The bedroom, in itself, was comfortable, the bathroom could do with a little bit of tlc especially the shower. More than just 2 teabags and sachets of sugar would have been appreciated. Slightly disappointed with our waiter at dinner in the evening, as pleasant as he was, he couldn't understand my husband when he was asking what type of cider was available. I had to go to the bar and ask myself and then tell the waiter.....then we were charged 10% on top...in hindsight I should have just bought it at the bar when inquiring. When we checked in the receptionist asked if we wanted to join the 'Club'. I said no....and guess what, he registered me!

We found the receptionist delightful; your Events Manager Jen most helpful; the young trainee waiter (under 18) Tom could not have been more helpful; sadly the more senior barman, whilst being cheerful and helpful was rather dismissive of your current wine offerings! However, overall a very pleasant stay.

I always try and use an Accor hotel if possible. The Mercure at Wetherby was of the usual standard. The room, 2012, was clean and spacious. Didn't score higher because too many cracked floor tiles in the bathroom and the restaurant area was some what soulless and uninviting, so we ate out.

Spacious public areas with comfortable bedrooms, reasonably well equipped. Slept well, enjoyed eating in the restaurant. Evening meals were good value, breakfasts were a little less enjoyable as items were either too long under the warming lamps and had hardened, or empty dishes weren’t quickly replenished.

Room was tired with a drawer front missing, and part of the shower control too. Shower was weak and breakfast was luke warm. Lighting poor with one lamp not working. Bed was good and staff nice.

Quirky lift, decor needs uplift, bed hard but clean, towels not soft, shower tricky but lovely bath, breakfast fine but croissants hard and fruit limited.
