash. No AC and it was extremely warm in the hotel and during the night. Breakfast was average. Including breakfast my partner and I paid £130 for one night which is massively overpriced for the amenities and quality of the hotel.

Adapted room unsuitable

I had telephoned to book a room explaining I was in a wheelchair unable to walk, the adapted room was unsuitable for a wheelchair we had to move the bed over as I could not access it. Bed too high to get in and out of and no tuening space. Not ideal at all

very average stay, only one night, booked early check-in but still had to wait, never replaced tea/coffee for morning, bag of rubbish was in corridor for nearly 24 hrs, only getting picked up in the morning. breakfast could do with being a lot hotter

Poorly managed and rather tired

On arrival every guest was being told that rooms were not ready. The receptionist was doing her best, but the whole thing was unproffessional - I was greated with "Sorry, you're room isn't ready, is that OK" and she seemed surprised when I said no. In the morning the fire alarm went off (no fault of the hotel - it was some idiot guest smoking intheir room), but the evacuation was complete chaos with staff having no idea what to do. Breakfast was OK, but for the price you pay it should be a lot better - it's the same as you get at Travel Lodge for half the price. Overall the hotel is tired and needs decorating, but the room was clean and the bed comfortable. Staff need the support of managment on a busy Bank Holiday weekend

I am aware of the incident in relation to the fire alarm, the team do receive training on how to deal with such things and following the event on bank holiday Monday to the process was reviewed and the team debriefed. At the time of your stay, there were 2 Managers on duty, there is a Guest Care Manager available for all guests 24hrs per day every day. I appreciate your feedback and hopefully, we can welcome you back to the hotel in the near future.

Having stayed here many times over the last few years i have found this to be a very acceptable place to stay and have no complaints but was let down this time by the breakfast .Monday breakfast was spoilt by a firealarm(wich was no fault of the hotel) but tuesdays breakfast , we went down about 9 0 clock and it looked like all the food had been there since 7 everything was dry and crisp.

The women at the reception desk were great and quickly sorted my family out with another room when we had a problem with ours. The restaurant staff were friendly and polite. I would however like to point out that staff seem to be allowed to hang outside the entrance of the hotel in groups smoking and bitching about the hotel I personally think this is un-professional and with the tiered look of the hotel and rooms it really brings down the experience for the guest.
